Posted .Hi,
Thank you for your review. Our smart plugs, bulbs, and switches are designed for quick and easy setup using the Kasa app. If you're having difficulty connecting them to your network during setup, please ensure your router's 2.4GHz WiFi signal is sufficiently strong at the smart device's location. You can also tap the "I can't find my network" option during setup to manually select and connect to your WiFi network.
Please also ensure your smartphone is not connected to a VPN during setup, as this may interfere with the installation process.
If you would like assistance with any of these steps, please reach out to our free support team using any of the resources included with the product, or from our official website, and we'll gladly have a Support Agent follow up with you directly.

Doesn't stay connected
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Setting up was straightforward but during the night every night the plug would lose connection with the WiFi. The only solution was to unplug it to reset. I contacted technical support several times but they were unable to solve the issue. Based on other reviews I purchased a Belkin Wemo plug and that works great. Steer clear of the TP Link plug.

Posted .Hi RockB444,
We always recommend ensuring your router’s Wi-Fi signal is adequately strong in the smart device’s location. Within the Kasa app there's a feature that allows you to measure Wi-Fi signal strength of your smart devices. When the app is connected, please check the signal strength in the Device Settings menu. Ideally, the reading should be >-70 dBm.
If the signal is within the ideal range and you’re still experiencing these symptoms, please ensure your Kasa app is up to date, then update your smart device’s firmware using the steps in our FAQ: http://www.tp-link.com/us/faq-1256.html
If you’d like assistance with any of these steps, please send an e-mail with your contact information and a copy of this review to [email protected] and we'll gladly have a Support Agent follow up with you directly.

Posted .Hi Jayden,
If you haven't noticed a significant improvement in WiFi coverage after installing the extender, we recommend relocating the unit to a position in your home where the router's WiFi signal is sufficiently strong; yet far enough from the router to effectively extend its range. Please verify the RE status LED is indicating a solid connection.

I'd rather have a "dumb home".
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. These plugs worked intermittently, at best, despite my having an 800Mb down/15MB up Internet connection from my ISP. The associated app was, in my opinion, very user-unfriendly. I'd rather have a "dumb home", it's far more reliable.

Horrible!
||Posted . Owned for 1 year when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I'd give this negative stars if I could. I bought this for our living room floor lamp and this plug ruined it. The plug cause the entire lamp to short out and now the lamp no longer functions. This was a very expensive lamp that we now have to get repaired or replaced.

Very easy setup, reliable, space-saving
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I am completely satisfied with the performance of these little mini-plugs, I can just set them and forget them. And if I need to change the schedule, I can do that so easily. The simple setup and management with the free Kasa app makes it very popular with my family, and the mini size allows us to use two of them together in a pair of plugs without any problem. Placement of the mini plugs with relation to our wireless router has given us very reliable connections. When the distance was too far from the main router, I was able to connect them to a TP-Link range exptender with excellent results. Submitted as part of a free sample program.

No or little wireless range
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This did not work for it could not pick up the WiFi, it wanted me to move the plugs closer to the wireless router. Which of course defeated the purpose. FYI I have a night hawk router, so basically the range on these plugs are not to far.
