I needed to extend wifi out to my tiny house in the back yard and this worked great. The building is about 40' from the house and is wired (electrically) to the house, and this extender unit provided the perfect solution to trenching and running an ethernet cable. It works well, even when using Zoom or other video streaming apps.

They truly are plug and play. I got a connection, but it was slower than my WiFi. I've been in IT for 35 years and tried all the troubleshooting steps. No go. I believe the root cause is that my home office is on a different phase than the router location. I could have had an electrician come in to bridge the phases, but to have someone come in and run CAT-6 is about the same price and I *know* that works.
They may perform exceptionally in your case, but not in mine. It won't hurt to try them, just be sure to make sure they are returnable if they don't meet your needs.

Hi,
Thank you for your review. Please bear in mind that Powerline connectivity and data transfer rates will vary due to network environment variables including: distance between adapters, network traffic, noise on electrical wires, building material and construction, quality of electrical installation and other adverse conditions.
First, please ensure both Powerline adapters are plugged directly into wall outlets - no surge protectors or power strips as these will directly interfere with the connection. We recommend following the suggestions outlined in FAQ 409 on our official website.
If you'd like assistance with any of these steps, please reach out to our free support team using any of the resources included with the product, or from our official website, and we'll gladly have a Support Agent follow up with you directly.
Thank you, TP-Link Support

Super handy, paired right up with my already owned av1000. Used this to relocate my VoiP phone base station without having to run additional wired. 600mbps speed is plenty for my application, I do use faster devices where needed. Also love the small package on the nano, much less obtrusive.

Bought this for my son's room. He plays computer games but the wireless connection to his room is not that great so he was not happy. I plan to run network cables around the house but could not do it yet. So bought this as a temp solution for the issue. It has been working so far and no complains from my son ever since. Great product!!

It's great to have the option of networking your non WiFi device in a location with no Ethernet connection. This does a good job of bridging the gap. My only issue that wasn't mentioned anywhere prior to purchase was, to get full bandwidth, they need to be plugged in on the same circuit. Not always feasible which limits it's capabilities. Though I do get sufficient bandwidth plugged into different circuits so it's still quite useful.

Hi joecaffe,
Thank you for sharing your experience with our product; we're happy to hear you're enjoying the functionality and convenience offered by our Powerline Ethernet solution. We understand your concerns regarding using the Powerline adapters across more than one circuit.
Please note that the TL-PA4010Kit utilizes the HomePlug AV standard, which requires both adapters to be on the same main circuit, and performs optimally when both adapters are on the same breaker. If your scenario requires the adapters to traverse breakers, but remain on the same main circuit panel, we would suggest considering one of our HomePlug AV2 compatible models instead, such as the TL-PA7010 Kit.
Our Support Team is always happy to answer any questions you might have about our products. Please feel free to e-mail [email protected] and we'll gladly have a Support Agent follow up with you directly.

Fixed the lag that I experienced while using wifi on my PS5. Might show in the LAN test connection a smaller mbps amount than in wifi, but the difference is clearly visable favoring the LAN cable.

These are good adapters but did not work well in my home. I winded up giving them to my sister and it worked phenomenally for her in her house. There are many variables to consider when it comes to this type of gadget. They just didn;t work well for my needs.

I was sold this product by one of the BestBuy salesmen. They said it would help improve tv reception for a Roku product that I purchased for a tv in a bedroom on the other side of my house. Since the router is a good distance away from that tv something would be needed in order to produce better reception. This product did the trick.

My house has several dead spots for Wifi, I purchased a sister product by the same company. One takes the sender plug it to an electrical outlet near the modem and the proper wire from modem to sender. One then takes the receiver and plugs it into an outlet near the computer; a wire from receiver to computer. The computer is now wired to the modem. Sounds complicated is not. The password to connect to the system is on the sender. The Wifi signal is now carried by the wiring of the house. The set up worked well for me. I had purchased a more costly sister product which worked for two computers in one dead spot. I purchased this to add more computer in different rooms. It worked well for me when sending the signal through the air did not.

My daughter is a gamer & her computer works so much better with this powerline adapter than with the wireless network! So easy to hook up & no running of any wires through the walls!
