Great KASA smart outlet

I try to stick with this company when I purchase new smart equipment. I DO have to set my wifi off of my 5G temporarily to set up the new plug. So just scanning the code and expecting the plug to be recognized did not work. Otherwise I never have any problems.

Horrible connection

Couldnt get any of the 3 I purchased to connect to homekit. Their native app is horrible aswell.

When it works, it works great!

But I do finding myself unplugging and replugging the plugs from the wall to reset it with the wi-fi in my apartment. I maybe have to do this once every 2 weeks or so? But in terms of connecting to my wi-fi and Google Home? It works well!

Thank you for your review. Our smart plugs, bulbs, and switches are designed for quick and easy setup using the Kasa app. If you're having difficulty connecting them to your network during setup, please ensure your router's 2.4GHz Wi-Fi signal is sufficiently strong at the smart device's location.

Unstable product

But, it requires unplugging as it becomes unresponsive every 2 to 3 weeks. I thought it was a defective unit and exchanged it for a newer one. To no avail

Thank you for your review. We always recommend ensuring your router's 2.4GHz Wi-Fi signal is adequately strong in the smart plug's location. Within the Kasa Smart app, there's a feature that allows you to measure Wi-Fi signal strength of your smart devices. When the app is connected, please check the signal strength in the Device Settings menu.
If the signal is within the ideal range, and you're still experiencing these symptoms, please ensure your Kasa Smart app is up-to-date, then update your smart device's firmware by selecting Me → Firmware Update within the Kasa app.

Works!

Using it cor Christmas lights.

Great add on to my smart home kit

I dont need to reach out my outlet to disconnect my lamp, i just ask Alexa and she will take care of it.

DO NOT BUY
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have a full smart home (every wall switch, fan, garage, thermostat, tvs, Alexa, google, hue,…) I thought this would be a good buy… I got 5 of these and have issues with all of them and before you say anything I’m using a 2.4 g network and after the first few issues I even set up a dedicated up for them… still having issues and kasa support says reset the plugs and reset up them ( anyone with a great smart home will tell you scene’s make life easy ) now tonight they tried telling me not to use their app and use apple home app and that didn’t work either so they tried saying my network is the issue ( if it’s my network my home would be down not just KASA plugs… ) horrible customer service, horrible tech support and horrible product ( I wish it worked right )

Consistency in responding to requests is a must.

OK Plug

Thank you for your review. Under normal circumstances, the Kasa app should only prompt you to sign in once, and keep you signed in unless manually signed out via the main menu. We would suggest ensuring your phone isn't somehow clearing the app data when closing the app. It may be worth considering to perhaps reinstall the Kasa app to see if the symptom is alleviated.

Does not work with 5G home internet

HomeKit integration at last

They’re a bit finicky about WiFi networks, but nothing that can’t be dealt with after a bit of tweaking.

Wemo is the worst just as an fyi. You will see them in sale but trust me it’s worth paying the extra bucks or get the tp link on sale. I’ve had these for over a year and bought this extra

Good Affordable Smart Outlet

The Kasa software may be the only drawback as it is less versatile than others like WeMo, but I was able to get it working with an IFTTT script after some fiddling.

This model is by far the best. I can't seem to get it to work on my Apple HomeKit, but it works just fine with Alexa.

Inexpensive wifi control solution.

I am able to turn the unit on via this wifi plug before I come home to a nice and cooled down home.

I bought 9 of them for Christmas candle lights in the windows 2 years ago and they are unused for a year and come right back on the next year without needing any adjustment.

I love the convenience of turning lights on by just saying Alexa turn light on. I don’t know how we got by with out the technology.
