    It’s a smart plug. We use it with an Alexa Home system, and as long as you give it a clearly recognizable name in the Alexa App, you’re in good shape. We use this one to control our son’s fan and it works every time. Only one drawback for kids is that there’s a bright light on the button that makes little hands a bit curious about playing with the outlet, so, when planning to buy it make sure you have a stout piece of furniture behind which to hide it.

    I'm buying more! What an easy entry into the world of Alexa controlled devices. I bought it to eliminate a nuisance timer for one of our living room lights. Have purchased 2 more for those lights that aren't that easy to reach. It's a delight to tell Alexa what to do or to turn on the lights remotely, especially when we're away from home. Thanks Best Buy! Another outstanding product.

    At first, I didn't see the point of a smart plug. Can't I just get up and turn the device on myself? True. However, it sure is nice to be able to turn the light on upstairs while I am still downstairs. Gone are the days of walking into a dark upstairs. It was easy to set up and so far I haven't had a problem with maintaining a connection. I am not sure how to turn my device on and off when I'm away from home, although I know it has that function.
