Doesn’t link to WiFi very well
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I can’t get the cameras to link to my WiFi. I have tried moving them right next to the router, but I still haven’t had any luck.

Posted .Hi,
We always recommend ensuring your router's WiFi signal is adequately strong in the smart device's location. Within the Kasa Smart app there's a feature that allows you to measure WiFi signal strength of your smart devices. When the app is connected, please check the signal strength in the Device Settings menu.
If the signal is within the ideal range and you're still experiencing these symptoms, please try adjusting your router's 2.4GHz WiFi channel settings, as there may be high congestion in your area on this frequency, leading to connectivity issues.
If you have any questions about your Kasa experience, please send an e-mail with your contact information and a link to this review to [email protected] and we'll gladly have a Support Agent follow up with you directly.

not a very high quality camera
||Posted . Owned for 4 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.the picture quality is ok. also to be able to view the video you have to subscribe to their cloud services which probably streams to China. Only plus is that it is powered.

Dont buy Tp link cameras
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have new very stable network setup. I have a full Arlo system i love. I wanted this to monitor a few indoor rooms. It links great, no problem with wi fi or live streaming. The problem is in the app, when you try to access the SD card recordings its a little finicky, sometimes the video wont play properly in the window. But you do SEE the thumbnails. Now this partially could be to the slower SD card class 3 i was using, but.. it works sometimes, then others not. The BIGGEST issue is that the bell icon on the top right, only shows the first notification with picture (video wont show cause you need a subscription even though they say you get 7000 seconds free) thats a joke... but the notifications show up on your phone when someone crosses its path, but when you go to see the notifications on the app, nothing shows. Its like nothing ever happened. I have 3 of the 105 models. ALL of them save behavior. I noticed when i first set them up, the first notification gave an image and a notification. But after, nothing. So i reset the camera. and boom it works again, FIRST notification, first image... go back 5 minutes later, try again. Notification shows up on phone... but not in the app, no picture nothing. So its kind of useless. Ill be at work, and be like something moved? and go to check, and it will say nothing happened, no video nothing. THAT SUCKS. Dont respond tp link, your routers are good, owned them for years. but the stability of your cloud system, which is the problem, and the support of your video player built into the app is terrible. I had a dlink for 4 years, similar issues, but not as bad. Usually you can tell a bad camera company by the app after you download it. Sorry TP Link, 3 cameras? Its your app and your cloud, no amount of trouble shooting is going to fix that. I also fix computers , rip apart mother boards, and do networking for my work. So i really am not here to hear the "2 year warranty" thing like in the previous posts. The purpose of this is to warn future users not to buy it. And the best part is , I ACTUALLY LIKE TP link products, just not the camera.

Returning
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I'm not sure if we got a defective camera or what - but the camera itself would not hold a wifi signal even long enough to get the Kasa app to connect. Did all the trouble shooting, called support to trouble shoot, tried it on an android, tried it with an iPhone (two different generations) and still the same result -"could not connect to wifi". Checked wifi signal strength and it was strong. Just kept flashing red, catch the signal for a few seconds and flash green then back to red, kept going back and forth. I knew something so inexpensive was too good to be true.

Posted .Hi Meadowlark5,
Thank you for sharing your experience with our product. The KC100 Kasa Spot Cam is designed to provide convenient, reliable and clear indoor video monitoring for your home. The Kasa Spot utilizes your existing 2.4GHz WiFi signal for connectivity; however in some network environments, the 2.4GHz band can be congested and susceptible to unreliable connectivity.
In such cases, we highly suggest refining your router's 2.4GHz WiFi channel settings for optimal clarity and signal strength. We also recommend ensuring the WiFi password is being entered correctly during setup, and case sensitivity, where applicable, is being observed.
Our Support Team is always happy to answer any questions you might have about our products. Please feel free to e-mail [email protected] and we'll gladly have a Support Agent follow up with you directly.
