A true representation of the Tron world, but...

Unlike that last review I bought and actually played the game. The game perfectly captures the look and feel of the Tron universe down to the amazing visuals and sounds. As a major Tron fan I was filled with smiles while I was dropped into the Tron world and truly bought into it. The story was also intriguing and exactly what any Tron fan could ask for. But just because it looks and sounds perfect that is all useless if the game play doesn’t come through. The game tries to replicate the acrobatic freedom of Assassins Creed and comes up very short. Questionable controls leads to more cussing than the amazement of all the different ways that you can choose to navigate this world. The poor control makes pulling off these maneuvers a test in frustration. Couple that with the “Super Mario Bros.” leaps of faith that you constantly have to use to get anywhere all I can say is that prepares to fall to your death a lot! The levels themselves are beautiful but the game play is the stale classic video game formula of go from point A to B fight along the way then repeat till a boss battle with some mindless jumping and falling and redoing till you get it right. The movies are innovative why couldn’t the programmers try to bring that innovation into the video game rather than giving some old out-dated game a sparkly new pretty face lift. If you love Tron you will love entering this world, but be warned Disney is not Ubi Soft and that the controls are horrible.

Compared to other third-person, over-the-shoulder, games, there is no way Tron: Evolution can be considered a "good" game. First, the camera is one of the worst I've ever experienced in the last three generations of video games. It's near impossible to control because it switches with the frequency of a Michael Bay film, and the control sensitivity is entirely too fast. Merely touch the right stick and the camera may zoom way to the other side of your character - not good considering your character is often running on the sides of walls. The camera attributed to 95%, or more, of my deaths. The enemy AI is plain cheap, which may have been acceptable years ago when games were still coming into their own. However, now, there's no excuse for games where enemies can repeatedly knock you down and keep you from being able to move, attack or block until you're dead. This is precisely how the game plays. If you don't keep running circles and let a group of enemies get an attack on you, you'll find yourself on the ground and then unable to move until you're dead. Beyond the cheapness of the enemies, the "Prince of Persia" mechanic is horribly flawed, almost essentially requiring you to hold R1 almost the entire time you're trying to play so you can try to run up walls or leap objects. You can run up some walls, but not up some others; You can run very high on some walls, but not high at all on others; You can wall jump against this wall, but not THAT wall. All in all, it's a mess. For a game with the Tron name, use of the Light Cycles is almost non-existent. Scripted segments where you have to outrun the enemy while dealing with the road blowing up in front of you - and if you even so much as tap the wall, you come to a dead stop if not die. There's no GRID challenge with the light cycles. You'll use the Light Tank 3 times more than the cycles. Multiplayer is ok, but shallow. Nothing more than Deathmatch, Team Deathmatch and a modified Capture the Flag in a Tron setting. All in all, Tron Evolution is a mess. I wouldn't even recommend it as a rental unless you absolutely need something to play. If you want to play a good third person action title, either play inFamous or Uncharted.

Boring and not worth the money

This game seemed kinda cool at first, but after playing it for a while, it was too easy and boring to say the least. To me, it was a game you can play online for free. It was ok for a while, but after a while it gets old and you never want to play it again. I played the multiplayer for a short time, and it was pretty cool how you could ride around on the light bike. And just like the movie, if you hit the light trail, you die, but if you come close to hitting the trail, you can easily get out of danger and not die so I didn't see the challenge there. Save your money, and do not buy. My recommendation is to just watch the movie and don't disappoint yourself with the game.

Tron for the PS3 brings an immersive Tron experience to the user. Graphics, sound and overall atmosphere are top notch. The user interface is pretty solid as well, however the controls are touchy at times and really interfere with the challenge of the game. My feeling was that the awkward camera control in the game lent to the character controls being frustrating at times. That said, I found the overall gameplay experience to be above average. It ends up being a good buy.

Disclaimer I have not actually played the game just have seen previews. First off you should know that because the game is based on the new movie there is a good chance that it will be terrible. However in this case being that the whole concept of TRON is that its based on a digit world, Tron has the potental to be one of the best games this year. This is a must have for any TRON fan. I also recommend Kingdom Hearts 2. In my opinion that is the best TRON game ever made.

If you like the movie, you'll like the game.

Colorful, fast and fun. However, as with all of the Move-compatible games, the Move device doesn't really add much to the experience. You feel like you're trying to play Wii with a PS3, which is a bit of an insult to the PS3. I don't think that's what the developers intended, but that's the end result. Play it with the standard controller, and you'll find the game to be quite fun.

First off I am a BIG FAN of the movies! FLYNN DOES LIVE!! Now secondly this game really isn't that good. Then again it is a movie video game and we ALL know how they, for the most part turn out. This game played way too fast and was getting pretty redundant. I only paid 15 dollars for it and also got my Disney rewards points so all it all it was worth the 15 I spent on it

Most critics call this an average game but if you're a fan of TRON I think you'll like it. Its cool to be playing a game in the From world. The new movie's plot and setting begged for an accompanying video game and I believe it delivers a good product.

great depth and stunning graphics. Its a very fun game, lots of ways to control your character. Sometimes the controls for an area are more difficult than needed - but its still fun.

I was really enjoying this games graphics, difficulty, and overall story line until a glitch in the story mode made it impossible to continue. If an update happens this game will be awesome

Great graphics and story line, but made more for a talented player with some of the camera views and trying to jump and land in certain areas!

Bought it to try out my new Move controllers. The Move controllers were only used in parts of the game. Not exciting.

Awkward camera angles in campaign can make it difficult to navigate on and off the walls during "wall walking"
