      Hi John,

Thank you for your review. If you haven't noticed a significant improvement in Wi-Fi coverage after installing the extender, we recommend relocating the unit to a position within your home where the router's Wi-Fi signal is sufficiently strong; yet far enough from the router to effectively extend its range. Please verify the RE status LED is indicating a solid connection.

We also recommend ensuring the extender's firmware is fully up to date using the steps outlined in FAQ 1406 on our official website: https://www.tp-link.com/us/support/faq/1406/

If you would like assistance with any of these steps, please reach out to our support team using any of the resources included with the product, or from our official website, and we'll gladly have a Support Agent follow up with you directly.

Only 1/3 of the avaliable bandwidth is extended when combined with anothe TP Link router. No IoT and No Guest network. And no MLO, so I guess only 1/4 of the avaliable bands. It will cut the speed down to 1/2 compared to the main router, the other 1/2 is used for backhaul I'm guessing. I'm not seeing anything close to 1/2 of the advertised speed. would not recommend TP Link at all. The cost of learning my lesson is high. And

      Hi,

Thank you for your review. For IoT and Guest Network configuration and administration, these features are typically supported and managed by the router. If your goal is to achieve unified IoT and Guest Network management, as well as seamless MLO support, we would suggest considering one of our Wi-Fi 7 Deco Whole Home Mesh Wi-Fi Systems.

In the meantime, if you haven't noticed a significant improvement in Wi-Fi coverage after installing the extender, we recommend relocating the unit to a position within your home where the router's Wi-Fi signal is sufficiently strong, yet far enough from the router to effectively extend its range. Please verify the RE status LED is indicating a solid connection.

I’m running a TP link wifi 7 mesh network in my home currently, but have a couple of area’s that have degraded coverage, especially the outside which is where I have my cameras so I want to make sure coverage is strong, especially when I decide to watch some sports outdoors. Thinking that both systems are TP Link, I thought this would have been a perfect match but wasn’t really the case for me. The system instructions are minimal, it basically tells you how to connect but doesn’t explain the options and features of the device. The app doesn’t offer much information either. I was disappointed that I needed a different phone app for this than I do my TP Link mesh network, would have been nice to manage it all from one place. Setup was easy though. Easymesh technology that comes with the extender is not available on my mesh network, since I was trying to add this as an access point to my network, I was hoping this was the case. After reaching out to support via chat for a better understanding if this was a signal booster/repeater or just creates another wifi network in your home. It appears to create a separate network for your home and just adds “_EXT” to your original SSID. This was a bit disappointing in the fact that now I would need to connect all my devices to this extender separately. If you try to create it using the same SSID as your home network then it will pop-up 2 different SSID’s with the same name among your networks, so not the best option. However, despite all this I have found a better use for it. My wife works from home and her laptop does not run the latest Wifi 7/6GHz technology which is limiting her speed and stability. I plugged the extender in her office and ran a network cable from the ethernet port of the extender and just like that she has wifi 7 speeds hard-wired into her laptop! So that is a big bonus of this extender. Would also be ideal for connecting to gaming systems that may not have the fastest wireless internet connection. The Tether app seems a bit buggy, I was using it on Android and iPhone, and Android seemed to work a little better. Sometimes it would connect and other times it wouldn’t connect to the extender even though I was on the extenders’ network. Regarding the signal and coverage outdoors, I went outside to test my signal strength and speeds, and my home is an all-brick home, and even though I was right outside the wall where the extender was the signal was pretty weak. Walking another 20 feet away, it told me I had no internet connection on this network. Overall, it does communicate well with my main network and acts great for wanting to hardwire devices to the wifi. I moved the extender to a couple of spots within my home including the garage and never got a weak signal to the main network. Hoping newer versions of the app will help stability, and I do like that there are no cords with the extender, it plugs directly into a wall. So that means no losing power cables or worrying about mounting the device, it stays on the wall where its plugged in which I think is convenient. I recommend to make sure your current router has the Easymesh network tech if you plan on utilizing that before getting this.

      Hi Nawlage,

Thank you for your review. If you haven't noticed a significant improvement in Wi-Fi coverage after installing the extender, we recommend moving it to a spot inside your home where the Wi-Fi signal from the router is strong enough but still far enough away to effectively extend its range. I recently upgraded an older Wi-Fi 5 router to the TP-Link Archer BE6500 Wi-Fi 7 Router connected to a Gigabit fiber Internet ISP. Despite its great overall coverage, signal strength and download speeds are low enough in some far corners of the house to warrant an additional device. That’s where the latest model of the TP-Link - BE11000 Wi-Fi 7 Range Extender comes into play to save the day. Since I already had the TP-Link Tether App installed, adding the BE11000 Range Extender was a breeze. The setup went smoothly, just plugged it into an available outlet and added a new range extender device. Once it becomes part of the same Wi-Fi network, you can get lots of useful information about the network, devices using the Extender, transfer speeds, signal strength, etc. If you don’t have an Ethernet cable run between your router and the Extender for the backhaul, make sure you place the extender somewhere within your router’s Wi-Fi coverage area to guarantee a reliable connection and good bandwidth. I don’t yet have any devices with an actual Wi-Fi 7 NIC, but my phone and a few PCs do have Wi-Fi 6E. I ran most Wi-Fi tests using a Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra and a Windows 11 laptop and was able to get nearly the same download speeds near the Extender as I was getting near the router ~ 850 Mbps So the Extender is installed in the sunroom, and I’m still getting over 400 Mbps out in the yard - mission accomplished. This TP-Link - BE11000 Wi-Fi 7 Range Extender covers all far side areas of the house, the deck and the yard quite well thanks to 4 high performance antennas with Beamforming technology. The EasyMesh technology works great with TP-Link routers but it is universally compatible with most other brands. In conclusion, this TP-Link BE11000 Wi-Fi 7 Range Extender is packed with the latest technology and great performance providing an affordable way to expand your existing network without having to spend big bucks on an entirely new mesh system.

      Hello George,

This could very well be a result of placement. Extenders have to be placed in an open and unobstructed that is between the router and area you want to extend coverage to. It also has have a strong signal from the router as it can only provide what it receives.

Extender begun dropping WIFI after 10-12 days of flawless operations. Display LEDs are working, unit is connected and reachable, but does not perform its primary function i.e. does not extend the signal range. We read that majority of users are rating it as a great extender, but we have difficulties to understand why such expensive high tech unit is so unreliable. For comparison Apple product worked flawlessly extending signal for years.

      Hi CreoX,

Thank you for your review. If you haven't noticed a significant improvement in Wi-Fi coverage after installing the extender, we recommend relocating the unit to a position within your home where the router's Wi-Fi signal is sufficiently strong; yet far enough from the router to effectively extend its range. Please verify the RE status LED is indicating a solid connection.

We also recommend ensuring the extender's firmware is fully up to date using the steps outlined in FAQ 1406 on our official website: https://www.tp-link.com/us/support/faq/1406/

If the Extender's LEDs indicate normal operation, we recommend making sure the wireless devices you are testing connectivity with are detecting and connecting to the extender's network and not your router's. Some wireless devices may implement less aggressive roaming (the act of automatically switching between nearby Wi-Fi sources) settings than others, so double-checking the signal source on those devices may help.

For years, I've relied on TP-Link devices - in both wired and wireless forms - to power my home network. I've generally found them to be solid, easy to set up and super stable when in use, rarely requiring any extra attention. This Wi-Fi 7 range extender is a great example of what they can do with the latest and greatest tech. The basic reason to buy a Range Extender is because you need more coverage on your existing Wi-Fi network. At that task, this BE11000 excels, offering excellent speeds (though still less than off the primary router, which you'd expect since it's re-transmitting the signal) and a huge boost in coverage with it's 4 external antennas. Setup is easy via WPS or the app (which is recommended) and you can plug it in and (as long as you have your Wi-Fi network ID and password) be up and running in just a few minutes. If you're using other "Easy mesh" products form TP-Link, this process is even a touch easier as it will automatically join the network, set the SSD and so on. In extender mode, you can use the wired Ethernet port for high speed wired internet. You can also use the BE11000 like I'm using it - leveraging the 2.5Gb ethernet port as an INPUT, connected to my network then turn the repeater into a high volume / high performance access point to create a new network. With this configuration, you get all the control to set up your second network just the way you like it in a clean and straightforward manner. Range is still excellent and speeds are even better (up to 2.5Gb each way, though it depends on many factors including age of the device, type of Wi-Fi chips on the device and so on. Is if you could use more range and are looking for either a repeater OR an access point, this is a great option - and future proof with Wi-Fi 7 but plenty usable as it will connect to USB-C (gen 3.2) easily. Give it a try today! There are other ways to use this

I am using this to extend a Deco Wi-Fi 7 mesh network. It has worked flawlessly. When using as a extender, I have it set up with the same network name as my Deco. The speed is pretty solid, not quite what you would get by adding a node, but the tradeoff is very acceptable considering I was looking for something to make my network available around my pool area for streaming music or working while relaxing. Not exactly a need for another node for the mesh. While this is not advertised to work with the Deco, it was a very easy setup thru their tether app. I already had the app installed to manage the outlet for the lights by the pool. Unfortunately, you can not access the repeater from the Tapo app. That would be nice to only need one app to rule them all. Once again, I am using as a extender/repeater. This just makes it a little more straightforward of a setup. Also, I can access all my network devices without a bunch of special routing and no cabling required. It would also be nice to manage through the Deco app, it might make more sense to keep networking equipment out of the iot managing app. I am very pleased with this and would definitely recommend to anyone, no matter the network type.

This is one of those products that's hard to write a review for, because it just works. No fuss, no jumping through hoops. Basically just plug it in, download the Tether app to set it up (e.g. connect it to your existing network), and then you're done. The App will tell you if you set it up too far or too close to your existing access point, so you can find a better location for it. Once you've got that perfect spot (I only moved it once), there is nothing more you have to do. It just broadcasts the existing Wifi, so there aren't multiple networks to connect to, you don't have to update any of your devices... you just get stronger signal in the area you setup this range extender. This is of course assuming you were able to set it up as a EasyMesh device, if your main router supports EasyMesh. I believe you can also set it up as an actual extender/repeater, where it connects to your main wifi, and then broadcasts its own wifi signal as a different network. This is less idea and will result in poorer performance (and also means you have to manage which devices connect to which network). You can also set this up as a standalone access point. Meaning you can connect it via ethernet, and have it broadcast a manually configured wifi. This is good if you want to run ethernet to a particularly far away location, and have wifi there. So, this device can be used for a host of different network configurations/scenarios, which is equally nice. But I'd wager that it best suited as an EasyMesh device, where it is really only a couple taps away from plug-n-play. I will note that my main router is another TP-Link router, so that may have contributed to the ease of setup. If you are using a non TP-Link main router, there may be added steps needed on the main router.

This is quite a fully featured device, aside from standard wi-fi extender functionality a lot of these kinds of devices have this can act as a mesh node for compatible TP-Link Easy Mesh capable routers or be just an access point using the onboard ethernet as the back end. I've been using it to extend a wired network, the Wi-fi Reaches where I need internet, but the devices use wired connections, so I have it setup and connected to the main network over wi-fi like most range extenders, however, I instead have it connected to a switch rather than having it rebroadcast the Wi-Fi again. Devices connected to the switch in turn have connection and are managed by the main network router in another room, and I did not have to drill holes and run cables to extend the network. Which is great because the landlord would likely not approve of me putting holes in the walls. The wired connection on this is a 2.5gig connection, and it has Wi-Fi 7, including the host of speed increasing features available there like link aggregation to use connections from multiple antennas to increase overall bandwidth. Devices I have connected to the extender don't seem to be getting any worse speeds than those wirelessly connected to the main router directly, and I'm not noticing any significant latency increase either, I don't typically recommend people use range extenders, but if you have an easy mesh compatible router, or have a niche use like my own, this actually works a treat. My only complaint is that the thing plugs directly into the outlet itself rather than use a separate power adaptor and that kind of limit's the placement to wherever an outlet is directly unless you run a lead to mount it somewhere more specific.

Easy to Setup, Works Great with WiFi 6E, 7 Clients

Easy to setup. There is a QR code on the quick install guide to see setup videos. I setup using the Tether App on my smartphone. You can also setup via web browser or using the WPS button on the device and the WPS button (or software WPS function) of your router. Note that if using WPS, you cannot use with router's 6 Ghz band, since WPA3 doesn't allow WPS connection, and WPA3 is required for using 6 Ghz band. I used this to extend WiFi to place that was a bit of a dead spot WiFi wise due to the material in my floors/ceiling in my 1960's house. For some reason it really causes the WiFi to "die out" going through the floors/ceiling from the basement to upstairs. With this I was able to use the 6 ghz signal for the best speed and put this extender right up close to the ceiling downstairs and get a good signal from the router upstairs about 9 feet away. Now I have good speed to my WiFi 5, 6, 6E, and 7 devices in that basement room (about 600ish up and down on WiFi 6E and 7 clients) AND an ethernet port for the gaming console down there. The ethernet port on the extender is capable of 2.5 Ghz link speed as advertised, I checked it with a desktop with a 2.5 Ghz ethernet port. If trying to get that working, make sure you have a good quality CAT6 cable or better to get the higher link speed. A win-win for sure. Very happy with the outcome with this extender for my use case.

The next generation range extender for the home with the latest and greatest needs for speed. This this sets up super easy and works great with all recent wifi technologies. The only real negative I found was that it was only a two prong plug which means because of the weight it could come loose from the wall. I have a power block that allows me to place the range extender on its side and that distributes the weight. I am also particularly excited because this range extender has an included 2.5G port which matches my mesh wifi 6E system which also has a dedicated 2.5G port. The quality is great and I expect this range extender to compliment my existing system quite well. I do plan to do additional testing for my streaming television services but again this seems like a best in class use case. A feature that some people will appreciate if the ability to manage or watch and make adjustments based on power consumption. If price is not a concerning factor for this range extender then I would highly recommend it as probably the best available in my opinion and based on my current and previous tests.

I have this weird dead spot in my bedroom despite being 20 feet from the router. Wifi signal just drops to 1-2 bars and not sure why. Rather than sit on the phone with my ISP, figured a range extender would solve the problem better than any CS rep could. I had a smaller TP-Link range extender years ago that worked well so I figured I stick with the brand this time around. As far as performance goes, this works great. Wifi speeds are great and it "reaches" that dead spot in my bedroom so now I can surf the internet at peace. I have gigabit internet so the speeds I'm getting are around the 700-800 Mbps which is great for me. Previously I was only getting 100-200Mbps just relying on the modem router. However, the biggest issue I have with this is the design. This thing is unwieldy to say the least. it only has one prong on the back and covers up an entire outlet, and then some, just being so big. the fact this thing is so big, and you lose access to the second outlet AND it's not really sturdy when you plus it in makes this thing awkward. That and there is only one ethernet outlet on this extender. Fortunately, the only outlet I had free to use this was next to my dresser so I can sort of push the dresser against the extender to prevent it from falling out. Considering the design, I would've much preferred a power cord and the ability to wall mount this thing someplace higher. Yeah, it would've looked ugly but I think that would've been a better use case than this thing hogging one whole outlet.

No, I would not recommend this to a friend

      Hello,

Thank you for your review. We're delighted to hear our Wi-Fi 7 Range Extender is providing ample range and performance for your Wi-Fi extension needs. We appreciate your feedback regarding the design of the device. If placed upright in the upper outlet, the lower outlet should remain accessible for small to normal sized plugs. Nevertheless, we'll gladly pass along your feedback to our development team.

Our support team is always happy to help answer any questions you may have about our products. Please feel free to reach out using any of the resources included with the product, or from our official website, and we'll gladly have a Support Agent follow up with you directly.
