I wanted to like this device because the baby crying notifications are great, however whenever you enable the HDR setting, grey bars appear over the video. This occurs despite whatever combination of settings are chosen or if you reset the device. Ive reached out to Tapo's customer service and they still havent helped correct this issue I had right out of the box when I purchased the device new, a few days ago from Best Buy.

As an avid tech enthusiast, I'm constantly on the lookout for innovative gadgets that elevate my home's security. The TP-Link Tapo TC73 Pan/Tilt AI Wired Security Camera is my latest addition, and boy, has it changed the game! With its impressive 2K UHD video quality and smart motion tracking, this camera has surpassed my expectations.
Installation and Setup
Setting up the Tapo TC73 was a breeze. Thanks to the straightforward instructions, I had it up and running in no time. The included mounting hardware made installation a cinch, allowing me to position it optimally in my home. Plus, the wired connection ensures a stable and reliable connection, vital for a security camera.
Picture Quality
The 2K UHD video is a noticeable upgrade from the typical 1080p cameras I've used before. The clarity and detail are superb, providing crisp visuals day and night. The infrared night vision works like a charm, ensuring I can monitor my basement even in complete darkness. Whether it's the kids playing or just keeping an eye on my house, this camera delivers impeccable image quality.
Pan/Tilt Functionality
The Pan and Tilt features are game-changers. I can remotely control the camera's movement via the Tapo app, covering every angle with ease. It's perfect for checking on my kids in the basement while I'm upstairs. The smooth, precise movements make this camera a joy to operate, and I can even create presets for frequently monitored spots.
Smart Motion Tracking
One of the standout features of this camera is its intelligent motion tracking. When it detects movement, it automatically follows the subject, providing uninterrupted monitoring. While it's incredibly effective, I did notice a slight delay in tracking during very rapid movements, which is a minor quibble considering its overall performance.
Tapo App
The Tapo app is a revelation. It's incredibly user-friendly and intuitive. Setting up motion detection zones, adjusting camera settings, and viewing live feeds is a breeze. I particularly appreciate the timeline feature that lets me quickly review recorded events. The app also allows multiple users to access the camera, ensuring my wife stays connected and informed.
The TP-Link Tapo TC73 Pan/Tilt AI Wired Security Camera in white has exceeded my expectations. Its 2K UHD video quality, smart motion tracking, and ease of use through the Tapo app make it an outstanding addition to my home security arsenal. Whether you're a tech enthusiast or a concerned parent like me, this camera is a must-have. Say goodbye to blind spots and hello to peace of mind!

Tapo TC73 has earned a spot at my front door

TP-Link has become a trusted brand for me. I have over 20 smart light switches, 5 smart plugs. I've had their WiFi routers and a travel router. They make solid products.
I have tried many different WiFi cameras (Arlo, Eufy, D-Link, Google and Wyze). The TP-Link Tapo TC73 has gained its place as my new foyer camera. My previous camera was the Wyze Cam v2 sitting on a table facing my front door. I got it because it was on clearance. It's been a decent performer, but Wyze has a 'cool down' period of 5 minutes before it can record again. Unless you pay for their cloud storage. Not wanting to get tied up with that, I started to look elsewhere.
As I said, TP-Link has become a trusted brand for me, so I quickly scanned their products and decided to give the Tapo TC73 a try.
The Tapo TC73 is a WiFi camera that doesn't need a base station. It has a Micro SD Card slot that accommodates up to 512 GB cards. It has pan and tilt capability and an AI that will help it to track moving subjects.
Upon setup, I was slightly disappointed to learn that I had to install another application on my phone. Since I already have over 25 TP-Link smart devices, I was well ingrained in the Kasa ecosystem. But I was relieved to find that the Tapo app imported all of my Kasa devices and groups. So I can get rid of my Kasa app and move to the Tapo app now.
Setup of the TC73 was pretty easy in the Tapo app. I did forget to add my microSD card at first, but the setup process is very forgiving in that regard. I rolled the camera up and found the card slot and added my 64 GB card that I had laying around the house. It immediately recognized the card but I had to format it in the camera. That went very quickly and I was able to set up the camera with a couple waypoints in the panning path with ease.
The camera itself is very nice quality. The image is sharp and the colors are quite accurate. As I moved around the room, it was tracking me with ease.
After this quick introduction to the Tapo line of cameras, I may replace my other Wyze cameras around the house with the Tapo equivalent. While the Wyze cameras were cheap. I really like the image quality from the Tapo TC73, I like the constant recording with no 'cool down' period, and I want to drive down to a point where I only need 1 app on my phone for all the smart devices in my house.

What a great little home security camera!
I am using it with Apple HomeKit, and I’ve had no problems after a small issue that prevented the camera from talking to my specific router. TP-Link product support after tier 1 is amazing.
Being able to ceiling mount the camera is great. If you want to use the camera on a ceiling mount, you need to program it with the Tapo app, set the camera to “Invert Picture” in the Tapo app’s “Video and Display” options, then after it has been added, use the Tapo app to add the camera to your Apple HomeKit. HomeKit integration is great, it uses the face recognition from my known people to decide if it will pop an alert or record based on who it sees. It also recognizes the cat, which is fun.
The movement motors are quiet, the pan (base- side to side) motor is louder than the tilt (ball- up and down) motor. The sound is barely noticeable at any real distance over any A/C or other noise in the house. There is a click as the camera goes into night mode and back, but it’s not intrusive.
Picture quality is good, better with more light, of course, but good in all lighting conditions in my basement, even understanding the bright spot is the window and adjusting the exposure to make sure it isn’t blinded to the rest of the room. 2K video is a bit overkill for recordings and transferring clips, but the camera’s high pixel count is probably to be credited for the fast and accurate face recognition.
The Micro-SD card gets slotted in under the lens, you just roll the ball section up and pop it in. There is very good recording and zone customization in the Tapo app, HomeKit is limited to basic options, but the camera can work with either app if it is learned into both, so you can use the Tapo app to make position adjustments, etc. and still use your HomeKit app for viewing, recording, and automations. For example, when I walk into the basement door, the camera will recognize me and turn on the light down here, which is quite nice. It seems with the right equipment, you can use the camera for triggering all kinds of responses based on what hardware you have installed for your smart house system.
The two way talk works very well, and I do like that I have the option to record audio or not when the camera is saving to the SD card.
Overall, this is a wonderful little camera full of features and high quality. I would recommend it!

The TP-Link Tapo TC73 Pan/Tilt AI Wired Security 2K QHD Camera is a versatile and affordable camera that can be used for home surveillance or a baby/pet monitor. It performs well in all light conditions. The TC73 is TP-Link's newest addition to the Tapo line, which offers budget-friendly options that simply excel for consumers. There are many new upgrades here, starting with introducing AI object detection in PTZ. Everything you need to watch an indoor space is in the box: power source, camera, and mounting plate with screws.
My First thoughts
This looks very simple and easy to use. There is only one button on the front to put it in privacy mode. Great, another app to download - the Tapo app. Will I need to use the Kasa app for everything I already have? Now, the Tapo app for this ONE camera, even though they are both from TP-Link? Are the motors loud? This is easy to install. Just plug it in, set up the app, and use it. If you have a Kasa account, Tapo will migrate all your devices to the new app to streamline things. However, be sure to leave any enabled skills or links from Kasa to keep assistant functionality. The footage is clean and usable, very comparable to what you see on video doorbells with 2k resolution. Clips look digitally sharpened.
My kids call it BUSINESS TURRET. It's a Security Guard monitor for under $100. It is very loud and very robotic with movements. Just screw it on the wall to mount and unlock 360° patrolling and monitoring. The TC73 easily integrates into all three major home platforms: Apple Home, Google Home, and Amazon Alexa. It is Wi-Fi 6 compatible, which helps with network traffic if your router supports it. The IR performance is excellent, with two different power settings for far and close range. This allows you to use it to cover a whole room or as a baby monitor, reducing the amount of IR blinking. The IRs and LEDs are very bright, so you better turn those off or down in settings. The motor is a concern of mine if you use patrol mode often to ensure coverage. For intended use, I can see this lasting a while, where the user controls the camera in-app to see mostly remaining in one spot.
If you use it as a patrolling security camera, you can use AI object recognition to automatically lock on and follow movements, people, pets, and vehicles. I don't know how long the motor will last before it quits in patrol mode, in any case. This is not a piece of commercial equipment, so one can only guess that it may break after the warranty period. Night vision is clear and detailed. Color night vision is available due to the sensitive starlight sensor that produces good picture up to 30ft away. There is an "Invisible Infrared Mode" if the red IR LEDs are a distraction while monitoring at night. Just switch to invisible IR mode to continue monitoring without disrupting red light, making it ideal for sleeping children and pets.
The motor calibration process is simply painful to watch. I hear grinding gears and clicks to realize it is at the end of its spindle. Just turning on, you hear the motors running like they need to be reprogrammed with shorter movements on the X and Y axes to save themselves. Hopefully, with a simple firmware update, these limits will be updated. AI is very efficient and does well identifying and tracking the tags you enable. It does a good job tracking, but you can lose it with a good juke move.
You're not stuck with only a cloud storage bill here. You get the option to backup in the cloud or also to a microSD card (up to 512GB, not included) in the back of the camera "eye" or use Tapo Care cloud storage services (subscribe separately). Overall, the TP-Link Tapo TC73 Pan/Tilt AI Wired Security Camera is an excellent choice for those looking for an affordable and feature-packed security camera for their home. Highly recommended and I use it A LOT!

I picked up the TP Link TC73 Security Camera so that I could keep an eye on my dogs while I was at work, and also talk to be able to talk to them remotely with the 2 way audio if I see them getting upset about something. The setup of the camera was pretty seamless. I had it out of the box and hooked up within about 10 minutes! Then I downloaded the TAPO app on my iPhone, which only took a few minutes to get on my phone. The full setup on the iOS app only took a few minutes as well. After that I was up and running, and I have really enjoyed using this camera! It is the first camera I have had that allow me to pan and tilt, which is a total game changer! Now I can scan the room looking for my dogs, and once I find them I can easily follow them around the house! The two way audio has worked great as well, I can definitely see their reaction to me talking to them which is exactly what I have been looking for! Overall if you are looking for an easy to use camera that allows you to pan and tilt all around the room, without breaking the bank, this is an excellent choice!

Camera can be mounted upright, non-stationary or on a ceiling(upside down).
The setup was a breeze, install the app and it will walk you through everything. This shoould be nothing new, everything is setup through an app these days. Also, I must mention that the app walks you through each each feature the camera has so you can determine which one would work for you or not.
Local storage is included instead of a paid subscription to the cloud.
The privacy feature was a nice addition, it can be turned via the button on the camera or the tapo app.
The recordings were nice and sharp in 2K. The motion tracking and notifications worked well and was on point.
Night vision worked very well also, this camera calls it "Starlight"
I have other cameras in my home which have a very wide view, but I think I like the pan tilt zoom functionality better. I like being able to track an individual instead of watching them go out of view.
I am giving this camera five stars because I really cannot find any cons for this device.

What can I say about this camera. First off the resolution on it is amazing. the images that you ca see are so vivid and clear. I was surely impressed with the resolution. when you think of most cameras you get resolution that isn’t very clear, fuzzy or dim . Most does it record when the subject is moving or moves out of the way of the camera but this one does. When yo move out of the way of the lens, his camera moves with the subject. this is one thing i love about it because you get an all around clear view of all the action around your property. Another plus about this camera is the clear and articulate audio. No static or muffled sounds. this camera would be good for your nursery. You can put this camera in your nursery and heck on your hold and not disturb them when you just laid them down for the night or for a nap. You can customize specific Zones for recoding. My basement gets a lot of recording so i can turn this off since it is a high traffic area that the family uses i would have to say that this is one camera that I would all around my home.

TP-Link has been consistently spitting out quality products at an affordable price - I lost count how many Kasa smart plugs and switches I’ve bought over the years for both my own and my parent’s home. The Tapo TC73 WiFi camera is the first security camera I’ve used from TP-Link, and in short I’m impressed by the quality/features considering the price.
Pros:
Super easy to connect and customize all the settings
The ‘Tapo’ app includes support for previous ‘Kasa’ products
Lots of AI based features, with controllable sensitivity. Most of the detection were spot on, except I found the dog bark detection registering a lot of false positives
Connectivity has been hassle free for the last month or so I have used with no drop or access issue, from both home WiFI and also from outside using mobile network
2k video quality is very good, and captures great detail
Has local storage option through a microSD card support (up to 512 GB), and recording can be either continuous or ‘incident’ snippets. This is not a typical feature I saw some other cameras in this price point
Cloud storage is optional, and does not limit much functionality
Very good low light performance
Can see pretty well, in a limited range, in entire darkness with the built-in IR light
Support Google Assistant, Amazon Alexa and Apple Homekit
Comes with basic mounting kit to place the camera on the wall or ceiling
Have patrol mode
Cons:
Even though it says it supports WiFi 6, it only connects to the 2.4 GHz network
Panning speed felt a slow at times
Design is average, like all the thousands of cheap cameras available
In summary, the Tapo camera provides great value for budget oriented buyers, without skimping much features.

Setting up this camera is easy and the camera is well integrated into Google and Apple home, I tried both of smart home systems and they all work well. The camera supports Wifi 6 therefore while video and audio lag are still noticeable but it is kept minimum. Inserting the micro SD Card will require user to manually tilt the camera, which is not immediately obvious because there is a button to automatically tilt the camera. However, the said button will not tilt the camera up to the degree needed to expose the micro SD slot. The said button in effect functions as a physical privacy shutter, which is a must for everyone looking for an indoor surveillance camera solution.
Overall image quality is good, picture is clear and sharp and audio seems to pick up sound pretty well. App control works well and I can tilt and pan the camera from the app without hick-ups. Programming the camera’s function through the app, such as on what conditions should the camera start recording, is simple and easy enough.
The camera comes with free trial of the Tapocare, which is TP Link’s subscription service for cloud video recording. This is where things get a bit more boring as subscription-based cloud recording is not something new for security cameras. Though that paid subscription is the norm these days, consumers might not be willing to pay them and may look elsewhere that give customers several hours or even completely free cloud recording. Unfortunately, the only way to get the clip recorded in the cloud is through subscription.
The AI features work pretty well, though to be fair it’s not really that special these days. The camera can immediately record whenever there’s an object entering given area and the app gives us notification what kind of object it is, which is pretty standard nowadays.
In conclusion, this is a camera that works well, easy enough to setup and gives you good image and audio quality. The cloud storage subscription is its achilles’ heel.

This is a very easy to use and very capable security camera.
Setup couldn't be any easier. Download the app from the app store for your phone (iOS or Android), connect your phone (or tablet) to the camera, answer a few set up questinos, and then you are off to the races. It really is that simple which is a refreshing change from so many other cameras out there.
Picture quality is rather impressive, especially in low light. Both still picture and video is outstanding. Panning and tilting is a rather nifty feature and I find myself using it more than I thought I would.
The camera itself is not too large and really does not get in the way once you get it set where you want it.
You can enable notifications so that you'll know when the camera sees something, or someone. It's kind of nice to get a notification any time the cats are in the living room to make sure they are not killing each other. i can also blame the right can when something gets knocked down and broken.
Overall I am very impressed with the performance of this camera.

Solid camera; app could be better

The TP-Link Tapo TC73 is a solid security camera for home. Instead of using a wide lens that’s typical of cameras with a fix viewpoint, this model uses a 98° lens with the ability to pan/tilt. Overall, that lets you see a more natural image without as much edge warping or fisheye.
Positives
- Integrates with Apple Homekit, Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant. Note that Apple Homekit will let you stream the video to your phone but Google Home requires streaming via Chromecast or a smart display. Of course, you can use the Tapo app to stream instead.
- Image can be inverted if the camera is mounted on a ceiling.
- So far it’s reliable. I had another brand’s camera and it would keep dropping the WiFi connection intermittently, despite being called a smart thing.
- Lets you record to a microSD card, or, for a subscription, you can record to their cloud.
- Night mode is excellent and lets you set it for far distance use (like outdoors) or near distance (like watching a crib).
- Has a physical cover for privacy.
- AI that detects abnormal sounds like baby crying, breaking glass and more. Also detects if the cameras sees motion, people, pets, or a vehicle. You can also set up a boundary and be notified if a person or object crosses it from either or both directions. Note: it does not recognize individuals, only that a person is in the frame.
- The Tapo app lets you bookmark up to 8 custom points of view. That’s a nice way to quickly jump to a viewpoint without having to use the pan/tilt control.
Negatives
- The Tapo app needs work. It’s easy to use if you only want to adjust simple settings, watch a live stream, pan/tilt the view. But it’s simply not intuitive for more than that. For example, if you want to create a scene for when you leave home, you would think it’s in the “Smart” tab under the “Automation” or “Routine Actions” sections. But “Routine Actions” are pre-built ways to turn off/on Tapo devices. And “Automation” is a way to run automations triggered on time schedules or if the camera makes a detection. Instead, you have to go to the “Cameras” tab where there are two prebuilt modes for Home and Away, with no ability to create your own. Even then, the two modes don’t let you finely adjust the settings, for example, if you want to the camera to jump to a specific viewpoint when you leave. The process of adding the camera to the Tapo app is not difficult but could be improved. For example, there is no auto-discovery of the device. You have to pick the camera off a long menu of devices.
- There is no zoom function on the camera though with 2K QHD resolution (2560 x 1440), you can zoom in on the video stream and still get a good image.
- The image can only be flipped 180° which means it will work if mounted on a ceiling but not sideways on a wall.
- Panning in the down direction is a bit limiting for my setup. I have it on a mantle and cannot pan down to see the area close to the mantle, creating a blind spot. Alternatively, if the 98° field of view was a little wider, that would have worked for me.
- The device is colored white. While attractive, I would rather it be black to attract less attention.
- The product page on TP-Link’s website makes reference to a couple of features that I could not find in the app: IR Light Toggle and Activity Zones.
Overall, I give this camera 4 stars, dropping a star for the app experience. Otherwise it’s a solid camera.

The TP-Link Tapo TC73 Pan/Tilt AI Wired Security Camera is a standout product in the world of home security. Boasting impressive features, this camera offers peace of mind and advanced functionality at an affordable price.
One of the standout features is its AI capabilities. The camera's AI recognition system is incredibly accurate, distinguishing between humans, pets, and random motion. This reduces false alerts, ensuring you're only notified when it truly matters. The pan and tilt functionality enables you to keep a watchful eye on your entire space, with a 360-degree horizontal rotation and 114-degree vertical range.
Installation is a breeze, thanks to the straightforward setup process and the user-friendly Tapo app. The app provides remote access to your camera, allowing you to check on your home from anywhere. It also supports two-way audio, making it easy to communicate with family members or pets when you're away.
The image quality is sharp and clear, with 1080p resolution. Night vision performance is impressive too, offering detailed surveillance even in complete darkness. The camera also supports microSD cards, providing local storage for your video footage.
What truly sets the TP-Link Tapo TC73 apart is its affordability. It offers premium features that rival more expensive competitors. While it doesn't offer cloud storage, the option for local storage, along with its cost-effective pricing, makes this a fantastic value.
This camera alerted me of people in my home while I was at work and was able to respond and keep my dogs safe! This is a huge need for all homes for security reasons!

I have become a fan of TP-Link wireless products because the user experience has been smooth and easy. The Tapo TC73 Pan / Tilt camera continues this trajectory and is a great surveillance camera, especially at this price point.
One comment first: the title of the product says "Wired Security Camera". When I see "wired" I think that means it needs to be connected by Ethernet cable directly to a central hub, but this camera is wireless and stands alone. That tripped me up at first. I guess they mean that it does not run on batteries but needs a wired power source (provided).
The camera tilt/pan capabilities are smooth and silent and provide a nearly 360 degree rotation and 90 degree up angle. I can see people using this to monitor pets while away with the ability to look around further. But even without the pan/tilt the camera has a fairly wide viewing angle.
The TP-Link Tapo app is very easy to use and setup. I like the fact that the Tapo app allows other TP-link products, such as the older Kasa cameras, to be incorporated into one app.
The camera has impressive night vision capabilities. There is a mode for wider, larger shots that are further away with a brighter IR light source, and a mode for smaller rooms with a dimmer IR light source. But one of the things TP-Link missed on this is the ability to completely turn off the IR/night vision mode. For my use case that is important.
I would have given 5 stars if not for the inability to turn off the IR light.

I got the TP-Link - Tapo TC73 AI Home Security Pan/Tilt Wi-Fi Camera to easily check the activity at the house when I'm at work. I found that it gives me a lot of options in the placement as well as what activity will trigger the recording. It can be attached to the wall, the ceiling for just placed on a shelf. It has a much wider range of where it can record than I originally thought, greater than 180 degrees. The quality of the video is quite clear which I wasn't expecting at this price point. I have the option of saving the video to the cloud for a monthly fee or using an SD micro card to keep it local.
The app was easy to download as well as being easy to paid the camera with my phone and with Alexa. In fact, the only thing not easy was initializing the SD micro card. The camera was reading the card was inserted but nothing showed me how to initialize it. I looked in the help section - that only told me where the location of the slot or it was and how to access it. I'm not sure why the button to initialize the card didn't come up at first but eventually it did and once that happened, all was well. But the hassle of that is what lost this camera a star.
There is a privacy mode which can be accessed both on the camera itself as well as from the app. You can determine what you want the camera to look for so if what you want is to see what the dog is up to, or don't want the cat to trigger it at night, you can set it so that the camera looks for the dog or will ignore the cat. Want to make a naughty child jump? Well, you can talk through the camera as well to let them know you are watching them. You can choose to get notifications or turn that off.
There seems to be so much more that can be done that I've just not tried yet such as set an alarm. Overall, I'm happy with the TP-Link-Tapo TC73 Camera.

I am already a fan on this brand and it did not disappoint. The camera for what it is could be easily one of the top non-professional camera's available. The apps just work and the performance is above average. I use this brand for my WIFI and this performs very well. They thought of all the concerns one would have like security and usability. Security is great for both if you just want to disable the camera so it does not record or you don't want your feed to be compromised. Of course there are always ways around things but for the normal home user, security is covered well. I have had a comparable camera before that just did not hold up over time. I really feel like this brand and implementation hits the sweet spot to be relevant for many years to come. The only real caveats that I found were that it needs to be near an electrical outlook which at least it won't run out battery power, the SD card can only be up to 512GB which is not small but not the same as set it and forget about it either. I will be looking cameras from this brand as I replace my home security system in the future.

This Tapo camera is just what we needed for when our grandkid's spend the night with us. They are 2 and 3 years old and sleep in the same room. The room is down the hallway from us so I wanted to make sure I heard them if they woke up in the night and be able to see them if needed. The camera was super easy to set up and connect to our wifi. The pan/tilt mode allows me to move the camera around so I can see the whole room and both kiddos. I love that the camera has a 2 way built in microphone/speaker so that I can talk to my grandkids through the camera - "go to sleep my loves". The night vision works great when the room is dark while my grandkids are sleeping allowing me to still be able to have a good view of them. I anticipate that I will use that camera for other uses other than a monitor for my grandkids....maybe to watch my dog when we are away from the house. The camera comes with a 2 year warranty and 24/7 Tech support. I'm very pleased with the quality of this camera and give it 2 thumbs up!

The Tapo TP Link Pan/tilt Home Security Wi-fi camera, model TC73 is one of the newest products of the home security line from Tapo. It's modern-looking design looks great on a table - or wherever you place it - and looks more like a portable speaker than a camera.
It easily connects to home Wifi network through the Tapo app and it was up and running in no time. Included is an AC adapter so no worries about battery life.
Works with Google assistant, Amazon Alexa, and will integrate into your Apple Home system as well. The 2k resolution provides crisp, clear videos that surpass even 1080p.
The TC73 offers a privacy feature which can be operated by pushing a button on the camera, or through the app. Within the app, you can also control the pan/tilt feature of the camera, which is both smooth and quiet. It utilizes smart motion tracking which rotates the camera up to 120 degrees to track and follow its subject. The red recording indicator light can also be turned off to prevent disruptions to kids or pets. And, it has the ability to capture high quality color images in low-light, up to 30 feet away.
It has a slot for a Micro SD card storage up to 512gb, or you can subscribe to their online storage services.
Please note that this is an indoor camera which is not labeled on the box. In the small print in the instructions, it says you should avoid excessive heat/moisture so be sure not to use it outside!
As an indoor camera, it works great and looks good too!

Bugged camera. The only one special.

This is a bugged camera. It has an led light. I turned it off in the app. It turns back on by itself. Do not buy. This was the "ONLY ONE LEFT SPECIAL". While viewing live you can hear people in the background talking. That aren't in your home. Returning.

Brand response from TPLinkSupport

Hi,
Thank you for your review. The Status LED on the camera can be conveniently disabled via the Tapo app. In your case, please ensure the camera's firmware is fully up to date, and that it is receiving stable 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi signal from your router. The Status LED will still alert you of a network connection issue when toggled Off.
If the camera's microphone is positioned in an area where ambient noise or reverberation can cause audio distortion, some sounds may sound "thin" or "muffled", depending on the sound source.
