Great inexpensive smart home device
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. These plugs are great. I use them for Christmas lighting so I can have Google turn them all on and off with voice commands instead of having to climb back to unplug everything.

Setup is Oddly Annoying
||Posted . Owned for 2 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. When setup, this outlet works flawlessly with HomeKit (including the new Matter standard update). Unfortunately, getting to a point of setup is a best complicated, as aftr 5 minutes of loading the accessory will just refuse to add itself to your home. A quick retstart (or 2) fixes it, but it still shouldn’t be that hard to setup an outelt.

Can't Set up with Kasa - ONLY with Homekit
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I thought this was a sensible alternative to the regular Kasa Mini that's out of stock at Best Buy locally, but unless you WANT to only use Homekit, the setup is problematic. I took mine back and decided I'd rather have nothing other than the regular Mini than this item. Thankfully, Best Buy took it back graciously. Perhaps they should include a warning in their description that this isn't for general KASA use.

Homekit version NOT for everyone!!
||Posted . Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Had to return these plugs as I having trouble setting it up without having to go through the use of "Homekit" After spending a good 10-15 mins of frustration just trying to see if it would connect without having it having to ask you to connect through "Homekit" I gave up packed it back up and returned it. TP-Link makes good quality smartplugs, HOWEVER these versions with the Homekit are kind of frustrating to setup. They do make versions of this plug without Homekit, however they don't seem to be in stock and when you do a search through BestBuy it does not show anymore just these that include connection to Homekit. If you can find THOSE versions if you hate wanting to go through Homekit, then that would be your best bet. NOT everyone wants to connect through HomeKit and TP-Link should strive to continue to produce and put in stock plugs that are the normal version without Homekit. I may be indifferent as there are those who like Homekit BUT it's not for me as I don't want to use a lot of tech that is tied to the "cloud". Again quality plug just look for the NON-Homekit version like I was if you don't like it

Great for use with HomeKit
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This smart plug integrated seamlessly into our HomeKit setup. Aside from the obvious and marketed uses of this plug, we’re planning on getting more for our kitchen applicances (such as a toaster and coffee maker) that we plug/unplug each morning. Then we can turn power to them off and on via voice or the physical button on the side instead of unplugging them by hand.

nice hands-free control of lamps and other devices
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. It's nice to have some hands-free light switches to help keep an eye out for our cats. We have our Kasa plugs attached to lamps throughout the house and connected to our Amazon Alexa device. It's quicker to say "Alexa, turn on the green lamp" while chasing pets at night. These are easy to setup and use.
