Hi PatrickP,
Thank you for your review. TP-Link Wi-Fi Routers are compatible with Internet services that offer Ethernet connectivity (e.g., from a modem, ONT, or gateway), which is then connected to the router. If you have any questions or concerns about your trade-in, we recommend you contact Best Buy customer service for more information and support.

I'm amazed at how fast WiFi has gotten over the years, it's still best for gaming to be done over a wire, but unless your editing 4k video off a NAS or need the extra security of a wired only network, WiFi is really just not anything more than 'technically' worse than a wired connection.
TP-Link's got WiFi 7 locked down with this router and it works amazing, but don't lock the router in your basement, a concrete wall and floors boxing it in will sharply lower your connection speed and quality on these new faster WiFi 6 and 7 standards. So I reccomend getting it setup somewhere centrally located where it is going to be used the most for the best results.
If you're a home office user a couple features stand out to me as particularly nice to haves. That being on router OpenVPN server support, so If you need access to resources on your home/office network, you can connect to your own VPN and get access, Especially usefull if you have a NAS on your network, or even just plugged in an external drive to the USB 3.0 port on the back to let the router itself play light duty as a NAS. It also supports Dynamic DNS services such as NoIP so if you need an outside facing resource available from your home network, like the previously mentioned VPN server, and your Internet service does not give you a static IP, this on router compatibility with these services automatically updates the public facing IP with any hosted services, say you want to run your own server for a game you play with friends?
I'm not a fan of needing a TP-Link ID to use the APP for managing the router, that feels like it should be optional, but the app doesn't allow you to skip that. But otherwise the app gives you access to all the settings you can find in the web based management page so it's fully functional, and it does allow you to manage multiple routers and APs from a single space so that's cool.
And a big miss for me personally, that will likely not affect 98% of you who are considering this router, there doesn't appear to be any WDS support in the firmware, and while it does support "EasyMesh" for connecting multiple Routers/Mesh Nodes for expanded network coverage. Before Mesh Networking was established We used to be able to do something called Wireless Bridging, that let one router be the main router, and other routers act as 'Bridges' Connecting to the main router wirelessly and extending the network. It was less performant than current mesh networking, but as long as the router supported wireless bridging or 'WDS' it didn't batter what brand or model you used, you could use the router as a Wireless Network Extender.
Other TP-Link Routers have 3rd Party Firmware support such as DD-WRT, I am hoping that this one gets the same treatment. If it does, I'll come back to leave a comment about it.

The TP-Link - Archer BE11000 Tri-Band Wi-Fi 7 Router is very solid! It is fast and has taken everything I have thrown at it. It's range is really impressive and covers about 75% of my house alone. Ethernet (wired) speeds are consistent with my previous router. The WiFi speeds are quite a bit faster over 2.5 and 5 ghz, about 500mb/s on average. The WiFi 6 was a bit faster than that at about 650mb/s.
Installation was a pieve of cake. I have 1G Fios for internet so I just connected a cat 8 wire from the Fios box to the 10g port. I was actually able to do away with a 5 port hub I was using by using the other 4 2.5g ports. Done! I set up the app and was up and running in less than 15 minutes. It also looks nice, almost like a game console so no need to hide it Away.
I am currently using another brands WiFi mesh system that unfortunately was not easy mesh compatible so I was not able to test that functionality. I do plan on updating my mesh system with a TP-Link mesh system compatible with the router but I don't feel I'll need as many satelites because the coverage is already excellent. Overall, this is a great router that I will recommend.

I have installed a lot wireless routers over the years but I have never seen one that is easier to set up or offers better performance than the TP-Link Archer BE 1100 Pro.
I had this WiFi 7 wonder up and running and less than 10 minutes, compared to the hours I have sometimes spent getting mesh systems to work properly. And the performance was impressive, even before I upgraded to 2.5G Internet service.
I was running 300mbs for a while before that and found every device performed far better with the TP-Link router than any router I have ever owned. The same was true after I upgraded to multi-gig service.
WiFi 7 REALLY is faster folks, at least as implemented in this TP-Link router. Even if you don't have any devices that support WiFi 7 yet. All the devices I tested were either built around WiFi 6E or WiFi 6.
These results were all the more remarkable given that I was comparing it to a premium brand WiFi 6 mesh system router, which was only a few months old. It was an up-to-date model that supported up to a 2.5G internet connection.
The TP-Link router performed better at every level, despite it NOT being a mesh system. Reach and throughput were better throughout my 1,500 square-foot-home. Streaming video devices launched faster and ran more smoothly, along with other bandwidth hungry apps.
Of course the added bonus was how easy it was to set up this router. Once properly connected to the cable modem. all you have do is download the TP-Link Tether app, set up an account, and follow the prompts. It finds the router, has you enter the default SSID, name and password (provided with router) to get the first internet connection, and then change those to your own SSID, name and password. That's it. Super easy.
While the TP-Link router is not much to look at -- an old school black box with a stylized pinch in the middle -- what's inside seems to bs state of the art. It not only supports that latest and greatest WiFi 7 standard but internet connections of up to 10G. Which are still exceedingly rare.
Even better, there are four 2.5 G ethernet ports in the back for devices that require a wired connection, and six beamforming antennas inside to provide coverage for homes up to 2200 square feet.
Despite supporting multi-gig speeds on paper, be aware you need wired ethernet devices to actually reach 2.5G speeds with this router. In the real world, wireless speeds are generally less than half the advertised speed of your ISP, at best -- in the same room as the router. Speeds fall off rapidly as you move further away. I was hitting 200 to 400mbs at the most distant points in my home, with WiFi 6 and 6E devices.
The only thing unusual about the router design is the front. It features a long row of very bright white LEDs running from top to bottom. They are always on in normal operations but blink, animate or form patterns to reflect connection status or updates in progress. Physical buttons on the bottom of the panel allow you to turn those lights off, turn wi-fi on and off and activate WPS for auto wi-fi pairing. The app also has a setting to turn off the lights at night or any time period you choose.
Overall, it is a very simple but functional design.
Be aware all your devices cannot run off a single SSID name with this router. The new 6ghz channel supported by WiFi 7 requires its own SSID here. Everything else, runs under a different SSID which supports the old 5ghz and 2.4ghz channels of WiFi6 or lower.
This means if you have any devices that support the less crowded 6ghz channel, you will have to change the wi-fi setup on those devices to connect to that new SSID . While the 6ghz channel will likely perform better for you in the short term, since a lot less people are using it, that frequency does not carry as far as 5ghz or 2.4 ghz. So if distance and/or lots of walls between you and the router are an issue, locking in 6ghz may not be the best option.
If range is an issue, you can turn this stand-alone router into a mesh system by adding any EasyMesh node or extender. EasyMesh is a universal standard that some companies support and some don't. Do your research before buying. The app walks you through adding mesh nodes.
In theory, you should get even better performance from mult-link operations or MLO, a special feature of WiFi 7 that allows compatible devices to operate on multiple channels at the same time. This TP Link router supports that feature but it is off by default (you can turn it on in the app), probably because there are so few devices that now support WiFi 7. I don's have any WiFi 7 devices so could not test it.
As with most modern routers, those who like to get into the weeds and tweak the router settings must rely on the Tether app. (Web interface also available) It has parental controls, the ability to set up a guest network as well as network diagnostic and optimization tools. Also useful: The ability to turn on automatic firmware updates and scheduled weekly reboots for best performance. (Both off by default).
The only gripe I have about this router is that TP Link, like a lot of other companies in this business, pushes customers to purchase added features for monthly fees. Web and intrusion protection packages cost extra as does the ability to block hackers from your IoT devices.
Software solutions on your PC are probably adequate to deal with most of these issues but if you are the paranoid type, the add-ons are available.
WiFI 7 Routers are stilll very pricey compared to the older generation models but the TP-Link Archer BE-11000 Pro is more affordable than most at this level. If you have mutl-gig internet service, and devices that suppot WiFi 6E or 7, it is well worth considering.

This router has all the latest advanced and high-speed technology, including Wi-Fi 7, and 11 Gbps Tri-Band (6GHz, 5GHz, 2.4GHz) Wi-Fi. The WAN (internet) port is 10Gbps and it has 4 x 2.5 Gbps ethernet ports plus a USB port. It's fully compatible with all Wi-Fi generations, devices, and Internet providers.
Initial setup was very easy. I used the online browser interface from my laptop rather than their TP-Link Tether app to go through the setup. (I find browser interfaces generally easier and quicker to navigate than apps.) It walks you through the setup and alerts you to any issues making setup virtually foolproof. I have the router centrally located in my house and the Wi-Fi coverage is great, I can connect any of my devices from any room in my 3BR house and get a decent signal in close proximity outside my house too. Coverage range is supposed to be 1500 to 2500 sq ft and it seems I'm easily getting that range. I've had no connection problems with any of my devices.
I highly recommend downloading the manual and taking the time to review all the available features this router has to offer, which is a lot. Some features are highly technical that are more for advanced users but there's many options that would be useful to everyday users, including TP-Link Cloud for mobile access, a guest network, a separate Io T network to isolate smart home devices, Time Machine to backup to USB storage, parental controls, access controls, Easy Mesh capability, a network check tool to analyze and optimize your network, and more.
If you want a high-speed home router that's user friendly and can do anything and everything you want, this is it.

I have to say that this TP Link wireless router is most excellent both its range and performance. I noticed an immediate difference in the speed offered by my cable modem and between devices over the local network in my home. As for range it has proven to be well above average for a wireless access point. For example I have this installed in my living room and it provides rock steady coverage to the notorious “dark spot” in my master bedroom at the far back of my house. That alone makes this wireless router worth it.
Streaming 4K video is outstanding with little to no buffering on multiple devices at the same time from different services. I usually leave SlingTV on CNN streaming via my AppleTV while working. In the living room other family members will have the Roku TV running Hulu or Netflix in 4K at the same time while the youngest will have his PS5 going full bore in his room. All this heavy usage without a hiccup.
There is one minor quibble that is not TP-Links fault. If I am running the microwave in the kitchen then the connection comes and goes. It’s only happened a couple of times but I feel it worth the mention.
Overall this is an excellent wireless router.

I have been searching for a new router for several months as I have been “renting” our internet providers equipment for years, and they recently raised the price for renting substantially. I received the TP-Link Archer and have been very pleased that I did. First and foremost, I don’t have to rent this to enjoy internet.
Again, I had been researching the MANY options available and the first thing I wanted was something that was simplistic and easy to connect to, this TP-Link router is that. I installed the App and it made the process very simple, as it states, “in 3 easy steps” and that was exactly what I did, it was 3 very easy and my biggest fear of configuring the modem, was put to rest, because you simply follow the steps laid out in the App.
I also like the included Home Shield that is included, I have been having issues w/ our old, rented router that I had to purchase a VPN, which I like the protection, but I was having issues w/ connecting to sites, cameras, etc, that we already had and w/ the added protection of the Home Shield on this TP-Link Archer BE11000 router and the App that I now have on all my devices, its super easy to use and to know that we are protected.
I have two grandchildren and I really like the parental controls that TP-Link has w/ this router, my grandson is always visiting an its comforting to know that when he does visit and brings his iPad and he connects to our system that I don’t have to worry about the content that he is able to watch or download.
The one thing that I was a little turned off w/ was the physical size of the router, the old, rented router we had (which was much older than I realized) was a lot smaller in stature, granted, this may not be a turnoff for some people, I had built a shelf to house it inside our entertainment cabinet and will now have to made some modifications. And while it not the fault of TP-Link it was something I was hoping it would be around the same size and not as “bulky”. That is just a personal preference and it has absolutely nothing to do w/ the performance of this router.
If you are in the market for a very easy to setup and use router, I highly recommend the TP-Link Archer BE11000 Tri-Band Wi-Fi 7 router.

It has been many years since I have upgraded my Wi-Fi router. Part of the reason is because finding one that can support all my devices is tough. At any time, I will have 30+ devices hooked to my Wi-Fi including multiple game consoles. The TP link Archer definitely lives up to the hype.
Starting with the design, one of my favorite things is that it stands straight up like a book and does not have any antennas sticking off. I keep my router near my TV, but I am limited on space for it. With my old router I had to put a side stand next to the TV just for it because there was not enough room for the TV. That is not the case with this one, which is great.
The Tether APP make changing settings on the fly a breeze. However, I found that setting it up initially on a PC was a little easier. The amount of adjustment and protection this router offers is endless.
This router supports the all new Wi-Fi 7. It also has a Tri-band antenna which supports 2.4 ghz, 5 ghz, and 6ghz. Not all devices support 5 and 6 ghz yet. But this router allows you to have one Wi-Fi network that will automatically switch between the bands to be the most compatible with each device. Or you can choose to have separate networks.
Whether you need a router for your basic school or work function, or the most extreme gaming, the Archer is the router for you. If you have a large house and a ton of devices than this router can support, it all without any problems. All well you can have peace of mind that the built in protection and defense will keep your safe while on the internet.

First off, let me say wow
I have an aging mesh wireless network with roughly 50 devices connected. Going all-in on a smart home has its requirements
When I upgraded my internet service from what was fast 7 years ago to what is fast now, my router became the bottleneck
So…I did my homework and bought the new TP-Link router
Packaging is what you would expect, and they were considerate enough to provide an applicable Cat8 cable to use - however it is short
Putting my existing router in bridge mode, I then set-up the TP-Link router using their “Tether” iPhone app. Honestly, it could not been easier or faster
Once the TP was up and running and my existing network was still connecting to the legacy devices, it was time to move the stationary and high bandwidth devices such as streaming TV, laptops and iPads over to the TP-Link. Low bandwidth stay on the legacy mesh
The entire process took less than 30 minutes and I saw between a 2-5x increase in speed on the streaming services connected to the TP router and no degradation on the devices on the mesh
My last step is to upgrade the remaining cat 6 cables to cat 8
This will squeeze the last amount of speed and make my network last another 7 years
