Easy set up with user friendly apps and works well with generic solar panels for outdoor set up. For the price i paid for it, this camera is better than arlo. I recommend it highly for beginners and don’t want subscription.++++++++

Did a lot of searching for battery wireless cameras. These are magnetic which if you want to move them around is great. They seem to be handling the outdoor environment well, as it has been cold and rainy for several days. I have one for the front of the house and the other 2 I move around. It has light and siren/other noises alarms. Keeps the deer guessing. Great price on sale also. 300 days might be pushing it but after a week, the front which points at a sidewalk is still at 98% The other 2 which are chasing off deer are at 99%

I've been testing the Tapo TC85 3 Pack Security cameras for about a week. The security cameras have some good features, such as great mounting options, good build quality, camera resolution, and a cool AI feature that detects vehicles, pets, and people. However, the cameras are overshadowed by the accompanying app and poor performance, such as the need for a MicroSD card to record, long battery charging time, buggy app, lack of a web interface, and inconsistent motion detection. The Good - The build quality and camera resolution are good. All the equipment seems solid, and in daylight, the picture looks fantastic. However, at night, the picture quality is just acceptable. - The cameras are easily mounted to just about anything. On steel, you don't need anything to mount them. The super strong magnets hold better than any camera magnet I have used. If it's a material you don't want to drill into, they provide double-sided tape and a small steel pancake for the camera to mount to. This is the perfect solution for anyone who doesn't want to drill holes. - The AI feature is really cool. Whenever the camera detects a vehicle, pet, or person, it puts a little square around them and sends a push notification. The Bad - The first negative thing about these cameras is that they need a microSD card to record. Without a microSD card, the cameras are just like CCTV. They will notify you of an alert, but they will not record anything. If you add a microSD card, they will only record 20 seconds. There's a setting to extend the record time, but it doesn't work. - The batteries can take up to 5 hours to charge. This is most likely because of the outdated micro USB connector. - Another issue with these cameras is that the app is very unpolished. It seems that Tapo created one app for all their devices instead of making a dedicated camera app. Because of this, there are many bugs, redundant menus, and some settings won't save. - Push notifications come in pretty fast. However, they do not come with a thumbnail. Also, when you tap on one of the notifications, it doesn't take you to the video; it takes you to the main screen. - The cameras can only be viewed in the app. There is no Tapo web interface to view your cameras using a PC. If you do want to view video on your PC, you have to download a third-party app and punch a hole in your router configuration. -Finally, the cameras do not catch all activity. I found that I received more false negative alerts than true positive ones. Even when I specifically would try to make the cameras alert, they only caught activity about 20 percent of the time. With all that said, These cameras are newly released and I am one of the first people to test them. So, hopefully Tapo works out these bugs with an update to firmware or the app. But at this point I just can't recommend them.

Deal of the day pricing made it affordable. I added memory cards to these to avoid a subscription and can play those videos back remotely at any time. Sometimes it loses connection with wifi probably because the range of my wifi is stretched at the one camera. Easy to get working with their app and with Alexa and Google home. Have had to recharge them more often that advertised but at least they are rechargeable and I don't have to spend more $ on batteries. This makes them easier to install anywhere you have a wifi signal, no electric needed.

Love those cams. Each one handles video recording locally to the microSD card and to cloud. Great video/audio quality. Small issues with triggered events but could be easily fixed by customizing settings.

I ordered these specifically because it suited my needs. I didn’t want a subscription model setup and wanted local storage. The battery life has been amazing so far. I estimate I’ll get several months worth of battery before I have to recharge them. The app features are great and highly customizable. Picture clarity is crystal clear and audio is good. It was easy to install and connect.

Excellent product. The magnetic mounts make it super easy to set the cameras in place without tools provided you've got a metal surface to attach them to. (not aluminum) WIFI setup was easy. The app works well.

It took a while but i finally found a camera set that can do everything i need it to for a good price. The waulity is great and does what its supposed to do. 3 is just the right amount as well. A couple on the front and one on the backyard. Cant complain. Easy to mount and aim as well. Couldnt pull trigger on the big name brands. To many bad

This is an outstanding product and value. The cameras are easy to install. The picture quality is excellent. The app is intuitive and easy to use. And the alerts are timely. There’s nothing not to like.

These cameras have a beautiful picture, they stay online (most of the time), and the batteries last for a while. Everytime I've needed them though, the recording was just not there for one reason or another. I guess if you want to use their cloud service that costs almost as much as the cameras per year, the results might be better for you. I bought these for the SD card feature though, and that feature is sub-par at best. I suspect they put less effort into making that feature reliable since their real motive must be to sink you into their cloud recording service so you can give them more money after you've already dropped a dime on the product. I certainly won't be addidng on to these and will be looking at other alternatives. It really stinks because I kind of like TP-Link products.

Camera works great. great quality. easy to install. battery not lasting as advertised since there is lot of activity (in office), i guess for home usage, it should be better. anyways, you can always connect power supply if needed. Love their software too + cloud recording not too expensive for up to 10 cameras.

These are really good. We can see everything and they were easy to install, connect, etc. My only issue is setting the sensitivity.

These were very easy to set up. Easy adjustments for detection sensitivity for each type of movement, ie pets, people cars. Clear picture at night even after dark. The magnetic base is great for tweaking the direction and angle of view and for allowing easy removal for charging and then replacement. I like the wireless connection and where recording is done in the camera but can be accessed by your phone using the Tapo app.

Pro; the video is amazing. The clarity is the best I’ve seen and I’ve had quite a few. Cons: the App SUCKS. You can’t select record and close the program because it stops the camera. I think TP did a great job with the camera itself. I’m also getting great battery life. I have 3 w/mag base and 3 with Tapo HUB. I have no idea what toddler wrote the app or worse yet the guy/girl who approved it. It is the definition of happy and sad at the same time

Very pleased with the value for the money. It was fairly easy to install and set up. There is some features that they can improve upon such as the 24 hour format on the time of recordings. But this is minor to the peace of mind with the coverage and numerous options and features.

Only 3 weeks in but at this point I'm very happy with my purchase. Everything was easy to set up. Cameras and battery life seem good. I bought after my neighbor who has had them for quite a while recommend them to me.

Definitely recommend. If your looking for a budget friendly security camera set. This is it. It has tons of features and adjustability. Great camera quality. Easy to use app!

Great cameras, If you’re looking for something that’s easy to mount yourself the app is easy to use and the videos are clear. The audio was clear really really good cameras for the price.

I was able to connect these to my wifi even though they are outside. (I've had other products (birdfeeder) which couldn't do that.) There's no way that the battery will last the 300 days. I'll probably get 2-3 months and then they'll need to be recharged. They're attached via magnet, so if they're within arms reach, someone could just grab it and walk away with it. At least you'll get them on camera doing it. I'm quite happy with the purchase.
