The mesh works ok so far. I did notice some latency issues at times and the wifi has been dropping periodically but reconnects. I never had these issues with my Orbi. At thisbpoint I'm on the fence about returning and getting the new Orbi mesh or a different Deco altogether

Unless I am mistaken, my older Linksys has a stronger signal. I have a AT&T fiber connection and I followed all the TP-Link instructions. Due to the lack of coverage, I re-enabled my old Linksys router to support this brand new mesh setup. I am hoping the next firmware update will resolve the range issue.

By far the most true 2.5 gig portsthat will give you 2 gigabytes per port. Not like the others that say 2 gigs and only can process 1 gig! Will recommend to family and friends!

First impressions count abd the Deco BE16000 certainly does the job. The packaging protects them and the nodes are modern-looking, and feel very sturdy. Not only are they functional but they look good too. They're cylindrical and just a bit larger than a smart speaker. When sitting on a shelf, they look like a small sculpture or a decorative vase.
After downloading the TP Link Deco app, set up is a breeze. I set up the first node on the top floor of the house, closest to the modem and have several devices connected to it via ethernet. The house is about 3100 square feet and I placed one node on each level - second floor, first floor, and basement. Adding the second and third node to the first was equally as simple and I have strong signals on each level - even the basement! If you hadn't already thought of this, I started making a list several days earlier of all of the items I would need to reconnect to the new router. Swapping out routers is easy - it's reconnecting devices that takes time. Fortunately, each device found the router and connected without any issues. Each node has 4 ethernet ports, including a 2.4ghz, and an additional USB port.
I've got 20+ devices connected and still get my Spectrum provided 500+ speed on all levels of the house. This was an upgrade from my previous Wifi6 system so I might not see as dramatic an improvement as someone upgrading from something lesser. However, I like to think of it as "future-proofing", at least for a couple years.
The app is very user-friendly and sends you a notification as you connect new devices. It also show you that each node is connected and working properly.

The TP-Link Deco BE16000 is a very impressive WiFi mesh system. It is a beautifully designed system with each unit looking right at home wherever you place it. Setup is as simple as it gets. Compared to previous routers I’ve used, I had this up and running within minutes. The app is incredibly easy to use. The ability to run wired devices off of each unit is nice. I’ve had other mesh systems where you could only do that with the main unit. Each of the three devices is considerably larger than the other systems I’ve used. However, the range with the Deco is considerably better and you have a lot more technology built in so I don’t really feel the size is an issue. Regardless of what you are using ( WiFi 7 or something lower) the range is exceptional and the signal strength is incredibly solid. Now at the time I’m writing this, the number of WiFi 7 compatible devices on the market can probably be counted on your fingers. But, don’t let that stop you from considering the Deco BE160000. There may not be much for WiFi 7 devices now, but with the speed technology changes there will most likely be many devices in short time. You are not likely to upgrade your home WiFi very often so you might as well be future proof. Also, you don’t need to be using WiFi 7 to benefit. The exceptional range & signal works with all previous WiFi versions. I can highly recommend the TP-Link Deco BE16000.

Fast internet, check. Great coverage, yep. Easy setup…..as long as your system is up to date, check and check. Let’s get to it with the Deco BE16000! First off, I was a bit fearful after unboxing the system. The towers are quite a bit larger in height than my previous system, and has one additional tower than my previous system. I was hoping for this system to blend into the environment, not stand out….but looks can be deceiving.
I needed an upgrade to help support the load of gadgets/devices pulling on my current WiFi network, so the Deco BE16000 was perfect for me. Similar to other Deco mesh systems this comes with set of 3 identical towers, but as I learned quickly, whichever one of the three you start with will serve as your main unit leaving the remaining 2 as your extensions/satellite towers. Included are the towers, power cords for each, and one Ethernet cord for a hardwire connection.
Off the bat I ran into initial setup issues with the unit, BUT it was not due to the Deco at all, it was an issue with my carriers router. I installed the Deco app and began the installation process only to soon find that my AT&T router wouldn’t allow ip pass through and I was informed I would need to run this mesh setup via an IP pass through, so I needed to have an updated router shipped to me. Once I received it I was able to get back on track with the setup.
With the new router in place, I was able to breeze through the very simple and easy to understand setup process step by step. The process took less than 10 minutes. I was lucky enough to read a suggestion to create my new mesh network with the same name and password, which alleviates the hassle of reconnecting every connected device to a new network.
Back to my new network…..speedy fast is exactly what I experienced. Though I have fiber internet, I noticed a distinct increase in speed immediately. What really stood out to me was the immediate response to devices at the far ends of my house. Usually my cameras tend to take a little while to begin showing the video feed once I open the app, but now the time is reduced by 10+ seconds, which makes a huge difference in the event of an emergency or the need to immediately view your camera footage.
The app offers important features like parental controls, which is huge for my 2 kids. However, many of the other features offered by Deco (security details/options, web protection, IoT protection, etc.) are only available via a paid subscription.
Overall, I love my new mesh system. It is easy to manage via the app, setup was beyond simple, and the results are proven ten-fold. If you have lots of connected devices (50+), experience latency with apps and smart controls, or drops in coverage in/around your homes wifi, this is definitely the system for you!

The Deco BE16000 quad-band mesh Wi-Fi 7 system is a high-end and feature-rich mesh networking solution that delivers impressive performance in terms of speed, stability, and coverage. With its cutting-edge Wi-Fi 7 technology, AI-driven mesh capabilities, and multiple Gigabit ports, the system caters to demanding users with a large number of devices.
Pros:
Easy Setup: The installation process is seamless and straightforward. The Deco app is intuitive, offering a user-friendly interface for managing advanced settings.
Impressive Wi-Fi Performance: All Wi-Fi bands (6, 6E, 7) provide fast and stable connections. The AI-driven mesh system efficiently handles numerous devices simultaneously.
Versatile Connectivity: Each node includes four WAN/LAN ports and a USB-A port, offering flexibility for connecting various devices.
Sleek Design: The nodes have an elegant and simple design that blends well with home interiors. The build quality is excellent, with sturdy construction and a premium feel.
Low Latency: Well-suited for applications like multiple security camera streams, on-demand videos, and online gaming.
Cons:
Limited Web Browser Configurator: The web browser configurator is basic, and have to use the mobile app for better functionality.
Subscription-Based Features: Advanced features like Web Protection, Intrusion Prevention, and advanced Parental Controls are locked behind a subscription paywall, diminishing the overall value.
Design & Setup:
The Deco BE16000 is a visually appealing and well-constructed mesh Wi-Fi system. The nodes are impressively large and heavy, featuring a sleek design that seamlessly blends into my home interior. The inclusion of four WAN/LAN ports and a USB-A port on each node is a thoughtful touch, providing ample connectivity options for various devices, such as security cameras and IoT hubs.
Setting up the routers is a breeze, using the TP-Link Deco app. The app guides users through the process seamlessly, making it easy to add and configure nodes. We have a single node linked to our media center, establishing connections with our smart TV, Apple TV, Fire TV, and our outdoor home security camera system, and it operates exceptionally well. Firmware updates are straightforward, enhancing the overall user experience. The app's well-organized interface allows to access essential settings, including IoT network management, QoS prioritization, address reservation, and more. Despite the easy setup process, the restriction of some features behind a subscription paywall is a drawback. The subscription model might deter few who expect a comprehensive set of features without additional costs.
The Deco BE16000 impresses with its high-speed, stable performance, courtesy of the latest Wi-Fi 7 standard. The system's 8-stream Quad-Band WiFi, Multi-Link Operation (MLO), and AI-driven mesh algorithm contribute to low latency, making it suitable for various applications, from security camera streaming to online gaming. The coverage area is expansive, and the seamless handover between nodes ensures a consistently strong connection.
Our home is 4000 square feet (single level), and there were areas where we experienced dead spots, leading to insufficient internet speeds. The introduction of this router successfully addressed those connectivity issues. In our previous mesh network setup, we encountered problems such as dropped connections to our WiFi garage door openers, the Rachio sprinkler system, and the Flo by Moen water detector units struggled to maintain stable connections. Fortunately, these issues have been effectively resolved since implementing this new router after setup.
The Wi-Fi 7 technology brings noticeable improvements, especially in latency and overall device performance. The system excels in stability, providing a smooth experience as users move around the house. The upgrade from Wi-Fi 5 is particularly noteworthy, with enhanced speed and reliability.
Overall, the Deco BE16000 is a top-tier mesh networking solution, offering high performance and a well-designed user experience. It stands out in terms of speed, stability, and versatility.

Hi DAJNZ,
Thank you for your review. As long as your MoCa adapter provides network or Internet connectivity when you plug a device into it directly (e.g., computer, laptop, etc.), you should be able to use it with your Deco Mesh by connecting it to the main Deco during setup using Ethernet cabling.

I purchased this because of experience with a few of their other products. They are simple enough and reliable enough I can let my older parents use then and I can set them up and forget about it. When I saw this system I figured I'd give it a try. I have 2250 square on each floor to cover through various materials. I have an older mesh system from a very prominent brand that does well, but with newer gaming systems and upgraded computers my boys have, I want to be forward compatable. This is wifi 7, with better passthrough than the wifi 6 system I have in theory, but I'm not sure what systems use that or the 6ghz bands that are 2 of the 4 bands. I'm sure there will be some products rolling out soon, and this will add that level of speed when needed. Everything I have us still 5ghz or 2.4ghz. So how does this stack up to my old system. Set up was very very very easy. Like 10 minutes I had all 3 hubs going. No swearing needed. The coverage for these 3 units is about the same as the 4 units of my old mesh. I can reach my trampoline in the back yard and up to near my neighbors driveway. I have about 1.8 acres and it seems to cover the bulk of it. I do have the units placed on the edges of my house that saturate the middle but then get the yard. I do stream music while mowing so I can keep using wifi to keeo data down. So overall, I see no faults, the app is well designed, there are security features you can use and modify as you want. You can check speeds and what devices are connected to each unit. Very intuitive even for an older guy like me. For me being forward compatable and needing this for work and kids who game, this is worth the up front investment now. Since this will likely be able to handle most advancements for years to come. Some of my old units I used for upwards of 6 to 8 years, and only changed when I moved and grew to a bigger house, or got more devices. A 5 star item and I do reccomend this.

I spent nearly 800 dollars on this trashy system. Unfortunately the problems started after I could no longer return the item. The TP-Link Deco BE16000 Quad-Band Mesh Wi-Fi 7 system is amazing. The system itself is a little bulky, but it will get the job done. With this system it just opens the flood gates to a faster internet speed via Wi-Fi. The installation was super simple, literally almost plug and play. You do have to download an app to install the system and get your security set up but it is so simple. This new system has been such an upgrade for my current set up that I would not look anywhere else for a better system. TP-Link has really gone above the competition with this new Wi-Fi mesh system. I currently have this set up on a 2,000 sq ft house and it covers the whole house plus more outside. The speed does slow down when not connected to the main router, but the difference is not that drastic. This system will make sure your speed is enough to feed all your devices up to 200 devices it states. I currently have about 30 devices and have run multiple at once for streaming, gaming and web surfing printers etc. and I have not had any issue with slowdowns. I would totally recommend this to a friend or family member.

I cant tell you over the years how many routers I've been through, each one has had varying degrees of tenure in my household based on how feature rich they are and how they perform. I've never really cared about ease of setup because I'm a network engineer, this is what I do, so when I come across one that has the trifecta of ease, features and performance, we're talking about a premium level device.
To start, the box has a premium look and feel, not something you'd usually associate with TP-Link, although I will say their more recent offerings have definitely stepped this up has they've released devices that appeal to a higher-end croud, not just those who are trying to hack them and install something like DDWRT on them (speaking of which, these do not support that, sorry to those of you who like custom roms).
The 3 devices in the box are basically identical, just pick one to act as the 'router' and hook it to your WAN connection (in my case, gig fiber) and the others will function as satellites as you go through the setup. Speaking of setup, it's super streamlined. There's no 'ok reset this, reset that' just trying to get the app to see everything and get it online, it's one of the few that I've run across that just 'works'. In the app you're also met with a number of different configuration options, from reserved IP addressing, parental controls, device naming, MAC address tracking, range and speed testing, etc. Each piece works as you would expect, you can granularly control individual devices being allowed on or off the network, or control when the network will get cut off to a device (useful if you have kids that wont go to bed or study) among many other things. Really it's a well thought out app with a plethora of configuration options. Of course it has the standard allowing of ports through the firewall and all of that, so no worries there.
As far as performance is concerned, this is easily the fastest set I've run across. I've owned a few motherboards that are 2.5Gbps capable, but never had devices that supported it (even current-gen devices, this is not terribly common) but finally this one does. Not only does it support 2.5Gbps client connections, but if your house is wired for ethernet, they also support 2.5Gbps wired backhaul between satellites, which in a word, is a wonderful. There's few ISPs out there that can really utilize that to the home, but if you have any sort of in-house server or streaming devices (plex media server anyone?) then these will definitely not add any latency or performance concerns to that.
Coverage is excellent, being a 3 piece mesh system there are zero dead spots in my 3400 sqft home, and I imagine this could cover a space quite a lot larger than that. I unfortunately do not own any WiFi7 capable devices yet, but clearly I'm future-proofed against that with this system, and I intend to upgrade the WIFI card in my laptop as soon as I'm able.
All in all this is a wonderful mesh system, coverage is superb, performance is amazing, and it's well worth the cost. I would easily recommend this to anyone in the market for a high-end WIFI7 capable mesh system.

TP-Link Deco BE16000 Quad-Band Mesh Wi-Fi 7 System

So I received my TP-Link Deco BE16000 Quad-Band Mesh Wi-Fi 7 System a week or so ago and have been putting it through its paces.
First off I must say that the R&D team with TP-Link/Deco did an amazing job with the design and build quality of the Deco BE16000 Units. They're strong and sturdy and will blend in easily with any home decor. Also included in the package along with the 3 units comes, 3 power adapters, 1 ethernet cable, and the Quick Installation Guide. On the back of each unit is the WPS button for easy connection as well as 4 (2.5 Gbps) ports, a USB port, and power adapter port.
Following along with the Quick Installation Guide, first off you will need to download the TP-Link Deco app from the App Store for iOS or the Google Play Store for Android and create/login to your account. Once your account is setup, simply follow along with the app to setup each unit across your house. The app was super easy to use and follow along with. It guides you through the step by step process to get you up and running in no time. All together, it took me about 15 minutes to get my system up and running. Simply install each unit and once the green light it on at the bottom of the unit, it's ready.
We placed the main one in the living room which is connected to the cable modem, 1 in our bedroom upstairs, and the other in our garage.
This was the easiest router/mesh system I've installed without a hitch. Immediately we noticed that we had stronger coverage throughout our entire house as well as even further perimeter around our house. The signal was stronger than our previous router that costed us a pretty penny. This system is on the pricier side, but after using it for a couple weeks we can see why. Coverage, coverage, and coverage, not to mention ease of use in the app. The app allows you to tweak and change the settings to your liking as well as your Wi-Fi settings. I also like that they made it easier to connect older devices with IoT.
The only gripe I would have about anything would be the Quick Installation Guide, (not a dealbreaker), but man is the writing very tiny and the color choices of the text kinda off-putting, but thankfully you only need to read the first page to know to download the app and follow along from there.

Serious gamers, home office workers, smart device consumers - TP-Link has got your back. The Deco BE16000 Quad-Band Mesh Wi-Fi 7 System brings whole home Wi-Fi to your door with outstanding range, speed, and security. Powerful and smooth Wi-Fi coverage - what more do you want?
Out of box, the three Deco units are big and sturdy devices - much bigger than my previous mesh system devices. Aesthetically, the units look nice, minimal, and modern, and they won't be an eyesore sitting out in the open where it is recommended to get the best Wi-Fi coverage. Each device uses its own power adapter and the main unit will hook up to your modem via a provided Ethernet cable. Each unit has four 2.5 Gbps ports and a USB port and can connect both a wireless and wired backhaul on each unit at the same time. The provided installation guide is kind of useless, but everything you need to do from the jump is provided step-by-step on the TP-Link Deco app. I was connected and running the new network in minutes, and the app allows clear visibility of all devices on your network, with lots of features to view or block any device at any time. Streaming high-res video and wireless gaming is smooth with no noticeable hiccups experienced over several days of continuous, high usage; this is great when considering the high number of devices I have running simultaneously on the network and on different levels of my home.
One feature I love is the ability to create a multi-link operation (MLO) network separate from my main network or any guest networks I make. The MLO allows the device to transmit data across the 6 GHz and 5 GHz bands at the same time, thereby allowing faster Wi-Fi speeds and even less chance of dropoffs. We put our home office devices on this network specifically to keep business and personal computing separate and secure.
The ease of installation, high speed and low latency, and outstanding end-to-end home networking coverage makes the TP-Link Deco system an easy recommendation. Consumers looking for a fast, reliable network without the fuss need look no further.

We recently upgraded our house to Gigabit speeds. For a long time the 200 mb/s we were getting was enough. But with more and more devices, and those devices needing more data (larger game downloads, etc.). As well as other devices requiring faster and more reliable connections to work and stream properly I finally upgraded to Gigabit internet. Well I thought that would be all I needed to do. Dont get me wrong there were improvements, but most devices still needed to be fairly close to our new single router then before. So I needed a way to take that new faster connection and get it throughout the house, and even into our garage where I do a lot of projects and often use my phone to get help with them. Enter the TP-Link Deco BE1600 quad mesh system.
The install and set up was a breeze. The app was easy to follow and I ran into zero issues while setting it all up. The app is very easy to use if you want a simple set up. But has all of the advanced settings you would ever need if you want to get in and tweak it to your needs. Out of the 2 ways to connect I went wireless. There is a wired ethernet option but running new cables all over was just not feasible. Everything just worked. Thats unfortunately rare with these app set ups, but so nice when it does!
Once everything was up and running we not only now had our new Gigabit internet, but basically skipped Wifi 6 and went straight to Wifi 7. So we are pretty much future proofed when new devices come out with the latest and greatest Wifi. No more dead spots, and even the worse area the garage has a nice strong signal so I can use my phone to look up tutorials and help while working on my various projects. And all of our 4 TV's now have a very strong reliable connection to stream with no buffering or degraded resolution.
Overall I am loving this new addition to our house. Its vastly improved every devices connections speed and reliability. Well worth it. If you want to fix/ improve your house or offices wireless while at the same time future proofing it with Wifi 7 this is the way to go. Highly recommended!!
