Works but description is misleading

I feel like the description from the manufacturer is very misleading. The wallet does function however it only has a handful of coins that the wallet supports directly. Most of the coins on the list you have to go through metamask and link it to the wallet. I was expecting this wallet to be able to support the “thousands” of coins it says it can directly. Honestly if I still have to use other wallets and this one, I’m not going to go through the extra steps. Sure it is one more layer of security but it doesn’t do what I expect it should and keep things offline. There is still a software wallet needed.

When I first got my hands on the Trezor Safe 3 in Cosmic Black, I was excited. The box itself was sleek, giving off that premium vibe. As I opened it, the first thing I noticed was how well-packaged everything was. The device was snugly nestled in foam, with a few extras tucked underneath: a USB-C cable, a recovery seed card, and a quick start guide. No unnecessary frills, just what you need to get started.
Taking the Trezor Safe 3 out of the box, it felt solid. The Cosmic Black finish is pretty slick—definitely a step up from the basic plastic feel of some other hardware wallets. It has a nice heft to it, suggesting durability without being too heavy. The buttons are tactile and responsive, and the screen is bright and clear. Overall, it looks and feels like a premium device, which is reassuring when you’re trusting it with your crypto assets.
Setting up the Trezor Safe 3 was straightforward. I plugged it into my computer using the included USB-C cable, and the Trezor website walked me through the process. The interface is user-friendly, even for those who might not be super tech-savvy. Downloading and installing the Trezor Bridge software took just a few minutes. Once installed, the setup wizard guided me through creating a new wallet, generating a recovery seed, and setting a PIN. The whole process was smooth and only took about 15 minutes from start to finish.
Security is where the Trezor Safe 3 really shines. First off, the secure element ensures your private keys are stored safely within the device, protected from physical tampering. The PIN and passphrase options add an extra layer of security, and the recovery seed ensures you can recover your assets if the device is lost or damaged.
One feature I particularly appreciate is the ability to verify transactions on the device itself. This means you have to physically confirm each transaction, reducing the risk of remote attacks. The firmware is open-source, which is a big plus for transparency and trust. Regular updates from Trezor also ensure that the device stays secure against the latest threats.
All in all, the Trezor Safe 3 in Cosmic Black is an excellent choice for anyone serious about securing their cryptocurrency. The unboxing experience is premium, the device material is top-notch, and the setup is a breeze. Most importantly, the security features are robust, giving you peace of mind that your assets are well-protected. If you’re in the market for a reliable hardware wallet, the Trezor Safe 3 is definitely worth considering.

Handy Crypto Hardware Wallet

The Trezor - Safe 3 Secure Element Crypto Hardware Wallet is an easy to use, secure method for bit coin and digital currency data. The Trezor is easy to setup and comes with everything you need to get started. One USB-C cable and the device, along with instructions and helpful information for linking your digital currency accounts. You will need to set up the Trezor device using a laptop. There is no option for using a mobile or tablet device. I would imagine this is by design so that setup is handled securely. You can set up a seed of 20 words that protects your wallet (upgrades allow bigger seeds), an optional PIN, some additional steps, and then you can synchronize your wallet with allowed currencies that you may own.
There are some limitations to the types of cryptos supported by the device directly. Be sure to review the Trezor documentation for details on the specific types that are supported. Most of the common ones are supported.
I highly recommend the Trezor - Safe 3 Secure Element Crypto Hardware Wallet.

The Trezor Safe 3 Crypto Hardware Wallet is a great choice at a value price.
Where to start?
First off, the unit came attractively packaged in a small box. What was inside?
*Trezor 3 wallet
*Recovery cards {2}
*Standard USB-C cable
While I have been involved in Crypto for the last 3 years, a friend of mine who has been involved in Crypto since almost day uses the Trezor Model 3. When this offer came available to me via the Tech Insider Network, I asked him if it was a decent choice. With his experience, he told me this would be a good choice. Even better, he offered to help set it up for me.
One nice option he told me about was that you can set it up with a software update that operated in the original Bitcoin only environment. Big score, I only do Bitcoin and relied on his years of expertise!
Anyhoo, he came over and I bought a 6 pack of his favorite IPA as a thanks for his help... After about 20 to 30 minutes, we had it up and running and were able to do a quick and easy trade. I fiddled around with it for a bit nd found it to be realtively easy.
End of the day, if you are looking for secure, entry-level and well valued Crypto wallet, this is an excellent choice.
I would reccomend it to a friend!
Good choice!

Keeping Crypto offline and safe

In the ever-evolving landscape of cryptocurrency, the security of one's digital assets remains paramount. Trezor, a pioneer in hardware wallet technology, has consistently delivered cutting-edge solutions for crypto enthusiasts seeking robust protection. Their latest offering, the Trezor Safe 3, is a testament to their commitment to innovation and security. I have explored the Safe 3's design, features, security, user experience, and overall value proposition, and ready to shed light on its capabilities and potential drawbacks. The Trezor Safe 3 exudes an air of sophistication with its sleek and minimalist design. Crafted from premium materials, it feels solid and durable in hand. Its compact form factor makes it highly portable, fitting comfortably in a pocket or purse. The device features a crisp and vibrant touchscreen display, a departure from the physical buttons found in its predecessor, the Trezor Model One. This touchscreen interface enhances user interaction and streamlines navigation, making it more intuitive for both newcomers and experienced users. At the core of the Trezor Safe 3 lies its unwavering focus on security. It boasts an embedded Secure Element (EAL6+), a dedicated chip designed to safeguard sensitive cryptographic operations. This chip adds an extra layer of protection against potential attacks, ensuring that private keys remain isolated and inaccessible to malicious actors and attackers.
Additionally, the Safe 3 introduces a novel security feature: the device-entry passphrase. This passphrase acts as an additional shield, protecting the wallet even if it falls into the wrong hands. The passphrase is not stored on the device itself, further enhancing its security. While the Trezor Safe 3 excels in many areas, it is not without its limitations. Some users might find the touchscreen interface less tactile and responsive than physical buttons. Additionally, the device's compact size might make it challenging to input long passphrases or recovery seeds. That small screen thing was a little irritating but you get over it. The reliance on a computer or mobile device for accessing the Trezor Suite might be a minor inconvenience for some users who prefer a more standalone experience. However, this is a common limitation among most hardware wallets. The Trezor Safe 3 represents a significant step forward in hardware wallet technology. Its unwavering focus on security, coupled with its user-friendly interface and extensive feature set, makes it a compelling choice for crypto enthusiasts of all levels. While it may not be the most affordable option on the market, its value proposition lies in its ability to provide peace of mind and protect one's digital wealth. I’ll pay anything for peace of mind. To keep my crypto safe, this is well worth it.

It is a crypto Hardware wallet. At the end of the day that is what it does. It works. It works effectively. Using the Trezor safe 3 will give you the extra security any hardware wallet gives. This is a simple to use device. Easy to set up. It is up to the user to not forget their keys or passwords. That will be a huge mistake if it happens. Works with a lot of crypto currencies from BTC to ERC 20 tokens on any network that supports Dapps. The quality of the material in the build is good. I do not feel like the Trezor safe is going to fall apart any time soon. Seems very robust like it can handle a lot of abuse which is good considering it is going to help secure your crypto currencies. I like it. I recommend using a hardware wallet for any digital asset you plan to purchase for the Longterm. setting up the trezor was very simple. I appreciated the guide they included and the two keys to store your recovery phrase on. I would recommend not using that but it is up to you to figure out how you will store that information securely. Finances are always a target.

The Trezor Safe 3 is a hardware crypto currency wallet that emphasizes security above all else. The Safe 3 comes with the wallet, a USB-C cable, a couple of cards to keep track of security keys, and a couple of stickers. The usb port of the wallet comes with a security sticker covering it so you know it hasn't been tampered with after leaving the factory. It also comes without firmware installed as another added layer of security. You install it as one of the first steps of setting it up. Speaking of, set up is a relatively simple affair. You just plug it in, download the Trezor suite software if you haven't already, and follow the prompts. Whether you're new to crypto or experienced, you shouldn't have a problem setting this wallet up. All of the input on the device is done using the two navigation buttons on the front. It takes a little getting used to at first, but overall it still pretty intuitive. The screen on the device is very clear and easy to read. And overall, the device feels very well built. I am very happy with the Trezor Safe 3, and feel very confident keeping my crypto secure with it. I would highly recommend to anyone wanting a hardware crypto wallet.

I’m not here to try and convince anyone to invest into crypto currencies. It took me a long time to start investing and I’m far from certain of a viable future due to many powerful forces wanting to derail it. I also am not here to rant about those political forces. The only thing I really here for is to say IF you are looking to buy and hold Bitcoin or Etherium, get it off an exchange and into a hardware wallet! It’s the only way to truly own it. Well to say that and say this crypto wallet is a nice option to achieve that goal.
The Trezor Safe 3 is my second crypto wallet, having used a Ledger Nano for a couple years. My life currently has me split between two locations and I wanted a cold storage option at both spots. The Trezor wallet was very easy to set up. As I mentioned this was my second go around at this but the directions were direct and I think most anyone could set this thing up quick and easy with no prior experience. I would say understanding the deeper concepts of crypto and blockchain are far more complicated than actually setting this wallet like this and using it.
Set up required installing an app on my PC. Then after I connected my wallet via a USB cable I just followed the on screen instructions. The device itself is only a couple of inches long with a small screen and a couple buttons. Though the screen is small and I have less than perfect vision, I had no problems reading the small screen on the device. Total set up didn’t take very long at all.
Overall I am impressed with the ease of setup and use. The screen is easy to read and I even like how the device looks. The cost is very affordable and the company has a great reputation for being safe and secure. If you are looking for a basic secure wallet I think this an excellent choice to consider and I would absolutely recommend it to a friend.

This is definitely the future of cryptocurrency. I would rather have this, then use Coinbase or the like any day. It’s always best to keep your wallet off of the Internet. Breaches happen and this keeps you immune from those. It’s a very odd shape as a crypto wallet, but I dig it. There aren’t a lot of frills, but it has everything you need to keep your crypto safe and disconnected, which is the whole point. The quality is very good and the ease of use is super intuitive. I had no trouble getting up and running in 15 minutes. I definitely recommend this to anyone that doesn’t trust apps to keep their cryptocurrency safe – like myself. In the next model, I would like to see color screen just because I am very used to seeing color screens and I don’t think it’s a far reach to offer that. I could see using colors to Visually differentiate the vast cryptocurrency coins on the market today. You could help while you’re flipping through your portfolio on this device. I will only keep my cryptocurrency on this device as it feels 100% safer.

Mandatory if you own crypto

This is a must have if you are in crypto. For the new guys: hardware wallets are essential to safeguard your crypto holdings as they are essentially what are called cold wallets. Cold wallets are encrypted better and cannot get hacked while you are online as they do not have a sustained connection with the internet. The only time they are connected is when you use your private keys to connect it to the internet. Hot wallets on the other hand are much more hackable and there might be backdoor code snafus that might make your holdings vulnerable.
Safe 3 is a step up from Trezor One. You need to plug in your hardware wallet and follow the instructions. You may need to update the firmware. Just make sure that the seed phrase is not already populated as that might be a scammer's ploy and this has happened in the past with individuals who fell victims to this scam. Use the provided card to note your 12 or 24 word seed phrase. Store that phrase offline in a secured location. Remember, anyone who has access to your seed phrase will have access to all your crypto. The Trezor Suite is user-friendly. You can download it as an app for Windows or Mac or Android or IOS. The desktop version is better and will give you more options. Once you have set the PIN and the seed phrase, your wallet is all set. You can store plenty of crypto through Trezor. If using any Ethereum based tokens, remember to have some Ethereum in your wallet. If using Solana based tokens, you would need some Solana as well. Once you fiddle with all these , you will get used to the steps easily. One gripe I have had is that when you will plug-in your hardware wallet after some time, the firmware update will entail you restarting the wallet with the seed phrase again.
I really encourage everyone to use Trezor as they have been around for a long time and has had a strong presence in the space. This is a must have and quite user-friendly.

Definitely something to get used to. At first I thought this was going to be a bit of a headache to navigate with just two buttons, but it really just takes a few test runs and transfers to get used to it. The best part of course is not having to be tethered to a computer like when we first started. The concept is definitely useful and the display is clear and easy to read. The app integration of course could use some work, but that's how it typically is with these types of products anyway.
The only downside is that I wouldn't particularly recommend it for those who have crypto that requires a third party. That gets a little murky and I imagine it is going to take some time to really learn how the coins work, and which ones are actually supposed by devices like the Trezor. I have also heard about other devices not being able to hold coins for both BTC AND ETH on the same device, but this one seems to be just fine with it. We are fairly new in the crypto world and apparently missed the kinks and bugs with these portable trading devices, so hopefully that lasts. As always, research the product against what actual coins you have, if they are supported, and if they need third parties or not. Otherwise, I'd recommend the Trezor for sure.

The Trezor 3 has an overall size close to a key fob (thinner) and light weight while providing a good sense of security for your crypto. Designed to fit and travel anywhere with you for safe keeping. There’s an associated mobile app, “Trezor Suite”, to which you can connect your various crypto portfolios. Within the app you can send/receive crypto, track your portfolio, trade, and even pay directly from the app. Any transaction that is made will need require a second confirmation before proceeding. Setup is easy, plug in your Trezor, open the app, initial registration and setup to connect your portfolio and create any number of wallets needed to store and organize you crypto. There is an option for a hidden wallet also. The intent is to perform all of your trading and business through the Trezor Suite as it enables you to compare exchanges, and select which offer suits to trade. Some of the security implementations in use are the Tor Network, Coin Control, and Taproot; all of which enhance bitcoin safety, privacy, and network use overall. Best of all, Trezor support all of the top crypto while adding support for a high number of available coins.

Great Cold Storage

This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.
So I already have the Trezor Model T and I thought it would be good to have another cold storage device because I have twin sons and so this allows me to more easily split my crypto assets across two cold wallets vs. having it all on one for a few different reasons.
One, if one is lost then I do not lose all of my crypto. Two, with twin sons this allows me to leave each of them one wallet each and name it explicitly in my Final Will & Testament, especially since they are different models. Three, I am all about redundancy and so this just makes that even more so capable.
How does the Safe 3 compare to the Model T? Well, the Model T has a touch screen and will it was a little difficult with even my small hands it wasn't too bad. However, the Safe 3 you have to use the left & right buttons to navigate & input characters. A tad more laborious but not something utterly unusable, just be mindful of that fact. Also, the Safe 3 is black & white compared to the Model T being in color.
Overall I really like Trezor cold storage wallets and had always wanted to give them a try and lucky me I have gotten to do so twice in the span of the past year or so.
If you are looking at this item, and looking at this review, then you know that you need to get your assets off other storage mediums (such as *shutter* an exchange) and onto a cold storage option. You cannot go wrong with the Safe 3 because it is cheap, versatile, and simple to use.

Great Crypto Cold Wallet, Like the Design
|
Posted .
This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.
The Trezor Safe 3 is a cold storage crypto wallet. It has the right balance of security and usability to protect your coins. If you trade in BTC, ETH or any coin you should consider an offline wallet. I will state up front, by default Trezor supports mainstream popular coins more readily, you need to connect 3rd party wallets if you're a sophisticated crypto user.
-= In the Box =-
Is the Trezor Safe 3, a USB C to USB C cable, and an instruction leaflet, some stickers (cool), and recovery seed cards.
-= First Impressions =-
I like the unusual shape. Originally I was not sure about the design but I now like it because I feel there's a family member who may one day pull it out of my fire safe, think it's a USB key and accidentally wipe it. It looks very much as described, muted mostly matte black except for the screen. There's a USB C port and a security sticker to remove when it's new so you can be confident in the integrity of the wallet. This is NOT something you would buy used or second hand. The buttons have a firm click.
-= Setup =-
Setup requires downloading and installing the Trezor Suite app. One installed, there's key security integrity checks, then you step through the process of setting device PINs, recovery seed passphrases, etc. Then you're ready to go. The Trezor Suite software is, generally speaking, user friendly for mainstream coins (BTC, ETH, POLY, etc).
-= What's Good =-
The easiest answer here is physical security keys beats online only use every day of the week. The security sophistication is great - although goes into the area of how crazy secure do you want to be. I like that Trezor gives you the flexibility to trade off great security vs insanely super secure if you really want to go that far.
-= What's Not So Good =-
I'm 50/50 on this. The Trezor Safe 3 is now usable without the Trezor Suite installed. You can't power it on via USB to get your wallet address. This is not a deal breaker and is great from a security perspective, but it does place a lot of reliance on ensuring you always have a device with the Trezor software. If you need to receive coins when out, you need to install the Trezor Suite Lite app but it doesn't require the key connected - which feels like a miss, as you're relying on Apple to maintain the integrity of the app. There's no support for NFTs and adding other wallets (I added BAT, which I would consider reasonably popular) was a little convulated.
-= Final Thoughts =-
The Trezor Safe 3 is really a "if you know you know" kind of tech gadget. If you own or trade crypto, Trezor is a no brainer if you want or protect the security and integrity of coins. There's been too many high profile collapses, failures, etc. of web based exchanges that I only trust my keys to cold storage and if you want to protect your crypto assets, get the Trezor 3.

Convient pocket-sized wallet that's limited
|
Posted .
This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.
The Trezor Safe 3 is, overall, a handy and solid little wallet that can store certain crypto within it (please see their entire site for more details of what exactly can be stored in the wallet, in case it would be too limiting for your needs). Yet, this is considered to be a cold wallet, in that it's offline from the Internet, with no way of accessing it unless you connect it to a device such as a computer or phone.
Another limitation that I noticed (it might be intentional) is the fact that I had to use my laptop to actually set up the device, which must be done ahead of time. The nice thing about the process is that the process that Trezor takes you through first confirms how you physically received the wallet, then has you go through and select which crypto you're going to be storing in the wallet, and set up a seed of 20 words that protects your wallet (upgrades allow bigger seeds), an optional PIN, some additional steps, and then you're free to syncronize your wallet with allowed currencies that you may own.
The mobile version of the app allows you to synchronize between the wallet and the app; the desktop version appears to be more feature-rich.
Once again, be sure to familiarize yourself with Trezor's allowable currencies before getting this wallet, else it will be useless for you.
