Damaged out of box

Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed.This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Everything was going great with assembly until the fina step of attaching the lid. There are scratches on the lid down to the steel. I am worried about rust and CS has given me the run around 3 times. I just want a lid with no scratches. I even purchased the hundred dollar cover to protect it because I want this to last.
