Motion detection is horrible

It works fine, except for the motion detection. I get a lot of notifications about motion. The only motion this captures is the sun going in and out of the clouds and the grass getting brighter or dimmer. It never captures the guys cutting the grass or pesticide guy walking around spraying! Motion detector is useless!

okay camera, not long term

After setting it up and using it for a few days I had to return it not because of the camera but the software interface. I don't want to constantly be bothered with ads to upgrade to premium and limited functionality for a product I payed for.

It’s fine

However, I got this to keep an eye on my pet while I’m on a trip later this year and so far I have tried it several times while away from home and have been unable to see The camera. So far, not impressed!

One of the great features of our Kasa Cams is their ability to be viewed from virtually anywhere via the Kasa app. In your case we first recommend ensuring you are signed into your registered Kasa account within the app, and that your smartphone has an Internet connection (via cellular or WiFi).

I bought 2 Kasa cameras

Then this camera quit working. When I called the TP-link support few Times, the response was that they are closed due to the current conditions. The 2nd camera, when I tried to install few months after I bought, it did not even work at all. When I called TP-link, gave all kinds of excuses or run arounds not to exchange. I believe there was a defect in the product itself in my opinion. Now these 2 Kasa cameras are not working, I will call my Credit Card for the refund Thanks

Couldn't Get it Working

Thank you for your review. The Kasa Spot Pan and Tilt cameras are designed for use with 2.4GHz WiFi, which is common in virtually all WiFi routers. We recommend making sure the camera is set up in an area where your router's 2.4GHz WiFi signal is sufficiently strong.

Not good

About the time the free 30 day trial ran out, it stopped working. I went ahead and paid for a years subscription anyway thinking it may start working again if I paid for a subscription. Still will not work. I tried all the trouble shooting tips on the Kasa website and still will not work.

Won’t connect to unsecured networks

I only got this camera to connect to unsecured WiFi networks to keep an eye on my boat, I really don’t care if someone hacks into it, my boat is on a publicly viewable dock anyway, and most marinas I’ve been to have unsecured wifi beacons. Completely useless, waste of my time and not even because it doesn’t have the technology, they just refuse to let it work.

Does not connect to WIFI

You will get stuck in "Connecting Kasa Spot to you home network" for 5 minutes then once that is done you cannot connect and you rinse and repeat. I was really looking forward to this camera since it was fairly cheap. I guess you do get what you pay for.

We always recommend ensuring your router's WiFi signal is adequately strong in the smart device's location. Within the Kasa Smart app there's a feature that allows you to measure WiFi signal strength of your smart devices. When the app is connected, please check the signal strength in the Device Settings menu.
