Plugged it in, left it at that

To set it up requires another online account that then has to be linked to Alexa.... I stopped at that point as I did not want to create another online account. So, my review is lack of ease, and the need to maintain multiple accounts rather than having the devise work through the existing account.

For Alexa to control the smart device, and to control the device when you're away, you'll need to create a free Kasa account, which can be done using the steps outlined in our FAQ here: http://www.tp-link.com/us/faq-948.html
Once the smart device is added to your network and account you can then add the skill to Alexa as shown here: http://www.tp-link.com/en/faq-944.html

In your case we recommend performing a full factory reset on the smart plug, then please re-configure it using the Kasa app. To reset your plug, please press and hold the button on the side of the unit for at least 10 seconds while plugged in. Outdated technology

The technology needs a SERIOUS upgrade. Had I known this before I bought them, I would have chosen a different brand.

When a network change occurs, we recommend using the WiFi config reset, which does not require full reprogramming of each Kasa device, simply re-joining of the network (all other configuration details will remain intact). To perform this reset, press and hold the specified button on the device(s) for 5 seconds, then re-add the device to your network via the Kasa app.

Schedule does not work

Never stayed connected

We always recommend ensuring your router’s Wi-Fi signal is adequately strong in the smart device’s location. Within the Kasa app there's a feature that allows you to measure Wi-Fi signal strength of your smart devices. When the app is connected, please check the signal strength in the Device Settings menu. Ideally, the reading should be >-70 dBm.
If the signal is within the ideal range and you’re still experiencing these symptoms, please ensure your Kasa app is up to date, then update your smart device’s firmware using the steps in our FAQ: http://www.tp-link.com/us/faq-1256.html

Works most of the time
