Turquoise and Crimson are two sets of ten songs by Jon Crosby (lead vocalist & writer) who had begun recording in 2001 and completed by 2003. Originally the songs were available solely online in mp3 format for $2.99. The music style is dominantly alternative/progressive rock. As you listen to the album, you can feel the influence Crosby had from the southwest, like how the desert is still and seemingly desolate, his songs are as deep and still, relaxing yet powerful. The acoustic guitar is the foremost instrument used, besides Crosby's pipes. In various songs, you can also hear the violin, piano, with some synthesizer. A few lyrical themes are love lost and one's feeling of desolation. "Lost" (Track 3 of Crimson) seems to be the direct representation if the album's cover, the long endless road. Feeling lost, losing innocence, the way life once was, or losing love. All in all, there is the heavy metal, the fast techno, but this album is what brings you down from that stuff, slows your heartbeat, and relaxes you.
