May not work with 5G internet

But if you have both 2.4 and 5G internet, be aware that this unit may not connect to your 5G internet. Mine wouldn’t. I think perhaps a newer unit might be better. I returned this one.

Thank you for your review. We hear your concerns and would like to help clear up any potential misunderstandings. Please note that "5G Internet", and "5GHz Wi-Fi" are entirely separate terms, technologies, and services.
5G Internet refers to an Internet company whose signal source is delivered to your home over a 5G cellular network.
5GHz Wi-Fi refers to a frequency of Wi-Fi broadcasted by a home Wi-Fi router, allowing devices in your home (within range of the router) to connect to the router over 5GHz, if the devices support the 5GHz Wi-Fi band.
If, by chance, you are referring to 5G Internet, but you have a dual-band (2.4GHz and 5GHz) Wi-Fi router, you can use the router's 2.4GHz band to connect your Kasa Smart Plug(s).
However, in the unlikely event that your home Wi-Fi router only supports the 5GHz Wi-Fi spectrum, and does not offer 2.4GHz connectivity, please be advised that these Kasa Smart Plugs require an encrypted, 2.4GHz Wi-Fi network within range for setup and connectivity.

Now able to control appliances around the house through Alexa using these plugs. Their own app has some cool features too as they have their own analytics. Giving it four starts as had trouble configuring at first. The quick quide that comes with it was not helpful either. Took me about a few hours to figure out with some research and trial and error. My first attempt failed but it looks like it already stored some data and just needed to reset it.

We use these smart plugs to control our outdoor Christmas lights and also our Christmas tree indoors. We connect our smart plugs to our google home and program the devices to turn on and off at different times during the day. We don't have to think about it at all and save lots of power/money/ reduced effort. Would recommend this set of smartplug-- havent tried other brands yet.
