Bought two of these for a great price with two other gifts

This product is an example of a simple product that has limited cost effective uses. It is a single plug that uses a single existing port, so it can be used to effectively turns one plug into a "smart plug." I used this to add "smarts" to my Christmas tree lights, and I found telling Google to turn on my Christmas tree and remotely turning it on and off when away from home to be entertaining. The TP-Link products do not require a hub, and their products work with Google Home (Alexa too probably, but not tested). The app has been reliable so far, and adding the plug to its ecosystem is relatively easy. Once set up, porting the plug to Google Home was also easy, and the plug can be assigned to a room just like their wall switches. If the assigned name of the item plugged in includes "light," Google will turn this item on and off when the "turn on the lights" command is used. Unfortunately, i am not sure what uses a smart plug might have to justify the costs. It is less expensive to replace the bulb in a table lamp with a smart bulb, and the smart bulb has more options even it is not a color bulb. I have had a hard time justifying turning on a kitchen appliance remotely for safety reasons, and starting a coffee maker in the morning presumes it was set up the night before. Someone could theoretically use it to control power to systems remotely, such as powering down a TV in a child's room to control TV time at night, though even a young child would be able to quickly work around the locks by removing the plug as an interface. Overall, the plug works, but it needs to be much cheaper to be worth adding to a smart house in large quantities. A smart replacement wall duplex plug at closer to this price would be better since it would not stick out from the wall and would at least include two plugs.

Great concept for a switch to connect and control lights with automation. Price is still to high compared to others on market but works.

Worked great for my dorm room controlling my strip lights using google home, it was fairly responsive, easy to setup, and inexpensive. Would recommend.

We use these plugs for several lamps. The mini-plugs allow for another device to go into the same outlet. We set them to go on and off at certain times and can also control them remotely and from Alexa.

I like scheduling option, overall it does pretty good job

This little plug has made controlling a hard to get to outlet so easy. I just tell Alexa to turn the light on and off. No more climbing over the couch to acces the light controls. It was super easy to set up too!

The plug is perfectly sized if you need two and want to stack them at one outlet. Works great once you set-up. I use it through Amazon and seems to be work great.
