Once I installed the first one, it worked pretty good. So well, I bought another one to install in another room. Made switching from cable box to all streaming easier.

Boost your wireless with this TP-LINK RE200 Wi-Fi range extender, which features compatibility with 802.11b/g/n and 802.11ac wireless standards for wide-ranging use. The Smart Signal indicator light helps ensure optimal placement. Reasonable price point.

    Using as a wireless repeater

    |
    Posted .

Brought signal reliability up for a section of my apt that got pretty bad signal. I ended up using the 5GHz band to connect to the router from the repeater and used the 2.4 GHz band to broadcast to the rest of the apartment as the devices that needed help were limited to that band.

extends range into corners of house

    |
    Posted .

It was easy to setup and has extended the range into the corners of the house that didn't have coverage before. I have found the 5Ghz has a very short range so I am just using the 2.4Ghz on the extender. This isn't a flaw in the extender just limitations with the higher frequency.

Works great extending your wifi coverage @ home

This product is great if you have some dead spot at home. Setup is very easy. You can duplicate your existing SSID or generate a new one. There is no option to change the passphrase, though. This product does not work if you are in a hotel that requires you enter an e-mail address to login, paid or as a guest, unless I'm missing something in the configuration. Overall this product works great if you have a big home to cover.

This little jewel stays modestly hidden in my kitchen to expand the WiFi in my home - and uses the same WiFi network SSID so it is transparent to my wife and kids to hop on without reloading yet another hotspot in our lives. Very happy with it and would definitely recommend. Runs on both 2.4 and 5 GHz concurrently.

    Mostly Stable

The setup was easy. I've had to relocate the unit or disconnect and reconnect to a wall outlet a few times to find and keep a good signal. Otherwise, I'm very happy with the product. It extends my wi-fi signal to my living room at the other end of house and to an outdoor area which were dead zones before.

    Good quality for the price

Bought this extender for a great price and I've been fairly pleased with it. Every once in a while I have to unplug it and let it restart, but the majority of the time it stays connected to the main router quite well. When things are running smoothly, it definitely fills the Wi-Fi gaps in the house.

Configuring by WPS didn't work for me. I was able to configure it through the built-in webpage, and it worked fine. However, when I tried to make changes to the configuration later, re-connecting to the built-in webpage was problematic. Once all configuration is done, it works well.

    Great inexspense booster

This booster is for someone with a small house that needs a little boost. It is not the best on the market by any means but it will get the job done. It is very easy to set up and even has the option to plug in an Ethernet cable into it.

Did not see any difference between this router vs. other more or less expensive routers. All of them have sometimes dropped service in the areas where they had service just a few min ago. After a while (time varies) the service is available again.

Was looking for a range extender for wifi... Wasn't planning on spending a lot. Read the reviews on this one. People seemed to like it. Not a lot of issues. It arrived, and very easy to install. Happy with product and can now extend my wifi further..

    Did what I hoped

After months of aimless research... Long story. The Wifi is in my home office, the RV is on the opposite side of the house. I was trying to figure out a way to get TV reception to it for when people came to visit and chose to sleep in the RV. I put in a new Roku TV and a new antenna on the roof of the RV but still not luck. I am not tech knowledgeable even though I am the tech person in home and I didn't want to invest a small bank roll for the limited use needed. Finally I decided to try this $30-$40 little gadget. I could always return it. Turned out not only did it reach out to the motor home but it made all the Wifi better in house. (only 1500 square foot home but still). My bedroom TV after updating Wifi went from Good to Excellent. Now guests can watch free TV. I did not find the directions that helpful, mainly because everyone has different Wifi and I don't know if they are to simple or not detailed enough but I found Youtube instructions that walked through it in detail and was actually very simple. You do have to log on to get it to work but that went off without a hitch. If you are just looking for that boost to something that is almost getting the wifi, I would say give it a try.

Works well enough for what I need

I researched the product quite a bit before purchasing. I couldn't decide between this product or a powerline type of product and I ended up with this simply because of price and it works as advertised. My Mac had a hard time getting the WiFi signal from the other end of the house where the awful AT&T router is. But now, there's no issue, repeats the signal out far and fast enough, really enjoying it (also get to use WiFi while I cut the yard for radio on my phone since the signal reaches that far out).

My apartment has two floors in a building constructed of deep concrete. Before I bought the unit, my internet speed was hit and miss, mostly miss at speeds that made streaming like water torture. Now I get a steady and reasonably fast signal. My binging nights are back on schedule!!!

It helps my phone and iPad keep service while in my bedroom, but it hasn't solved my problem with the roku. It shows that signal is good, but the streaming still skips.
