    Loving this router!!

Had a 4 year old D-Link router that was beginning to show its age. Wasn't getting great signals, also had a D-Ling extender for my Ring devices but still had a terrible signal with the extender about 20 ft from the furthest device. Almost made my Ring doorbell and camera useless. Got the AX6000, I work in IT and judging from past experiences, I decided to wait until Saturday to install it just in case something went wrong, which usually does. I could have done this one morning before work! Setup was flawless and only took about 15 minutes. Used the same SSID so all of my devices immediately picked up the WiFi network! I had already configured my D-Link to be an access point, installing it was simple too. Just connected it, changed the SSID to match my old extender and my devices connected! Love the 8 ports on the AX6000, I was able to dump my 4 port switch, 1 less device to think about. One device in particular was always losing connection to the WiFi, not anymore! Super fast, easy to set up and plenty of features that I will play with later. Oh the device furthest away from my network, the Ring camera, is now connecting as if it were 2 feet from the router. Now instead of taking at least a minute to connect (horrible when the alert goes off late at night) it now connects in a few seconds!

This router is junk, can’t handle too many connections and becomes unstable, this is a very well known issue. The customer support was the absolute worst I have ever encountered. I will never purchase a TP-Link again. Charged me $50.00 for overnight shipping on a warranty replacement and it took TWO WEEKS to arrive.

I'll just say it, this router is garbage. If you are looking for an example of the future of wifi with WiFi 6 this is NOT what you use to test it. Speeds are abysmal. No joke, my 5 year old Netgear router puts out faster wifi speeds than this does. For the price look elsewhere. I personally went with an Asus router after returning this one and haven't looked back. Good luck to anybody passed the return window

    SLOW 1/3 slower then a 99$ router

The only redeeming qualities are Tplinks setup app and reliability. The performance is terrible here and its crazy as that is why you would buy this product! I thought I would receive a speed upgrade from the Tplink ax1500 router. This was actually 1/3 slower on wireless and WIRED connections. *This is completely unacceptable for a device in this price range.* I am going to return it and get the tplink c4000 instead. Stay away from this faux wifi6 junk. The standard is not fully complete yet and this is why I am not going to be a beta tester anymore. In conclusion, the other reviews here are not a lie. They are the truth STAY AWAY FROM THIS ROUTER!

    Constantly drops connections

Poor wireless performance. My old 5 year old Netgear Nighthawk 7500 blows this one away. The reason I bought this one is to handle more traffic with 5 people home all day using the Internet. the Nighthwawk was over worked so I bridged the 2 routers. If I am upstairs in my room the signal drops with the TP-Link AX6000, but if I setup the Nighthawk as a lone router, no problems. The interface for the TP-link is has difficulty showing all the device connected even the hard wired computers. Taking this one back and going to go with another Netgear.

Don’t buy this if you have a lot of devices!

We have a lot of IoT devices and I thought this would be a great router. We have many TP-Link devices so surely they know how to build routers for the modern smart home right? Nope. Couldn’t figure out why some of my devices couldn’t connect and lose connection. DHCP maxes out at 95 clients. Kudos for the setup and interface. Total waste of money for me.

      Hi ShayF,

Thank you for your review. The Archer AX6000 is designed to provide the latest WiFi 6 technology with powerful, reliable signal throughout your home and robust features. In your case we first recommend ensuring the DHCP Server's IP Address Pool is customized to meet your requirements. This can be done within the router's configuration page under Advanced -> Network -> DHCP Server.

We also recommend ensuring dual-band devices are connected to the 5GHz spectrum, and single-band (2.4GHz only) devices are connected to the 2.4GHz spectrum for best results.

We always suggest making sure the router's firmware is fully up to date, as shown here: https://www.tp-link.com/us/support/faq/1369/

Our Support Team is always happy to answer any questions you might have about our products. Please feel free to email [email protected] and we'll gladly have a Support Agent follow up with you directly.

Poor upload speed and app sucks

    Posted .
This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.

it could be a great router but upload speed gets cut to one-third through his router - replace this router with any other router with the same set of cables and hardwired device - speed is one-third consistently - tested multiple days/hours. Support is worst of its kinds - clueless people and when the time to transfer to the next level, you are told contact them during Bejing hours - very interesting.
