I had previously purchased this item a couple years ago and had never had any issues with it. I needed another and purchased another. I like the ease of the set up and use of this product. Does exactly what i need it for!

This worked like a charm to extend the wifi signal beyond the original signal. I set this up just at the edge of the original signal and it blasted it quite a bit further -- through walls, etc. to a detached garage apartment. Easy setup. My only complaint is that the unit gets very warm. Hot, even. I don't leave it plugged in all the time because of that so it's a little bit of a hassle.

Works great. Placed it in the second story of my home and it really increased the range of my modem. It was also very easy to set up.

Product works great. Easy to setup. Took a few minutes to sync with my router. Wifi extends all through my home.

I needed it set up as a mesh system, but the included instructions & default set up is for the wifi extender system. I didn't know this, & set it up according to the instructions. To set it up as a true mesh system was not exactly easy, especially if your modem doesn't have a traditional WPS button like my AT&T fiber modem. Had to get Ai to step by step walk me through setting it up. But, there's no way to quickly check if it's working as an extender or mesh except going to the TP-link website and looking at the IP addresses for all your devices. TLDR; took a lot longer to set up correctly and there's not a quick, definitive way to double check which configuration its in after set up.

Including my finished basement , where my office is located, I have four floors of my home for my wifi to reach throughout. I also work remotely from home so I have had issues with holding video calls from my office as the modem & router can only be located on the top floor due to the wiring in my home. You will need to plug it in first right next to your modem and router for it to connect, then you can move it wherever you want. Once I plugged it in I immediately attempted a video call in my basement. Initially I did not notice much difference, however it has seemed to improve over time. None of my video calls have been dropped in the basement office, and another good thing about it is that the app helps you locate an ideal location for the wifi extender. All in all, it seems to be adding some efficiency and speed to our home wifi, and with four floors, several iPads, smart TVs, Alexa devices, smart appliances, laptops, and smartphones. I can't say it is a huge game changer worth the higher price tag (I feel), but it is decent and does the job for sure.

I replaced a former Wi-Fi extender with this TP-Link AX3000 Dual Band Extender and the improvement in the extension of the signal was superb. Now my entire house has uninterrupted connection.

This unit really boosted the distance I could get internet. Before part of my multi-storied house was unable at access the internet. Using this eliminated that problem, and extended the coverage to my outside patio. Very happy.

I bought this for my elderly parents and uncle. Parents live on one side of the street and my uncle recently moved in across the street. We needed a way to get internet to his little house. Their router did it, but TV would buffer constantly. I put this in his living room on an outside wall facing their house. It did the trick and he can now spend his days watching old westerns on his favorite Roku channel!

Runs very well! Couldn’t get service to our barn until we made this purchase. Made the signal strong enough to give us service to our barn for internet.

Very easy to use and set up. Works as advertised and definitely helps cover the entire home.

Works great from my downstairs garage to my apartment above. My duplex neighbor has the main router in her place and we share AT&T internet to cut costs. This extender replaced our old AT&t rental extender, cutting costs even further! Streaming, work from home, web surfing - no problems at all!

It was surprisingly easy to set it up to work with my TP-Link router to form a mesh network. It's working through 5 walls upstairs across my house. The only downside is there's no option for ethernet backlink to the router, but you can do ethernet from the extender to a device.

Simple setup and great range. Perfect for ensuring our hime has full wifi coverage.

We have some Amazon Blink cameras place around the outside of our house. A couple of the cameras in the front worked when we put them up, but stopped working a short time later. It turned out they were right at the limit of the range of the wifi router. Adding this range extender not only allowed the cams to be reliable, they also tended to alert faster when something triggered them. It was an excellent investment. It was easy to set up. We used WPS to add it to the network. We did have to enable WPS on the router, which is the case with some routers.

If I were to rate this product solely on its functionality as a range extender I would probably give it 3 or 4 stars. As with most range extenders it functions much better if you've got a wired backhaul. I've also found that it is overall much better used solely at 2.4ghz. I understand that 5ghz has a more limited range, but I've got other range extenders that do 5ghz which I've tried in the same spot to see how this stacks up and honestly, I've found that my devices will become disconnected from this one intermittently while with the others rarely. I suppose if you don't need the speed boost that goes along with 5ghz and are fine with 2.4 this would be fine. I had no problems on that frequency. All that said, I can't just judge this extender on its wifi performance alone because there have been some poor design choices made for it that range from annoying to use (at a minimum) to possibly dangerous at the other end of the spectrum. Upon removing the unit from its box I was disappointed to find that the wall plug is located at the bottom of the back of the unit, is in a fixed position, is only 2 pronged rather than 3. Also the unit weighs approximately 310g (about 11oz) so it's not exactly lightweight. All of this is quite annoying for a couple of reasons. One is gravity. I've found that over time the unit starts to tip forward away from the wall exposing the two prongs of the plug due to its weight. Not great, especially if you have it in a location accessible to children. That can be downright dangerous. Having the plug be 3 prong would have helped with the stability a bit as well as provided grounding. Or better yet, have the plug located near the TOP of the back of the unit! If the plug were near the top I am sure I wouldn't have seen it pulling out of the outlet as much, if at all. This next reason I was disappointed may be more specific to my own situation, but I'm sure there are others like me for whom this may also be a problem. I have an outlet near the top of a wall that I wanted to use for the extender which, for whatever reason, was installed horizontally rather vertically. My older extender, which I had intended this one to replace, had a plug that swiveled to accommodate this so it wouldn't be sideways when plugged in. As mentioned earlier, this extender's plug is fixed in position and cannot be rotated so in order to have it up there in its intended orientation I had to go and buy an adapter to plug into the wall that had its receptacles rotated by 90 degrees. It's an extra expense, makes the whole assembly stick out an extra 1.75 inches from the wall, and is just plain UGLY(see photos). Why tp link? Just why? In summary, it gets 2 stars because while it does indeed extend your wifi range mostly as advertised, tp link's design choices mean that this really a non-option for me.

This was so easy to plug in and connect to our Wi Fi and use. It solves the problem we were having with our computer freezing up and having a lower Wi Fi signal.

Gives us better internet in back rooms! Its much better than most!
