Using an ethernet cable plugged into this extender, I was able to increase the speed from 40 Mbps to about 200.

Once I downloaded the app it walked me through it, but getting it to actually connect to my Wi-Fi was the most difficult part. After about 30 minutes of trying to get it to connect, it finally did and it picked up the signal just fine. The problem is that it cuts your Wi-Fi signal down to about 50%, so where you put this device, your connectivity is not going to be as strong as it is within your router coverage area. Unless you absolutely cannot get a signal at all, I would not recommend this product, because in my case it did not extend the Wi-Fi coverage, it actually made it worse. If you are in a dead spot and absolutely have no connectivity, then this will get you connectivity but it will not be as fast as what your connectivity is within your router distance. If you plan to buy this for gaming, don’t. I thought it would maybe boost speeds where my Xbox is but it did not increase speed. It actually cut it down to about half of what it was without the device. If you have a good coverage already then you don’t need this. This is specifically for people that live in a large place or have poor connectivity that have no other option. This will get them coverage.

Thank you for your review. Please bear in mind, Wi-Fi extenders utilize half-duplex transmission. As a result, throughput when connecting to the extender may be reduced when compared to the router. This is an industry standard for Wi-Fi extenders and is not exclusive to TP-Link.
In your case, we recommend relocating the unit to a position in your home where the router's Wi-Fi signal is sufficiently strong; yet far enough from the router to effectively extend its range. We also highly recommend ensuring the extender's firmware is fully up to date, as shown in FAQ 1406 on our official TP-Link website: https://www.tp-link.com/us/support/faq/1406/

It works very well giving me 4 to 5 bars signal with very little speed loss. The RV is stored next to the house with only a garage wall, so your placement may very.
