No dimming functionality is available with these plugs. You can group them for multiple light functions and can set a schedule for the lights to turn on and off but surprisingly no dimmer settings on the app. Had to return them and switched to GE smart bulbs instead! The only good thing was the ease of the app.

I keep getting security warnings from my firewall/router. IP addresses from China are trying to communicate with this plug. I have other TP-Link branded devices in my smart home and they are all fine. Just the one. Weird. I have taken it off my network and replaced it with another reputable brand plug.

Firstly, please note that Kasa services do not utilize servers in China - as there are no Kasa cloud servers in China. If you reside in the United States, your Kasa device(s) should automatically connect to the relevant Kasa/AWS server in your region to establish cloud functionality and features.

Thank you for sharing your experience with our product. One of the many great features offered by our smart plugs is their Remote Control feature, allowing you to control the device while away from home, as long as your smartphone has Internet connectivity.

Kasa doesn't recognize the plug and the instructions for using the app are extremely difficult. Not a user friendly app. The model of plug that it shows on the app isn't even the model being used. It should not be this difficult to set up, especially when the manufacturer states it works with Echo.

For Alexa to control the smart device, and to control the device when you're away, you'll need to create a free Kasa account, which can be done using the steps outlined in our FAQ here: http://www.tp-link.com/us/faq-948.html
You can then add the smart device to your network using the steps here: http://www.tp-link.com/us/faq-946.html
Once the smart device is added to your network and account you can then add the skill to Alexa as shown here: http://www.tp-link.com/en/faq-944.html

Thank you for your feedback. We always recommend ensuring your router's WiFi signal is adequately strong in the smart device's location. Within the Kasa Smart app there's a feature that allows you to measure WiFi signal strength of your smart devices. When the app is connected, please check the signal strength in the Device Settings menu.
If the signal is within the ideal range and you're still experiencing these symptoms, please ensure your Kasa Smart app is up to date, then update your smart device's firmware using the steps in our FAQ: http://www.tp-link.com/us/faq-1256.html
