Once I downloaded the app onto my phone I set up the scheduling and it worked seamlessly. Take the hassle of turning on and off my ceiling fans in my business!

They work well with Google Home as well as Smart Things. I haven’t had any problems with any of my Kasa outlets over three years. I recommend them.

Can turn on remotely when away so dog is not in the dark and don’t have to run lights during daylight hours

Use it anywhere you'd use a fixed timer, but with more flexibility, like set to turn on at sunset +/- some time -- or manually via the app remotely. (1) I have some lamps that come on automatically about a half hour before sunset and turn off at about 10 pm. (2) I use it on a tall bedside lamp to turn it on/off with the app, rather than getting out of bed! (3) I have a wifi extender in another part of the house that cameras connect to -- a small power fluctuation turns off the extender and thus the camera. I can reboot the extender remotely to get my cameras back.

As with most Kasa products was trivial to setup. I picked this specific model because it has energy monitoring which I integrate with my Sense Energy Monitor.

The problem is, they do not stay "active". Every few days, I need to fully reset them by cutting power to them to be able to use them. They aren't active in the Kasa app, nor in Google Home/Homekit. I tried setting DHCP reservations, and it looked like that worked for a while. It only took a week for them to stop working reliably again. For some unknown reason, you cannot statically assign IP addresses directly on the device, which is very frustrating.

Thank you for your review. We always recommend ensuring your router's 2.4GHz Wi-Fi signal is adequately strong in the smart device's location. Within the Kasa Smart app, there's a feature that allows you to measure Wi-Fi signal strength of your smart devices. When the app is connected, please check the signal strength in the Device Settings menu.
If the signal is within the ideal range, and you're still experiencing these symptoms, please ensure your Kasa Smart app is up-to-date, then update your smart device's firmware by selecting Me → Firmware Update within the Kasa app.

I have placed these plugs that folks in my house that have trouble remembering to turn off things. They work as advertised. Easy setup and integration with google and apple. Highly recommend.

Use them all over the house for lights to Christmas trees to appliances. Just use the google voice assistant to turn them on! So easy
