Hi,
We always recommend ensuring your router's Wi-Fi signal is adequately strong in the smart device's location. Within the Kasa Smart app, there's a feature that allows you to measure Wi-Fi signal strength of your smart devices. When the app is connected, please check the signal strength in the Device Settings menu.
If the signal is within the ideal range, and you're still experiencing these symptoms, please ensure your Kasa Smart app is up to date, then update your smart device's firmware by selecting Me → Firmware Update within the Kasa app.
If you'd like assistance with any of these steps, please reach out to our free support team using any of the resources included with the product, or from our official website, and we'll gladly have a Support Agent follow up with you directly.

Hi,
Thank you for your review. Smart Plugs operate by allowing or preventing the flow of electricity to the connected appliance - just like plugging or unplugging the appliance from a power outlet. If you are using the smart plugs with touch lamps, the plugs must be set to ON for the touch feature of the lamp to receive electricity and for its touch toggle functionality to work.

Don't buy if you want to use with just kasa app

Not clearly advertised - I got this plug because it was homekit compatible, but not to use as part of homekit now, just in the future. I didn't buy an alexa/google only version in case in the future I wanted to make that change, futureproofing my setup.
It is supposed to be alexa, google and kasa compatible as well.
The description and the box fails to tell you that home kit is REQUIRED. At least if you use the iphone version of the kasa app.
So if you don't have a homekit set up, or don't want to use homekit for this instance, it won't work.
Their product line seems to be very fractured, some things work with some systems and others do not.
They responded on a previous review by another customer that because most people use this with homekit, this is why they designed it this way, which is perfectly valid if they indicated that it was a requirement on the box or the product description which they don't as of this writing.
