You do not need to download the manufacturer app. Items worked reliably and continues to every day. I originally set it up to control christmas lights. Now its pulling duty on the outdoor patio string lights.

Scheduling their times of operation is so easy with the Apple HomeKit. Much cheaper than other similar gadgets too!
