I can't speak about long-term use as I have only had it up and working for about 2 weeks. What I can tell you is that the setup was easy. I haven't experienced any problems with it yet and the tri-band is nice for designating what connections to use for what devices. I am in the process of trying different ways to use it, such as smart connect for my security system or not. I have a ranch style home of about 1800 square feet and it covers all of it with no problem.

I like the speed and 3 different frequencies it’s having. Never regret to own this one. Earlier I had A6 (1200Mbps) one. This one is much faster and more device connection capability. Also very slim and square size.

This router is solid built. If you are computer savvy and use older devices that do not run on 5G this is a must. You are also able to program it to restart every night or at whatever time you desire. I found this feature useful in preventing lag. Good overall product.

Have been thru 2 wireless routers and 1 Mesh system just trying to get reasonable speed throughout my house which is only 2300 sq.ft. This Archer4000 had some good reviews online and in a well known consumer’s rating magazine so figured I would give it a try considering Best Buy had it on sale. Have to say I am more that pleased as this performed better than the previous 2 routers and the Mesh system with a base and 2 satellites I have tried over the past year. I now have excellent speed thru-put anywhere in the house and can even get great results outside at the pool area and all the way to the street out front. No dead spots. I was contemplating going to the new wi-fi 6 technology but could not justify twice the price when I don’t have a single wi-fi 6 compatible device. Set-up was extremely easy with the web app and I am not a network guru. If you are looking for great speed at maximum range, this is the perfect solution.

I realized that my older Linksys WNDR4000 dual-band WiFi router just wasn't up to the task anymore. Spectrum recently increased internet download speeds to 200 Mbps in our area and I was lucky to be getting 70Mbps over WiFi. I could only get 200 Mbps when connected to the router via Ethernet. Plus, signal coverage was somewhat spotty - noticed primarily with my Chromecast device which while behind the TV, still was nearly within line of sight of the WiFi router. Since replacing it with the TP-Link Archer AC4000, I'm now getting a much better WiFi signal throughout the house and am able to get 200Mbps download speeds via WiFi. Router setup was also incredibly easy and I like the SmartConnect mode where all 3 WiFi bands are under the same SSID and it automatically chooses the best band for the device that's connecting. Haven't had any issues with any devices not being able to connect. The phone app and web Interfaces are easy to use and straightforward. The info it provides on the MAC addresses for connected devices was useful in tracking down and figuring out what a couple of "phantom" devices were on my network. Would highly recommend this router if you are having issues with WiFi speeds and signal strength, especially if you can get it on sale like I did.

I've had this router for almost 2 months now and the signal covers each corner of our 2400 sq foot home very well. It reaches out into the garage and yard as well. A very nice feature is their app. On the app I can see who or what device is connected and if I need to block or stop wifi access to unknown devices/people or my own children, I have the ability to do so. We have a alot of smart plugs, lights, TVs, etc so we use a lot of wifi and so far this router has held up, with no buffering or dropped signals. The USB in the back has been a great benefit as well. We stuck a 1TB external hard drive in there. Its helped share files between devices keeping those sometimes sensitive tax or personal finance files off random USB devices or email when my wife and I need to share files, we just upload it to that mapped drive.

At the time of this review we will have used this router for ~2 months. Before this purchase we went through 3 different wireless routers in under 2 years. The Netgear Nighthawk AC1750 fared the best before the radio signal quality began to dip (this started after about one year of use). We tested other Netgears and an Asus router but they did not perform well in our house. Our house is a tri-level with a chimney running right through the middle of the floor plan, so we needed to find a router that could effectively penetrate the mortar between floors. Our internet source enters the house from a non-ideal location so router position cannot be changed without additional costs. After 2 months of use I can say that the TP-Link Archer AC4000 is by the far the most consistent solution for us. Main floor level range for 2.4 and 5GHz bands is reliable, and the 2.4 GHz band consistently reaches corners and diagonals better than all the other routers we've tried. It doesn't reach every weird angle of the house but at this price point I don't expect it to. In the past we've needed to restart the Nighthawk for the odd connectivity issues but I have not yet needed to do that, either. I don't have number data to include with this review, but I can safely say that wireless range and signal consistency is very good. Phones do not randomly disconnect from this router like they did with the Nighthawk. Speed has not been an issue before but it's still good here. After 2 months of heavy use by 10+ devices, mostly wireless, I can confidently recommend this router. Setup is easy as it was with Netgear and Asus models. The build quality is solid and the AC4000 performs as well as we need it to.

I’ve been very pleased with this router. It was fairly easy to set up and the range is great. I can see the range boost working in areas of my house that had little to no coverage. The parental controls are a real plus as well. My only concern is that the 5G bands do not always show up as options to connect with. Overall, 4 stars.

TP-Link AC4000 is an excellent router. This is my first TP-Link and I will buy this brand from now on. The best router I have used. Extremely fast. We get our max internet speed (200mbps) all throughout entire 1700 sq fthouse and outside. Handles our 12 devices no problem. Havent had any drops. Easy setup. Has its own internet security. App is great and easy to use. HIghly recommend.

I am using this as a replacement for a Netgear dual band router. This router performs flawlessly and with great speed. I have 2 separate 5g channels and the old 2.4 for some old cameras. On my gig service I consistently get 680 to 720mb over WIFI. It manages my whole home with ease and should I "flip" the toggle it will automatically assign devices to a WIFI band based on current usage. I have chosen to do this myself. I would recommend this to anyone looking for a fast tri-band router.

I have to say super happy with my purchase of this TP Link Tri Band Router. Set up was easy and the app is easy to navigate. Especially for setting Priorities and Age appropriate content for each device. I have 22 devices and all work well. I had a Nighthawk Router before. I totally love the TP Link

My previous R7000 was rendered near worthless by the latest firmware debacle. tried this AC4000 and couldn't be more satisfied. Speed tests at my ISP max speed day in, day out. Been running steady for a month without a reboot with over 15 devices connected. Great router for the money.

This router is really a superior product. My home is not large, but is a difficult geometry for every router that I've previously used. I just upgraded my internet service to 100MB and this box is blowing all of it to the farthest corners with ease. Easy to install and manage, most of the features are very intuitive to employ. I can't recommend this box enough. I thought I would have to go to mesh routers and spend 2 to 3 times as much.

This router is a great deal. I wanted a netgear 4000 series but was out of my price range. I saved a lot of money on this and works better than the netgear that my brother has. I’m glad I went with the TP link. It can handle any streaming even when 5 people are streaming at same time. Great for games or anything. Beat range also Iv ever seen

I had to replace an almost three year old TP-Link C5400 that died on me, and this was what I chose to replace it. Two 5Ghz bands, and one 2.4 Ghz band. It works well and seems to have sufficient power, though not as much as the C5400 it replaced. But even so, at almost $100 less it serves my need. The only drawback I see on any manufacturer's three band routers is they don't have enough channel selection within the 5 Ghz bands. Pretty much everyone offers the same 5 channels per band, and this vexes me because more are available and you can't over ride it. Still, this is a good router for the money. Setup is super easy if you are not tech savvy, so don't worry, it's pretty idiot proof.

Big, but not. Twice the size of my old one yet but too giant in the same spot. It's so powerful! I use my full bars at the neighbors house where my old one was choppy of even available. String signal through all three levels of my house. And just set it up to have 1 of 3 be your personal connection!
