Disappointing product

Let me just preface by saying that i have a very standard/common wifi system through a major home internet provider. I also have DOZENS of various smart home devices that span multiple categories (security systems, thermostats, lights, fans, etc.). So i was very surprised to get this “smart” power strip only for it to tell me that my wifi type is “not supported.” Very disappointing as the box specifies nothing about needing specific wifi to operate this product. Will be returning and will not be purchasing another tapo device in the future. Do yourself a favor and save time by choosing a different product.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend

Hi Smthme,
Thank you for your review. The Tapo P316M requires a password-protected and encrypted 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi network for connectivity. As long as your Wi-Fi network uses common home encryption standards (e.g., WPA2) and is password-protected, the Tapo smart power strip should be able to establish a network connection.
