I’ve been using the Troubadour Apex Laptop Backpack 4.0 in Basalt for work and travel and it’s been fantastic. It looks clean and professional, but the real win is how practical it is. The laptop sleeve is well-protected and easy to access, and the internal layout makes it simple to keep chargers, notebooks, and smaller items organized without digging around. The fabric feels durable and holds up well in rain, and the zippers and stitching feel very solid. It’s also comfortable to wear all day thanks to the padded straps and breathable back panel. Little touches like the luggage sleeve, lockable zippers, and quick-access pockets make it a really thoughtful everyday backpack.

I’ve been using this backpack daily and honestly love it. It feels really well thought out and high quality in ways you notice pretty quickly. The padded laptop sleeve easily fits my 14” MacBook Pro and my 11” iPad Pro with room left over, which was a big deal for me. There’s also a ton of internal organization without feeling overdone—everything has a place and it’s easy to stay organized throughout the day. The water bottle pocket is better than expected. It fits a full-size bottle without making the bag feel bulky or uncomfortable. The straps are very comfortable even when the bag is fully loaded, and the material feels premium. The weatherproofing is a nice bonus and definitely gives peace of mind. One feature I didn’t expect to care about as much as I do is the quick-access pocket with the key hook. It’s surprisingly useful and keeps me from constantly digging around for my keys. Overall, this backpack feels durable, practical, and worth the price. I’d definitely recommend it if you want something sleek that works well for everyday use.

I really fell in love with this backpack. Professional and stylish look, super high-quality, comfortable to wear, and exceptional functionality, perfect for my Macbook. I bought it primarily for commuting on the train to work everyday, and was surprised to find out that it was also the perfect backpack for flying too when I had a five hour flight last week. Compact, but fits a lot if you need it to. I strongly recommend it for anyone looking for a high quality commuter backpack.

Perfect size, very comfortable, obsessed with the laptop pocket and color! It also holds its shape very well. I got this as a commuter bag and it has been perfect! I have been using every day for the past few months and it still looks brand new and I get so many compliments on it. So comfortable even for long bikerides.

I bought the Troubadour backpack to replace the one I use for work, and so far, it’s been great! I always carry a lot, including multiple laptops, so the separate compartments are so convenient. It’s surprisingly comfortable to wear, even when full. It’s sleek with mostly internal pockets and the fabric seems durable. I especially love that it’s waterproof and that the zippers don’t catch like my last backpack.

I've had the Apex for a couple of weeks now. I took it on two business trips and I really like it. I wanted a backpack with a minimalist look and needed something lightweight that is compatible with my carry-on. This meets my requirements. Lots of compliments, too.

The built-in organization is what really separates this bag from the competition. The main compartments' layout is ideal for those who believe there is a place for everything and everything has its place. Everything about the bag is well thought out, from the way the zipper covers shield the media compartment to the soft lining for the laptop area. Personally, I use the top zipper section for my wallet and airpods and the lower zippered section for my notepad and pens. The tri-pocket section fits a 20,000mAh battery pack, iPhone 16 Pro, and extra camera batteries. The internal front mesh pocket has become my wire/charging brick dump so I always have a way to recharge my phone, computer, and camera. The remaining space perfectly fits an Olympus OM D E-1 Mii with a 12-48mm lens, a rain coat, and my water bottle. Slip a MacBook Pro into the suspended laptop compartment, and you have the perfect day bag for everything from academia to street photography. Historically, I have used a GoRuck GR1 26L and a PGNY Tech 25L Backpack to travel and work, but I will be switching to the Apex 4.0 until further notice. The combination of built-in storage, durable materials, and slick aesthetic makes this my new go-to bag for work and play.
