    Defective product, which cannot connected to my home internet even disabled 5 G wifi band and left 2.4 G wifi alone. Plan to exchange it and give it another try.

    I couldnt get this item to work for me. Maybe i wasnt patient enough and just couldn't figure it out but i ended up returning it back to the store.

    Title says it all. I ended up returning because the kava software doesnt work with scheduling. It only works with remote on and off. I ended up using the basic timers

    Convenient, easy setup

    Greetings, I have had the pleasure of testing a new product from TP-LINK. The Smart Wi-Fi Plug Mini HS105. I have to begin to say, it definitely works as designed. The setup was very simple to perform using the Kasa app. I conducted my test by connecting my Christmas tree and programing a schedule to light the tree when at home and away. This little device did a great job in performance. I appreciate the small football enabling the use of the other outlet. I further conducted a test with an array of appliances, for example, coffee maker, my bedroom light to turn on in the morning, and other devices. I tend to fall asleep with my TV on and forget to program the timer, it was limited to a short count down timer, so that did not work for me. I connected to the smart plug, programmed a schedule and it worked perfect. I would like this device to be compatible with My Home app associated with my Apple iPhone. Enabling to build a network of devices working together from my iPhone, which would provide more diversity. This review is submitted as part of a free sample program.

    Pain itA to set up! Gave up after half hour trying all instructions, when it hooked up to my wife's tv, and I got an ear full! Not even sure it works after hookup, put in trash.

    Doesn’t work as advertised

    Got the app downloaded and synced with my phone. Could turn it on and off from phone but would not turn light on and off according to schedule. Followed the problem solving videos, applied their suggestions, still did not work

      If your smart plug is not adhering to the set schedule, please first ensure that your Kasa Smart app's Location and Time information is properly configured. Within the Kasa Smart app, please select Home -> Settings -> Location and Time. Then, please select the appropriate time zone, or allow the app to use your phone's location information to automatically detect it for you.

    Can't schedule the device to go on/off, it can only be set to go on not off and vice versa. Will not work on 3 separate devices, mistake buying this product.

    I purchased this product and was very dissatisfied with it I couldn’t get it to program and I even called tech support. I followed their instructions and I still couldn’t get it to work. I turned it back in and got a wemo

    Wifi Smart Plug that's the perfect size!

    The HS105 turns any of your standard devices into a "Smart" device. Once you start using this, you will quickly see the benefits. This is especially apparent if you own an Amazon Alexa device (echo/dot). The build quality is very good. It is sturdy and certainly doesn't feel flimsy or cheap. The design of this product is where it really shines. One of the biggest complaints of most Smart Plugs is there bulky size which in turn means that they often cover/obstruct more than one power outlet. I was pleased to find that TP-Link has overcome this issue with this newly designed Smart Plug. What's more impressive is how simple the solution was – making a wider Smart Plug, instead of a taller Smart Plug! Good move TP-Link! Since this is considerably smaller, I was worried that the range (distance away from the Wi-Fi router) would be affected. I had no issues, and I was able to plug this device a reasonable distance away from my Wi-Fi router. The scheduling aspect is great! There are a lot of variables you can set. Time (hours and minutes, am/pm), switch action (on or off), and repeat (days of week - you can select one individual day, every day, or a combination of days). A programmed event requires two "events" in the app, a switch action "on" and a switch action "off". This is useful if you have a routine with turning on/off a device in your home. Some uses I have for this HS105 are for lamps, entertainment units, irons, fans or just about anything you want to conveniently turn on/off or set timers for. Overall this is a fantastic Smart Plug that works flawlessly. This review was submitted as part of a free sample program.

    after asking store employees before i bought the item, i discovered after wasting hours and finally calling the manufacturer, that the item would not work from a laptop. believe it or not everyone does not have a smart phone

      We always recommend ensuring your router's WiFi signal is adequately strong in the smart device's location. Within the Kasa Smart app there's a feature that allows you to measure WiFi signal strength of your smart devices. When the app is connected, please check the signal strength in the Device Settings menu.
