I use them in my shop where I have a small temperature controlled area where paints and other sensitive items I don't want to freeze. (Minnesota winters and such) I used to have a temp controlled one for a heater lamp but they seem to fail after a year. These however are awesome. I love being able to set up a schedule, timer and I use one to watch them on the camera to verify things are working. Makes it so much easier when away from home.

The test determined that was a lie! Frustration set in after multiple attempts to connect to my system. However it easily paired to my Apple home. Google- c'mon man! The tech heads will say "all you have to do is these 16 things and it works flawlessly". Ain't nobody got time for that!

Can't Set up with Kasa - ONLY with Homekit

I took mine back and decided I'd rather have nothing other than the regular Mini than this item. Thankfully, Best Buy took it back graciously. Perhaps they should include a warning in their description that this isn't for general KASA use.

Since the vast majority of customers who purchase this HomeKit model do so with HomeKit integration in mind, the current setup process is designed to directly assist with this integration method.
