I've long been a fan of TP-Link's smart products. I have several of their smart plugs, switches, extensions... And now an outdoor plug. Setup was very easy and straightforward. This is the first Tapo brand device I've owned, and instead of being able to add the device via my existing Kasa app, I was forced to download the Tapa app instead. Log in was the same credentials my Kasa app. A nice touch was that all of my casa appliances were easily added to the tapa app, allowing me to fully delete the casa app from my phone. Nice move TP-Link. After adding the device to my phone I was able to take it outside and set it up with some new string lights along my back patio. The plug itself has two outlets that are each controllable separately via the app. And another nice touch is that the rubber grommets that are used to weather seal each plug are actually attached to the plug itself. My prior outdoor plug just had removable grommets, which were too easy to misplace and lose. I set up the schedule for my string lights with the tapa app and everything was quick and easy. Honestly these apps from TP-Link make the process and scheduling is easy as pie. I now have fully functional, scheduled string lights that really help illuminate and add some pizzazz to my back patio.

I'm really impressed with the TP-Link Outdoor Smart Plug! It’s easy to set up, works seamlessly with the app, and lets me control my outdoor devices from anywhere. The plug is weatherproof and durable, and the scheduling feature is a great bonus. Overall, a reliable and convenient product. Highly recommended!

I'm going to keep this review limited to the "smart" technology within this outdoor plug. We all know how outdoor extension cords work, if not, there are plenty of other reviews out there. I will at least say, this outdoor plug works as you'd expect an outdoor plug to work. This is my first matter enabled device, so I was super excited to try it out. If you're not familiar with what "matter" is, essentially, it is a new "smart device" standard that makes pairing to either Apple HomeKit or Google Home so much easier. It cuts out the need for a vendor proprietary app. I can positively say, that Matter on the The TP-Link Tapo was flawless! I have multiple devices and I often attempt to setup my entire smart home using both Apple's HomeKit and Google's Home. This ensured I can stay a bit "agnostic" with my gadgets and go between either ecosystem with ease and first party support and experiences. I started off with HomeKit pairing. I scanned the QR code on the back using the HomeKit app and within about 2 minutes the TP-Link Tapo Smart plug was displayed in my HomeKit app. Both outlets show up as individually selectable "on/off" triggers (see screenshots) and it just worked. If I were to have set this up in Google Home, the experience would have been nearly identical. However, since I'm setting this up in BOTH platforms, setting this up in Goolge Home works a bit differently. TP-Link is also clear on these instructions within the included documentation. Essentially, what I had to do, was from the newly added HomeKit device, go into the device settings and generate a new pairing code. When adding to Google, I pasted in this new pairing code and it worked flawlessly to add it to both places. This is a necessary security step Matter has taken so that devices, once paired to a platform, cannot be overtaken by someone else until they are unpaired. Overall, this is a super simple setup and a flawless experience. Matter has shown it does exactly what it's intended to do, and there is no "junk" third party apps needed at all. This is a super handy outlet device that has many use cases from on/off automation, to voice control, etc.. esp handy with the upcoming holiday lighting or decorations.

I bought this outdoor plug to use with our lighted door garland and tree lights. The plug was easy to setup and there were no issues connecting to my home network. Two sets of lights can be connected to this plug and can be controlled independently. I can easily turn the lights on or off using Alexa.

Very easy to set up using app. It also works very smooth with Alexa. The outlet covers are made of rubber/plastic and one of them teared when pulled (It was possible to reinstall it when the outlet is not in use). Overall, cheap and convenient solution for smart outlets.

Works really well! Great connectivity and it is waterproof, as expected out of an outdoor plug. The Tapo app used for connectivity is also seamless.

Setup is fairly easy as is programming the timer and general app use. I also like that it’s a right angle plug so it’s more low profile in tight spaces. The problem is that the plug has a long straight tail that prevents you from using 2 units in a standard outlet. If you have multiple items that need timers/control such as 2 terrariums you’ll need a power strip. Even them, the long straight tail covers about 4 outlets. If the flat plug had a 45 degree angle vs a 90 that blocked other outlets, it would be 5 star for sure.

Honest. If you haven’t upgraded your outdoor light game. This is a great product, Matter delivers, simple setup.

I bought this for my Christmas lights so I could just turn them on and off from my phone, which is great in case I forget to turn them off during the day, but if I do forget It doesn't matter because you can just choose to have the plug turn off and on automatically, Works Great

The setup process was very easy and the device responds to ON/OFF commends from the App very reliably. Unlike some other 2-outlet plugs, this one you can control each outlet individually. The build quality feels solid. You can also toggle the ON/OFF from the plug in case you don't have access to the App. Very happy with the purchase

The Tapo TP25 outdoor smart plugs are great! They connect to wifi very easily and quickly using the Tapo app. I especially like that this one device has 2 individually controlled outlets The app is really nice as well.

Love this plug! Used it to control my Christmas lights and it worked beautifully! I was able to create a schedule, no more plugging in and unplugging lights! Easily connected to Alexa too.

The new Tapo smart outdoor plug worked wel immediately. No installation quirks, no troubleshooting exercises. Just connect to your network and fine tune. Amazing. I am motivated to see what other highly capable smart tools TP Link has developed.

Great smart plug. Easy set up and easy to use. Have Christmas light plugged in and have it on a timer through the app. Never have to go outside to turn on/off lights.

Works great. Setup and connection was simple. I have my Christmas lights connected to it. Love that I can set a timer to turn them on and off automatically!

This smart plug is perfect if you have a none smart device that you have to plug in to get it going. Personally for my self I have some parking lights that sit away from the property which I had to manually plug in, it was a pain to have to go down and plug them in and unplug them. The Tapo smart plug eliminated this. I was able to connect it with the Tapo app and the pairing went smooth, since this also has matter support I was able to integrate it with the HomeAssistant. When using either the Tapo app or Homeassistant I am able to turn on and off the parking lights and there is no lag what so ever. The Plug has a solid plastic built to it and the buttons have a firm tactile feel. The Smart plug has held up great in the outdoors ( 2+ weeks of 104+ temp) and i dont see any cracking from sun damage.

Got this on a good sale. Used it for my outdoor Christmas tree lights. It was easy to set up and use through the app.

Great smart switch. I have a Deco TP Link network and this works flawlessly. This is a must-have for outdoor Christmas lights!
