Customers recognize the Kasa Wi-Fi Smart Light Switch 3-Way Kit for its ease of use, simple installation, and compatibility with Alexa and Google Home. The app is intuitive, and the price is competitive, but some customers have noted the lack of dimming capability and the size of the switch as potential drawbacks.

I’ve purchased over 15 of TP Link Kasa product line items, overall satisfied. These smart switches are much better value than what’s currently available in market, also the fact that no hub is required is also a major plus. It works very well with google home as well.

Let’s just say, I’m addicted. These switches are very easy to install. One bonus is you only need to install one switch for it to work as a smart light. I have 2 sets of stairs, both have 3 way switches at top and bottom. With this package, I used one for each stairway and can control the lights independently.

I have the single switched from Kasa as well as plugs. I have around 15 of these around my house, controlling inside and outside lights, etc. I really like them. They work as they should, only occasionally losing connection. Hitting the reset button solves that problem 99% of the time.

Best 3way Smart switch in the market

The best thing about these switches is that you can only one smart switch per light. Meaning you can use a normal 3 way switch in the other end, and everything works perfectly. So when you buy these, you can actually chose to do two different lights if you want too. Easy to install if you have any experience installing any type of switch.

I installed these in the garage since there is a switch by the garage door and one by the door to the house. It's nice to be able to use Alexa to turn on or off the lights in the garage. I use my Echo auto and turn on the garage lights as I am turning in the driveway.

There are other products out that achieve the same thing (that being 3 way, dimmable & Wifi) with a higher price tag. But for me it came down to, did the products offer anything more to justify their cost increase from this unit. Nope !!! Biggest bang for your buck with this purchase ....

Get your mind out of the gutter and pick up these switches! You do not need to use them on the same light. Trust me, I used a set on my hallway and another in the kitchen. Easy setup, you will need a neutral.

Relatively easy to install (trial and error with three-way switches). Item is nice to have and control via a smartphone app is user friendly. Big takeaway is I didn't die and the house has not burned down....yet!

I switched to TP-Link after my Wemo switched quit working. These seem to work much better, and are easy to install with color coded wiring. I love that they have these 3-way switches for light switch pairs.

No need to use both switches on just one three way series. I installed on one three way light switch series leaving the standard switch at the other end and installed the second switch in different three way light series.

These work as intended. I installed in the living room for fan control. As others have stated you can use in one location and leave the original switch in the second location. Then you still have another switch to use elsewhere. Only gave 4 stars because not HomeKit compatible.

There are many options nowadays for smart devices. There are cheap, moderate, and high-end devices and I'd say this set falls perfectly in the middle. I would recommend this smart switch set to any of my family and friends. I have electrical knowledge so set up was extremely easy for me. If you don't have any electrical experience do not be afraid! This is super easy to set up, but please make sure you understand the basics of electrical work and the important safety considerations. Overall, I had both switches installed in under an hour or so. Setting up the smart functionality was also simple and straight forward. Highlights: You do not need to buy any extra equipment to get this set up! No hubs, smart home systems, bridges, etc. You can get this connected to your phone right out of the box. If you have an Echo or Google Home, you can link these up without extra equipment as well. Simple easy wiring. There was nothing different about wiring these switches than your standard light switch, you just get the awesome smart function as well. Looks great and will complement your other rectangular switches without noticing the difference, too much. App functionality was really simple and straight forward. I believe you can integrate this with the Apple Home app so you don't have to add more apps to your phone. Includes matching face plate. Instructions for set up are though a video, which was nice but I prefer text. Important Considerations: This switch does not operate like a typical rocker switch. You just push on the bottom portion to control it manually, so it's slightly different than standard. This becomes a slight issue if you are mounting to a multi switch panel with non-smart switches. I had to swap out toggle switches for rocker style because all of my 3 way switches were on multi-switch panels. You might want to keep this in mind when you purchase. The entire switch is larger than your standard rocker switch, but this should not be a problem unless you have a lot of wiring in the box or an already crowded box. You should be able to work with it, but you might want to take a look at your install locations before purchasing any smart switch. Overall I would recommend this switch set to anyone. TP Link kept it simple and straightforward. This set works exactly as it should. Most of the potential issues come from the install itself, which is out of the product's control. Make sure you know what you're doing and take a look at your install locations before jumping in. Otherwise, you will be very satisfied!

I was a little worried that the installation instructions in the package were really sparse, but rather than rushing ahead and installing the switches on my own, I followed the directions. The app is really useful in helping you identify what wiring you have and what you need to do, and it does recommend that you hire an electrician for anything out of the ordinary. Don't mess around with your house and A/C wiring!! My house is a bit older, so some of my wiring is a bit wonky. I intended to install the switches to control my office light that's on a 2-way switch and I ran into a couple of issues. One of my receptacles had the wrong color wires. The other one didn't have a white wire. As for the wrong colors -- I was able to test and find the right wires so I hooked up one of the switches just fine. Since the other switch didn't have a white wire, I just couldn't use the smart switch there without some serious electrical work. I finished up the first switch, then hit next, next, next on the installation wizard 'til it was done. The switch works great!!! More on that later. So I decided to try something -- at first when I only found one of the switch pair with a white wire, I checked the other 2-way switches in my house, and found the exact same issue with my hallway light. Only one side had a white wire in the box. So -- I took the remaining smart switch and installed it for the hallway light. It worked independently of the first one! I have full functionality on both lights. So I wonder why the kit wants you to install both switches for the same light. It seems wasteful to me. I got both lights up and running, and the Kasa app has timers and stuff in it, which is cool, then I added it to Home Control in Google Assistant, and now it all integrates smoothly into my household automation. It took about 20 minutes to install each switch. I had to do a little modification for the first one -- the hole in the wall was a little too small for the switch body to fit through, so I trimmed the plaster flush with the electrical box, and now it fits just fine. I was able to use my existing switch plates, and since I've upgraded all my other switches and outlets to white Decora, everything matches. I love how the switch just blends in. When the light is off, there's an illuminated O shape so you can easily find the light. I really like this set. I'm also really happy that my electrical wasn't quite right because it led me to discover that I didn't need both switches on one light for it to work. Highly recommended!

There are not many 3 way smart switches available and I guess there is no need because this one works great! Easy to install and works great. It was easy to connect to my smart home as well.
