Very nifty device if you can configure it to work

Out of the box, this device is aesthetically appealing with a very small foot print. I purchased this to extend the range of my wireless router but can be used in other modes as well including a wireless router. I agree with a reviewer that this thing is not friendly to log into and configure it. I consider myself somewhat tech savvy and it took me over an hour to finally figure out how to log into this thing. But once you get into the configuration settings, everything else is a breeze and it works like a champ. To configure this thing (also read the instructions), you need to connect the LAN ethernet first from the device to the computer. Make sure all other adapters are disabled. Then follow the instructions to set the static IP and DNS server under the properties in the LAN adapter settings for the IPv4 properties. This is not normally done for routers I used before. Once you are in, you can choose what you want, configure and save it. After that, it should be a breeze. If you do already have internet access, it seems like you can just plug and play but you will need to use the default SSID and passcode settings displayed on the device. Overall, if this device was easily configurable, I would give it 5 stars. However, I am only using it as a repeater and it seems to work well. Hopefully, I will get to travel and see how it fares out.

Setup for MAC OS is very painful

    • My Best Buy® MemberMember

This product had a good price, very small in size, easy to carry around and perfect for travel. Setting up this product is very painful. if you are a MAC OS than you know what i mean when i say painful. i was trying to add it as repeater to my airport base station. Although it came with instructions, i still had to search all over the internet to get clues in setting it (i don't even know if i set it up correctly and if it is working properly). but i am not giving up. i hope the company will come up with video tutorials for the setup on a MAC OS for all 3modes(Client mode,Repeater or Bridge). if you have video tutorials, please post the links, we will all benefit from it. Thanks
