We always recommend ensuring your router’s Wi-Fi signal is adequately strong in the smart device’s location. Within the Kasa app there's a feature that allows you to measure Wi-Fi signal strength of your smart devices. When the app is connected, please check the signal strength in the Device Settings menu. Ideally, the reading should be >-70 dBm.
If the signal is within the ideal range and you’re still experiencing these symptoms, please ensure your Kasa app is up to date, then update your smart device’s firmware using the steps in our FAQ: http://www.tp-link.com/us/faq-1256.html

Basic replacement for Alexa.

Needs resetting often

I couldn't connect it to my network

In spite of turning on and off the VPN, I couldn't connect the TP-Link plug to my wireless network. After multiple frustrating attempts, I gave up and swapped it out for an Amazon plug which Alexa and my network immediately accepted. If you are able to connect it, it's a fine device. If you can't, well, it's kind of worthless.

Didn't work well for me
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Every time I used my google home to turn on my lights this plug was never available and I gave it a try over a long weekend and I got it to work a couple of time but, it had to be physically turned on to work and that defeats the whole purpose of a smart plug and a mobile app.
