I replaced a perfectly working Archer A9 with this one and I can say that it works noticeably better, smoother. My only gripe is that it doesn't have removable antennas, because I have on hand some aftermarket antennas that I could have used to upgrade and improve these substantially. Anyway, for an upgrade, this one is excellent.

Great router, especially for the price! I have 1000Mbps download and 20Mbps upload internet. It works better than the previous Links's and Net-gear routers I've had. The GUI is very user friendly with some great features like parental controls and live monitoring however the features are buggy and sometimes don't work at all. I've read other customers have had the same experience. Software updates aren't frequent, I'm sure they stick with the "if it's not broken don't fix it". Overall great router for the price but it could be improved!

This was a great router. It covered my house completely - previously I had a FiOS router and needed their wifi extender to reach the end of my house.
It's easy to set up, looks a bit 'out there' but I can live with that.
Unfortunately I have a USB HDD plugged in and every few days it will just disconnect. TP-Link don't know why and are still investigating. Unfortunately the terrible return policy that BestBuy have of 15 days is no where near enough time to trouble shoot with TP-Link. I should have just returned it the first day I had issues...

Bought this router to replace an outdated dual band router. It was easy to set-up (5 minutes) and immediately expanded the range of my network. The multiple bands are great for keeping certain devices on certain bands to ensure bandwidth (e.g., streaming) and the guest networks are useful too.

I live in a steel-framed building, and I've been fighting a losing battle with WiFi routers for years. As my family has increased it's bandwidth needs due to streaming, I needed a more up-to-date router to handle the traffic. The steel framing attenuates the signal significantly on one wing of my home, and in the past I have used various bridges, boosters, power-line networking, etc. to try to deal with it. With this new router there is a strong signal back there without the need for any other hardware! I even get a signal out in my detached garage, which is about 70-80 feet away through several walls. I haven't had to reset it either, which is nice!

I have been upgrading my home network to better streamline my demand of multitudes of devices. My older TP link C59 couldn't handle all the traffic so after much research I went with the TP link AC4000. Which right from setup was way more reliable, The traffic isn't choked anymore, I love that I can go into advanced settings and can choose which devices have priority over others. I definitely recommend this router, If your looking to upgrade to wifi6 standards, get more out of your network this router is great!

I bought this two months ago after purchasing a 4K TV (in addition to two other HDTV's that we frequently stream on) that proved too difficult for my old router to handle. The AC4000 has handled everything we have tossed at it without issue in our 3000 sq ft house with three people living in it. Both the speed (I have 100 Mbps service) and range of are exceptional.
This router much less expensive that it's Netgear rival and offers the same specs. I cannot recommend this strongly enough.

The appearance is good, but the antennas are a bit delicate and fragile. As for updates it is abandoned (last update was in 2019), compared to Asus which updates every 4 to 6 months. The signal is decent but for the price I expected better.

I purchased this router because of issues with gaming on IPhone 6S and IPad (original). I had replaced our modem three times and eventually replaced our router with the AC4000. Come to find out the issues I was experiencing was mainly due to an old IPad. However, this router has been working exceptionally and has good range. The download and upload speeds 10 feet and 40 feet away from router has been 236 Mbps / 11.4 Mbps respectfully with an Internet service that provides up to 200 Mbps (Can't complain about the results!!). Took awhile to grasp the user interface but after experimenting I was able to use this router in ~1 hour. OVERALL: I have no complaints

This is probably the best router I've owned (and I've owned a lot). I had previously bought a Linksys brand AC300 router that I had to return because it wouldn't connect to the internet. The installation of this router was trouble free and the range is excellent. I was previously using range extenders to boost the signal on my old router and I was able to remove them and had a stronger and faster connection on all my devices. I don't really like their configuration app though because it is very limited in settings as compared to my previous ASUS brand router. I would still recommend this router though.

Purchased this router on sale for well under $200 to replace my ISP provided router that did not work for some of my special networking/port forwarding needs. This TP-Link AC4000 router works like a charm. The combined tri-band Wi-Fi with a single SSID works great, devices will connect to the best available channel and frequency of either 2.4 or 5GHz, the router will automatically decide. With its quadcore CPU, this router has easily handled 20+ devices on my smart home network, including tons of 4k video streaming, VoIP phones and more. Additionally it can also serve as a file/print sharing/server with its two USB ports, one of which is USB 3 which not too many other routers offer. The set of security protection, controls and logging is also pretty good. Overall I am very happy with this router and will recommend it to others.

I'm so happy I chose this router. If you have the AT&T provided BGW210-700 router for fiber, the ac4000 will blow it out of the water. You will still have to use the BGW in ip passthrough, but you'll finally have fast, strong, reliable connections.
