I have been experiencing intermittent outages. The router will lose internet connection for upto a minute and then it comes back up online. I thought there was something wrong with my internet but I verified by connecting multiple devices to my ISP Router and to Deco and confirmed that Deco kept losing service.

So i bought this and throughout my 2 story 3800 sqft house, the wifi signal is fine, but the internet speeds and frequent disconnections frustrate me. All units are hardwired. I even bought BE5000 deco extenders in near problem areas and it is a disaster. Their support is worthless and there are not enough diagnostic features in the deco app to be able to troubleshoot what the coverage and speed issues are. And yes i ran network optimization and tried the miltiple different network options to get things running smooth. I would look to a different manufacturer entirely after this experience.

I wanted something better than the google wifi with more control and this seemed like the best option. Little did I know, it woule be a nightmare to manage. It constantly has connectivity issues with devices. My Eccobee thermostat refuses to stay connected no matter what I do. Other Apple Home devices struggle at times as well. Forcing me to reboot it constantly just to get it to work properly for basic devices like Apple TV. Unfrotunately I didnt realize the return policy was only 15 days so I’m stuck with it now. Don’t make the same mistake I did. Stick with Google or someone that has perfected mesh wifi.

The mesh works ok so far. I did notice some latency issues at times and the wifi has been dropping periodically but reconnects. I never had these issues with my Orbi. At thisbpoint I'm on the fence about returning and getting the new Orbi mesh or a different Deco altogether

If you have 2.4g devices do not buy. If you turn off 5g, it appears to render 2.4g useless. No way to guarantee your device connects to 2.4. By the way trying to use guest as 2.4 is the same. These things are too expensive to not have all settings working.

      Hi,

Thank you for your review. We're happy to let you know that you don't need to disable the 5GHz band of your Deco Mesh Wi-Fi System. Your 2.4GHz Wi-Fi devices cannot detect, see, or interface with 5GHz Wi-Fi, so leaving it enabled should not make any difference to your 2.4GHz devices. They will only see and connect to the 2.4GHz band.

Unless I am mistaken, my older Linksys has a stronger signal. I have a AT&T fiber connection and I followed all the TP-Link instructions. Due to the lack of coverage, I re-enabled my old Linksys router to support this brand new mesh setup. I am hoping the next firmware update will resolve the range issue.

First impressions count abd the Deco BE16000 certainly does the job. The packaging protects them and the nodes are modern-looking, and feel very sturdy. Not only are they functional but they look good too. They're cylindrical and just a bit larger than a smart speaker. When sitting on a shelf, they look like a small sculpture or a decorative vase. After downloading the TP Link Deco app, set up is a breeze. I set up the first node on the top floor of the house, closest to the modem and have several devices connected to it via ethernet. The house is about 3100 square feet and I placed one node on each level - second floor, first floor, and basement. Adding the second and third node to the first was equally as simple and I have strong signals on each level - even the basement! If you hadn't already thought of this, I started making a list several days earlier of all of the items I would need to reconnect to the new router. Swapping out routers is easy - it's reconnecting devices that takes time. Fortunately, each device found the router and connected without any issues. Each node has 4 ethernet ports, including a 2.4ghz, and an additional USB port. I've got 20+ devices connected and still get my Spectrum provided 500+ speed on all levels of the house. This was an upgrade from my previous Wifi6 system so I might not see as dramatic an improvement as someone upgrading from something lesser. However, I like to think of it as "future-proofing", at least for a couple years. The app is very user-friendly and sends you a notification as you connect new devices. It also show you that each node is connected and working properly.

The TP-Link Deco BE16000 is a very impressive WiFi mesh system. It is a beautifully designed system with each unit looking right at home wherever you place it. Setup is as simple as it gets. Compared to previous routers I’ve used, I had this up and running within minutes. The app is incredibly easy to use. The ability to run wired devices off of each unit is nice. I’ve had other mesh systems where you could only do that with the main unit. Each of the three devices is considerably larger than the other systems I’ve used. However, the range with the Deco is considerably better and you have a lot more technology built in so I don’t really feel the size is an issue. Regardless of what you are using ( WiFi 7 or something lower) the range is exceptional and the signal strength is incredibly solid. Now at the time I’m writing this, the number of WiFi 7 compatible devices on the market can probably be counted on your fingers. But, don’t let that stop you from considering the Deco BE160000. There may not be much for WiFi 7 devices now, but with the speed technology changes there will most likely be many devices in short time. You are not likely to upgrade your home WiFi very often so you might as well be future proof. Also, you don’t need to be using WiFi 7 to benefit. The exceptional range & signal works with all previous WiFi versions. I can highly recommend the TP-Link Deco BE16000.

The Deco BE16000 quad-band mesh Wi-Fi 7 system is a high-end and feature-rich mesh networking solution that delivers impressive performance in terms of speed, stability, and coverage. With its cutting-edge Wi-Fi 7 technology, AI-driven mesh capabilities, and multiple Gigabit ports, the system caters to demanding users with a large number of devices. Pros: Easy Setup: The installation process is seamless and straightforward. The Deco app is intuitive, offering a user-friendly interface for managing advanced settings. Impressive Wi-Fi Performance: All Wi-Fi bands (6, 6E, 7) provide fast and stable connections. The AI-driven mesh system efficiently handles numerous devices simultaneously. Versatile Connectivity: Each node includes four WAN/LAN ports and a USB-A port, offering flexibility for connecting various devices. Sleek Design: The nodes have an elegant and simple design that blends well with home interiors. The build quality is excellent, with sturdy construction and a premium feel. Low Latency: Well-suited for applications like multiple security camera streams, on-demand videos, and online gaming. Cons: Limited Web Browser Configurator: The web browser configurator is basic, and have to use the mobile app for better functionality. Subscription-Based Features: Advanced features like Web Protection, Intrusion Prevention, and advanced Parental Controls are locked behind a subscription paywall, diminishing the overall value. Design & Setup: The Deco BE16000 is a visually appealing and well-constructed mesh Wi-Fi system. The nodes are impressively large and heavy, featuring a sleek design that seamlessly blends into my home interior. The inclusion of four WAN/LAN ports and a USB-A port on each node is a thoughtful touch, providing ample connectivity options for various devices, such as security cameras and IoT hubs. Setting up the routers is a breeze, using the TP-Link Deco app. The app guides users through the process seamlessly, making it easy to add and configure nodes. We have a single node linked to our media center, establishing connections with our smart TV, Apple TV, Fire TV, and our outdoor home security camera system, and it operates exceptionally well. Firmware updates are straightforward, enhancing the overall user experience. The app's well-organized interface allows to access essential settings, including IoT network management, QoS prioritization, address reservation, and more. Despite the easy setup process, the restriction of some features behind a subscription paywall is a drawback. The subscription model might deter few who expect a comprehensive set of features without additional costs. The Deco BE16000 impresses with its high-speed, stable performance, courtesy of the latest Wi-Fi 7 standard. The system's 8-stream Quad-Band WiFi, Multi-Link Operation (MLO), and AI-driven mesh algorithm contribute to low latency, making it suitable for various applications, from security camera streaming to online gaming. The coverage area is expansive, and the seamless handover between nodes ensures a consistently strong connection. Our home is 4000 square feet (single level), and there were areas where we experienced dead spots, leading to insufficient internet speeds. The introduction of this router successfully addressed those connectivity issues. In our previous mesh network setup, we encountered problems such as dropped connections to our WiFi garage door openers, the Rachio sprinkler system, and the Flo by Moen water detector units struggled to maintain stable connections. Fortunately, these issues have been effectively resolved since implementing this new router after setup. The Wi-Fi 7 technology brings noticeable improvements, especially in latency and overall device performance. The system excels in stability, providing a smooth experience as users move around the house. The upgrade from Wi-Fi 5 is particularly noteworthy, with enhanced speed and reliability. Overall, the Deco BE16000 is a top-tier mesh networking solution, offering high performance and a well-designed user experience. It stands out in terms of speed, stability, and versatility.

      Hi DAJNZ,

Thank you for your review. As long as your MoCa adapter provides network or Internet connectivity when you plug a device into it directly (e.g., computer, laptop, etc.), you should be able to use it with your Deco Mesh by connecting it to the main Deco during setup using Ethernet cabling.

Fast internet, check. Great coverage, yep. Easy setup…..as long as your system is up to date, check and check. Let’s get to it with the Deco BE16000! First off, I was a bit fearful after unboxing the system. The towers are quite a bit larger in height than my previous system, and has one additional tower than my previous system. I was hoping for this system to blend into the environment, not stand out….but looks can be deceiving. I needed an upgrade to help support the load of gadgets/devices pulling on my current WiFi network, so the Deco BE16000 was perfect for me. Similar to other Deco mesh systems this comes with set of 3 identical towers, but as I learned quickly, whichever one of the three you start with will serve as your main unit leaving the remaining 2 as your extensions/satellite towers. Included are the towers, power cords for each, and one Ethernet cord for a hardwire connection. Off the bat I ran into initial setup issues with the unit, BUT it was not due to the Deco at all, it was an issue with my carriers router. I installed the Deco app and began the installation process only to soon find that my AT&T router wouldn’t allow ip pass through and I was informed I would need to run this mesh setup via an IP pass through, so I needed to have an updated router shipped to me. Once I received it I was able to get back on track with the setup. With the new router in place, I was able to breeze through the very simple and easy to understand setup process step by step. The process took less than 10 minutes. I was lucky enough to read a suggestion to create my new mesh network with the same name and password, which alleviates the hassle of reconnecting every connected device to a new network. Back to my new network…..speedy fast is exactly what I experienced. Though I have fiber internet, I noticed a distinct increase in speed immediately. What really stood out to me was the immediate response to devices at the far ends of my house. Usually my cameras tend to take a little while to begin showing the video feed once I open the app, but now the time is reduced by 10+ seconds, which makes a huge difference in the event of an emergency or the need to immediately view your camera footage. The app offers important features like parental controls, which is huge for my 2 kids. However, many of the other features offered by Deco (security details/options, web protection, IoT protection, etc.) are only available via a paid subscription. Overall, I love my new mesh system. It is easy to manage via the app, setup was beyond simple, and the results are proven ten-fold. If you have lots of connected devices (50+), experience latency with apps and smart controls, or drops in coverage in/around your homes wifi, this is definitely the system for you!

I purchased this because of experience with a few of their other products. They are simple enough and reliable enough I can let my older parents use then and I can set them up and forget about it. When I saw this system I figured I'd give it a try. I have 2250 square on each floor to cover through various materials. I have an older mesh system from a very prominent brand that does well, but with newer gaming systems and upgraded computers my boys have, I want to be forward compatable. This is wifi 7, with better passthrough than the wifi 6 system I have in theory, but I'm not sure what systems use that or the 6ghz bands that are 2 of the 4 bands. I'm sure there will be some products rolling out soon, and this will add that level of speed when needed. Everything I have us still 5ghz or 2.4ghz. So how does this stack up to my old system. Set up was very very very easy. Like 10 minutes I had all 3 hubs going. No swearing needed. The coverage for these 3 units is about the same as the 4 units of my old mesh. I can reach my trampoline in the back yard and up to near my neighbors driveway. I have about 1.8 acres and it seems to cover the bulk of it. I do have the units placed on the edges of my house that saturate the middle but then get the yard. I do stream music while mowing so I can keep using wifi to keeo data down. So overall, I see no faults, the app is well designed, there are security features you can use and modify as you want. You can check speeds and what devices are connected to each unit. Very intuitive even for an older guy like me. For me being forward compatable and needing this for work and kids who game, this is worth the up front investment now. Since this will likely be able to handle most advancements for years to come. Some of my old units I used for upwards of 6 to 8 years, and only changed when I moved and grew to a bigger house, or got more devices. A 5 star item and I do reccomend this.

I spent nearly 800 dollars on this trashy system. Unfortunately the problems started after I could no longer return the item. I spent hours trying to get ethernet cords to register with the system, fixing disconnections late at night so we could see our baby monitors, and hours on support with problems returning days later.
