I was looking for an inexpensive, newer AP router with a smaller footprint and found that this met those conditions. The antennas are a bit of an eyesore, but they are helpful and the range is definitely better than my previous non-external antenna AP router. Integrated well and the TP-Link app is a boon for managing it with a phone. Lots of newer features, but nothing over the top.

I love my new router! It was easy to set up. My wifi range is much better too. I was a little nervous about switching from Nighthawk Netgear but they were out of the one I wanted. I am really satified with this one!

It’s definitely way faster than my old Linksys router. I have a small apartment so it’s hard to say how good the range is. Setup through the tether app was fairly straight forward if you are somewhat techy, and it’s nice to be able to control everything from the app.
My complaints: My old HP printer will not connect to this router. My printer will only connect to 2.4ghz. I tried turning off the smart connect and connecting directly to the 2.4ghz but still no go. Spent hours trying to trouble shoot on my own messing with settings. Called the TP link customer service and spent about an hour on the phone with them. Rep told me they had to reach out to the escalation team and said they MIGHT call me back - they could not guarantee they would call me. It’s been over 2 weeks and I never got a call back from them. So now I have to go buy a new printer because I need to be able to print for work. I’m sure there is a way to get the printer to connect, but I couldn’t figure it out and their customer service couldn’t figure it out and they never followed up with me.
Pros:
- fast
- tether app has lots of controls and you can see all connected devices which is nice.
- good for gaming
Cons:
- not great customer support from my experience.
- won’t let my printer connect to the internet.
- set up might be a little tricky for some people if you struggle with techy stuff (I’m 100% sure my mother would need help with setup).

Very happy with this router. Using it to cover a 1500sq. ft. vacation house in the mountains and it works great. Set up to a fiber optic system and the signal strength is great. Able to feed multiple devices at the same time with no issue

I bought this when my previous router failed and what an upgrade this is. My router is centrally placed in my home and it was hard to get a signal anywhere, even with extenders, but this model does that with ease. And even though my extenders were older TP-Link mods, they still connected with ease, allowing me to set up a whole home mesh. One network everywhere.

Ease of installation; Software/Admin control interface is intuitive. Connected to a new Fiber Internet Broadband service with Zero(0) issues. Very flexible capabilities depending on if you're a novice or have a need to bit-twiddle.

It is very fast, I went from a 7 year old Asus router to this one and it increased the wifi speed by 100mbps on the same service. It has a big foot print though that the wall mounting is odd is because you have to hang the CAT5 out of the top the way the screw head slots are mounted. But it works very well. I did have to update the firm ware to keep it from randomly dropping the network. I currently have a total of 13 devices on the network and a Pi 5 running Pi-Hole as an odd blocker and there is no problems what so ever. The Pi, Switch, Xbox One and Roku is all wired. All other devices are Wifi connected.

Haven't had the chance to try a lot of the extra features or, but am really happy with this router so far.
My couple of year old Linksys mesh system started having of problems dropping connection at of times. Went through Spectrum, thinking it might be a service problem but they could talk to the modem just fine. Very frustrated that an expensive system would not last very long, I bought this. Not a single problem since seeing it up!
The setup is very easy and I like that I can get to the settings by going to the IP address instead of using an app (or it bugging me to use the app). UI is pretty intuitive.
Hopefully, I'll get more than a year or two or of this, I picked up a range extender also to try to recover the coverage of the mesh system, so we'll see how this goes! I can't wait to get some time to try some of the special features out.
