I am 79 years old but had to update my Wi-Fi to work with new HP Laptop in order to program laptop to use. With new technology at my age it is a new learning curve for me and patience .

My Wi-Fi comes out of the wall on the east side of my condo. It did not reach the west wall. My whole home is a smart home. Everything electronic is controlled by my Alexa units. I have been complaining to my HOA that nothing is working for months. I finally got a service call that informed me I needed router to expand the signal to my entire home. Why couldn't they have told me that in the beginning. I've been suffering for months. Now everything works and I have not had to restart anything. It's a great help and a wonderful value.

It keeps dropping the wifi signal. I am not sure if it is the router or the modem and internet signal, but all I have had is trouble with this router, and I have only had it for about a month.

Hi starryeyestara
Thank you for your review. To ensure the best possible signal, optimal placement is essential. Reducing obstructions and placing the router in a central location will help ensure your signal reaches the needed areas.
To ensure optimal performance of your wireless router, please check, and if needed, update its firmware using the steps outlined in FAQ 2139 on our official website https://www.tp-link.com/us/support/faq/2139/
If you would like assistance with any of these steps, please contact our support team using any of the resources included with the product or from our official website, and we'll gladly have a Support Agent follow up with you directly.
Thank you, TP-Link Systems Support

It works.. just not as fast as the wireless router I rented from Spectrum. It's not an easy set-up. The TP chat support provides pretty decent info but geez do they need to dumb down the words and describe process's as push this button, unplug this cable, otherwise you better be ready to answer I don't know what you just said means. Be prepared to move it around and play with the antennaes. YET it is working well enough. My expectations were way to high as well.

Replaced an older router that just couldnt reach a key area of the house. This unit is better, but not 100% for that trouble spot. Setup was easy though. Will continue using for now.

Mostly garbage router, consistently loses connection somehow requiring full resets on the router. I need to constantly do this every few weeks when it decides to totally drop all connections. It works fine outside of this
