We always recommend ensuring your router's WiFi signal is adequately strong in the smart device's location. Within the Kasa Smart app there's a feature that allows you to measure WiFi signal strength of your smart devices. When the app is connected, please check the signal strength in the Device Settings menu.
If the signal is within the ideal range and you're still experiencing these symptoms, please ensure your Kasa Smart app is up to date, then update your smart device's firmware using the steps in our FAQ: http://www.tp-link.com/us/faq-1256.html

Affordable Echo Integration
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Prior to using the HS105, I was using the HS100 which I love. It is THE solution for Alexa integration. Now I have to add the HS105 to that recommendation as well. In fact, it is even better as the HS105 only takes up one wall outlet leaving the other open for use. The HS100 and HS110 both block the other outlet preventing its use. The HS105 is directly integrated with Alexa and can be configured to work locally or remotely, if you want to operate it while away. The setup process could not be easier. The TP-Link Kasa application walks you through the setup process. It will also allow you to configure a schedule for when to turn on/off. Additionally, there is an away mode which turns your devices on and off at different times to give the appearance that someone is home. Comparing these to Wemo, they are more stable. I've not had any connection issues with these whereas I have had a couple with Wemo, especially when unplugging the device from the wall. This review was submitted as part of a free sample program.

In your case we highly recommend resetting the Smart Plug by pressing and holding the button on the side of the device for at least 10 seconds while plugged in. After doing so, please ensure your Kasa app is fully up to date, re-configure the plug using Kasa, then upgrade its firmware using the steps outlined here: http://www.tp-link.com/us/faq-1256.html

I was able to pair it with Alexa by going into the setting in the KASA app for the device and toggle the “Remote” button. The switch is versatile. it can be programmed to turn on and off on schedule, it can be remotely turned on and off. You can still manually turn it on/off. It only takes one of the outlet/receptacle space and keeps the other outlet free for some other use. The away mode was helpful when I connected the lamp to the switch and it turned on and off the lamp randomly which simulate someone is home. I haven’t had any issue after it was setup. The switch is pretty reliable. I love this product. Now, I can control the connected device remotely using KASA app. Overall, I am very happy with the switch. I recommend the switch to others. I love how well they work with Alexa and how easy the app is to you. I love it so much I just ordered another Wi-Fi set, smart light bulbs and one of their powerline kits so I don’t have to pay money for slow internet when I move into my new home in the countryside on June 1st. The voice commend on Alexa is great. You simply turn the bedroom lights on and they turn on. You do need to have an option for each device turned on to use it with Alexa. This option is called “remote connected” and you’ll find it in the Kasa app. You also get scheduling capability which is really useful. I’ve already saved money on my recent electric bills.

I can schedule when the lights turn on and off in my family room and can always check to see if I accidentally left the lights on when I leave in a hurry. You can control the plug with the free Kasa app and works great with Alexa. They will soon be offering the capability for the plug to work with Google Home as well. The setup process was painless and I was up and running in less than 5 minutes. So far there is nothing bad about the plug and has worked great. They are super responsive (depending on your wi-fi setup of course). They are small and unobtrusive and easy to setup. I haven't had a lot of problems with them dropping off the network like I did with Insteon devices. Nothing but good things to say about these. They literally take a minute or two to get working. They work in Alexa, but I assume they work with Google as well. Nice build quality.

This model is very compact and doesn't block the entire wall outlet as many other models do. Because of this it's my favorite. Though it does lack the energy monitoring features of other models unfortunately. Another neat benefit is it is compatible with Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant which will give the convenience of voice commands as well. Submitted as part of a free sample program.
