Comfortable and light-weight great sounding cans with a good mic for gaming. Being wired means you don't need to worry about batteries and just start gaming. Also being wired there is no chance for lag between the audio and video which can be very noticable if you are watching movies.
These are comfortable to wear even with glasses which is great, and they are breathable for the ears which is important to me for longer days gaming. I found the sound and microphone and both had great sound, or great enough for me for gaming and watching movies. The Microphone is the standard flip to mute which is handy as you can keep it out of your way when not using.
The controls are placed logically as well and very easy to use.
Overall these are light-weight with comfortable foam headphones, that fit great over glasses. The sound is very clear that fills the headphones allowing you to enjoy movies and gaming.
The only potential downside is the cord is 4 feet long which depending on where you are plugging in might not be long enough so keep that in mind, but for me that isn't a huge issue with my setup, but something to keep in mind, but they are comfortable and and sound great and I'm very happy with them.

Like the title says, these are the best headphones that I have used that is in this price range. That said, I want to start out with a few of the cons and then I will talk about the pros.
First with the cons. The cable is not a bad length if you use these with a controller for a console, but if you are using these with a PC, I would have liked to see a longer cord, one at least 6ft or maybe even have provided an extension for those who would like to use with a PC. These are just under 4ft long. The cable is also non detachable along with the mic also being non detachable. This could have opened up a few options if they allowed a couple cord types to be use. Again, especially with PC.
These only have a volume button, but that button does not have clicks. I would like to have the volume wheel have clicks for it.
The mic boom does not go down as far as some others, so you can see it in your vision.
Lastly is that the earcups themselves do not adjust. you adjust via the head band, but I like to also be able to adjust the earcups.
One that is not too bad for me, but some may prefer, no mute button for the mic. I personally do not care about this as you push the mic up to mute. But if you do like the button over pushing the mic up, then this does not have that.
But now for the pros. These are pretty light being wired. They are very comfortable, even if you wear glasses. I was able to wear these for hours. I do not use glasses all the time, but I did wear them with these and was surprised how comfortable they were being that they do not have an indent in them for glasses.
The cups go over the ears pretty good. So good that they almost sound like they are noise cancelling. With sound going thru them, it was very hard for me to hear surrounding noises. (Could be bad if you do not like that).
Mic sounds pretty good as well and especially for this price range.
Sound wise, these were pretty good. I mainly got these for my laptop just because it has limited USB ports and so I can use these to plug into the headset port and use the USB ports for other things.
These are 3.5mm for the plug, so you can use these with pretty much any device, console you want that you can plug into.
If you do not mind a wired headset, I definitely recommend these. Great headset at the price these are.

Surprisingly rich sound for a bargain

The Turtle Beach Atlas 200 is a surprisingly strong performer given its price and entry-level functionality. The audio is very good—rich enough to provide a genuinely immersive experience while gaming.
The build relies mostly on plastic, which is to be expected, but the fit is guaranteed by some thoughtful design pieces. Overall the design does a lot to make the headset look & feel more like its premium cousins than other options you might get at this price. It's lightweight enough for long gaming stretches, though the generous padding on the earcups can make things a little warm during extended sessions.
On the feature front, this headset is minimalist: it lacks noise canceling or any robust EQ customization. However, the sound quality is good enough that you might not miss those extras. The microphone quality is also very clear and loud for in-game chat. I particularly appreciate the microphone's design; when I fold it up, I don't notice it at all.
There are a few minor limitations in use. The wired cord isn't very long, which can restrict movement depending on your setup (no problem for consoles but I had to get creative for my PC). And while the padding is comfortable, the heat build-up is something to be aware of.
Overall, this headset is a great value. If you need a solid, cross-platform audio experience and don't require the bells and whistles of high-end features, the Atlas 200 holds its own.

The Turtle Beach Atlas 200 is an excellent, comfortable multiplatform headset at a very budget friendly price. I know most people seem to prefer wireless headsets now, but with both Xbox and PS5 having a headset jack right on the controller, it seems kind of silly to me to have to use a proprietary wireless headset for either console. With the Atlas 200, I was able to easily connect to my controller on either my Xbox Series X or PS5 and use this headset without any issues.
I think Turtle Beach are the winners for comfort for gaming headsets these days, at least for people who wear glasses. While I've used a few headsets from other brands that are as good or better, Turtle Beach is the only brand that has consistently produced headsets that are comfortable without putting a foot wrong. The build in general for the Atlas 200 is very nice. Despite being an inexpensive headset it feels well made and I would have no problem handing it to my kids to use on a daily basis. The cord is relatively short, however. For my primary purpose (gaming while connected to a controller) the short cord is a benefit more than a hindrance, but for PC gaming the cord may be too short for many people to use without some consideration for the placement of their PC at their desk.
Sound wise, the Atlas 200 sounds great and seems to be able to handle the amount of power given it by the controllers just fine. This is a closed back headset, and has the boomy bass you'd expect from one. Since it's a 3.5mm wired headset, it doesn't have the bells and whistles of higher-end and wireless headsets, like built-in spatial sound or footstep enhancement. I personally don't care for those features on most headsets, so it's no great loss to me -the 3D audio feature on the PS5 or DTS-X/Atmos on the Xbox work fine for simulated surround IMO.
In short this is a great headset whether you're shopping on a budget or you just want a convenient, comfortable, good-sounding headset primarily for console that will also work fine with your PC.

Great Basic Wired Headset

The Turtle Beach Atlas 200 Wired Multiplatform Over-Ear Gaming Headset is a budget friendly-wired headset that is well built and offers all of the necessary basics. Compatibility with any hardware with a 3.5mm jack makes it universal and it worked with my wireless Xbox S controller, my laptop, and my Nintendo Switch Lite. It didn’t require the downloading of any software to use it and I was able to plug it in straight out of the box. It’s lightweight and comfortable to use for extended periods with an adjustable mesh floating headband, and thick, breathable, memory foam ear cushions that Turtle Beach refers to as “glasses friendly”. I can attest that even after several hours my eyeglasses were not cutting into my ears and my ears were not sweaty. While this headset is not sound isolating the audio is very clear, especially on stealth-type games that require intent listening and my friends say the flip-to-mute microphone is very clear as well. The fact that this unit is corded does limit your movement while gaming but in return you don’t have to charge it or provide batteries in order for it to work. I appreciate that this headset remains very classic in appearance (as most Turtle Beach Products are) since some of the ones on the market tend to be very flashy/a bit garish in my opinion. I would definitely recommend this headset and will be gifting it myself this Christmas.

Pretty good entry level wired headset

Like the title says, this is a pretty good entry level wired headset. The fit and finish are excellent and the pads are comfortable. They are a memory foam style with a cloth fabric that does not seem to get warm. The cups fit nicely around the ears and very little external noise comes through. The headset fits nicely but if you have a larger head, this might be a little tight as the cups do not adjust up and down, only the stretch band moves/expands. The sound is nice and full and I had no problems picking up footsteps and other noises in the direction they were coming from. The flip mic is also very nice with three positions. Talk Mute and off. I had a little trouble, again, getting the XBOX Series X to recognize the mic on this unit but I was able to finally figure it out on chat settings. It seems like the universal headsets are geared more for PC and it takes tweaking the XBOX and game settings to make it work. I took off one star as I prefer a headset that says its made for XBOX to actually work right out of the box. But, once it was tweaked I had zero issues and everything worked as it should.

An Impressive Wired Gaming Headset

The Turtle Beach - Atlas 200 Wired Multiplatform Headset is a strong offering for its price-point. You can easily pay 3 to 5 times more for ‘pro’ level wireless gaming headphones boasting a number of impressive features. However, for a solid set of wired headphones to enhance your regular gaming experience, the Atlas 200 is a great choice.
The quality and spatial awareness of the sound is excellent. The microphone flip-up-for-off | flip-down-for-on is a feature I’ve always appreciated. The cushions are nice and comfortable for wearing during long gaming sessions. And the fit is so good it goes a long ways towards excluding external sounds - a nice balance for not having the automatic noise reduction offered in some of the much-more-expensive gaming headsets.
For a set of gaming headphones in this price-category, the only thing missing for me is this: I wish the design included something to facilitate being able to wrap up and secure the attached audio cord. I like to wrap up the cord and set the headset aside when finished, but there’s no clear solution for this with the Atlas 200. That may seem like a minor thing, but it would make this headset perfect for its price-point. Because of this, I would actually rate it a 4.8. But, since I don’t have that option, I give it 5 stars because it really is an impressive wired gaming headset.

This headphone set is comfortable, the ear pieces produce a really snug fit that almost drowns out outside noise, and the microphone captures voice with good sound reproduction and excellent clarity, but there's one aspect of these headphones that's kind of a deal breaker - they have a low maximum volume. This is a shame, too, since the build quality is nice and you won't have to worry about these headphones slipping off. But everything that comes through the ear pieces is so quiet... there is some kind of cap or limit on volume built in that's aggressively low, and this really negatively impacts the experience you'll have with this headset. The relatively low volume also makes it hard to distinguish low bass or high treble sounds, to the point where I can't really comment on the headset's ability to reproduce sounds in these ranges, because I couldn't hear them very well. The midrange is reproduced with good quality and accuracy, but the high end and bass simply feel like they're missing. If it weren't for this issue, this headset would be an excellent set and easy recommendation. The build quality is nice, band you get a durable (arguably bulky) headset for a reasonable price with these headphones. The mic works well, too, and includes the excellent "flip to mute" feature which more headsets should. But you might have a little bit of trouble hearing everything that's going on in either the game mix or the sound mastering of a movie or Tab show you may be watching. The headset also is limited to a stereo plug connection, so if you want or need a wireless connection you'll have to look elsewhere.
In short, these headphones look great and they're comfortable, but they struggle with great sound reproduction because of some strange limitation on volume built into the hardware.

Straightforward wired gaming headset, sounds great

These sound great and is a straightforward, no frills, wired gaming headset. About as simple to use as they come. Only two controls. A volume wheel, and a microphone arm. Done for mic on, up for mic off. That's it, no buttons to find, no wireless settings, multiple devices, dongles to keep track of, none of that. Just plug into the quaint headset jack on your gaming controller or gaming laptop and off you go. The sound is really good, and on Xbox Series X, was able to use the consoles mixer to get the game sound / voice chat /self mic sound where I wanted it. I also used it on a Windows 11 gaming laptop and had no trouble using the mic for group chat. Others reported that I was reading loud and clear.
The construction is solid; they are very lightweight. They do have memory foam cushions that are pretty comfortable, but the fit is a bit tight and not adjustable. I have a fairly average head size, but oversized ears that stick out from the head a bit and I could only wear these for about an hour and fifteen minutes before my ears were getting sore enough to take them off. So, they will not go over big ears. As for the headband sizing, it's kind of auto-sizing with a floating headband type. There is a little bit of adjustment if you unhook the Velcro and move it, but it's a tiny amount that you can move it and reattach, not really worth messing with it really.
I would recommend these for gaming sessions, beware those with large ears that stick out, but we are a hard bunch to make headphones for.

Perfect except for the pop filter

This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.
This headset is light and comfortable for extended wear. I love having a wired connection, but the cord is fairly thin so I worry about it holding up long-term. The audio is crisp and captures your voice crystal clear. The pop filter is worthless though. I ended up using a pop filter from another headset to cut down on the plosives.
I can't say enough good stuff about how lightweight and comfortable this headset is compared to my wireless Corsair and Surface headphones. The ear cups don’t create pressure points, and I can wear glasses with them without discomfort, which is a big win. The adjustable headband also sits nicely without that heavy vice grip feel some gaming headsets have.
The trade-off is build quality. The frame is mostly plastic, and the mic arm feels like it needs to be handled gently. It’s not a premium-feeling headset, but it is comfortable and functional.
For the price, it hits the important marks: clear voice audio, decent soundstage for gaming, ultra-comfortable for long sessions, and cross-platform compatibility without the setup hassle. Just be prepared to baby the cable and, if you’re picky about mic quality, invest in a better pop filter.
Overall this is a great everyday gaming headset if comfort is your top priority and you're okay with slightly lighter build quality. Would definitely recommend for long play sessions or anyone who typically gets ear fatigue from heavier headsets.

Great headphones. Clear and Immersive.

The Turtle Beach Atlas 200 are my first pair of wired headphones. My son's and my gaming noise was starting to disturb the girls. Our place is 1,350, so unless in another room with the door closed, we're pretty much near each other. Disturbing homework homework was becoming commplace. So instead of the back and forth about volume, the simple solutions was a headphone. I'd resisted getting a wired set slightly, but my gamer nephew swears by wires for lack of latency.
Very impressed. For any headphones, comfort is key. These completely cover my ears, so there's no pressure on them. They fit well and as I wore them, they seemed to just disappear. That's exactly how good headphones should feel. Next would be sound, and the sound is great. It's very immersive. I feel like I'm completely in the game. Voices came through clearly and I made sure to ask how I sounded since these are new for me, and everyone said that my voice came through clearly. I experienced nothing but clear sounds and voices. I'd say that these headphones improved my gaming experience.
On top of all those things, the feel like quality headphones. The don't feel light and cheaply made, but as I mentioned, they disappeared as I played and I didn't feel weighted by them. I would recommend these Turtle Beach - Atlas 200 to anyone.

These are a pretty standard set of wired headphones. I took it out of the box and connected to the Aux on my Xbox controller. The audio was immediately connected.
Game Play,
I found the sound really good and the sounds during game play very spatial. If someone was walking behind me, it sounded and felt like it. They were very precise and immersive. I found the sound just ok as far as loudness. I turned them all the way up and they were just ok. I did find a few times the sound cut out but I just assumed that is from the connection through the controller. When talking via chat I found the others heard me well and they could not hear when my dog barked. The cord was plenty long as it did not feel like I was tied to my controller. I actually like the wired because it is one less thing to worry about being charged. The flip up to mute was user friendly and I like that there was not a big puffy foam end on the microphone. Just the standard slime profile. I also like the headband since it is made of an adjustable mesh fabric which is nice since it gives my head room to breathe vs the fully padded headsets.
The only Cons are I wish it came in other colors and had a better integration for PC. I used it for PC but it did not sound nearly as good.

Great sound and comfort for corded headset

These are some of my favorite corded over the ear headsets I have used. I really enjoy the 3d audio as you can really hear everything when playing a game. I personally didn’t experience any issues with the audio connection to either my laptop or my gaming console. I used it fo gaming, movies and online meetings and these worked out really well. I usually do not prefer over the ear due to ear fatigue and your ears getting sweaty when it’s warm out. But these are so comfortable and you don’t get ear fatigue unless you are wearing them for over 8 hours. I watched a couple of action movies and was pleasantly surprised by the sound through them. I really liked the boom mic that if you want to mute instead of pressing a small button on the cord you just flip the mic up. No fumbling or forgetting to mute or unmute yourself. These headsets are comfortable and fit great and are very lightweight. I used to buy cordless but then your batteries need to be charged or sometimes the sound is delayed. I will definitely purchase more of these in the future.

Another great headset from turtle beach

Not surprised but this was another great turtle beach product. We have several now, a wireless is mainly used for gaming on a pc and a wired we use with the Xbox. It was time to upgrade the wired headset and this was a solid pick. It has a nice sturdy build and feels like it will last awhile. Doesn’t feel flimsy at all so I’m not worried about the kids using it and potentially breaking it. Sound quality is great. Tested it out with a few different games and had no issue hearing music or game play. Volume can go quite loud if you’d like but even at lower volume it was very clear. I like the headband type fit for this headset and found it comfortable to wear with glasses which isn’t always easy to find. The mic was clear and others on the squad had no complaints with how I sounded. The cord is a nice length and thick enough it should hold up to repeated use. Plug and play style is nice when you share with kids so I appreciated that aspect. My only mild complaint is I wish it came in more color options but that’s a preference more than anything.

TL;DR - The Turtle Beach Atlas 200 wired headphones are a little expensive for what they are. For the price, I'd expect better overall audio quality and build quality. The mic is okay, the drivers cover the full spectrum of audio we can hear but focus too much on highs and lows, and for those of us with large heads, they're not very comfortable.
Unboxing and first impressions:
They're packaged well, with molded cardboard instead of foam inserts. I'm great with this as it means packaging is safer for the environment. The headphones themselves look good, with soft foam earcups that give a true over-ear experience, a mesh insert under the headband, and black matte plastic that doesn't feel cheap. However, considering the price, the earcups to being able to rotate and the adjustable portion of the headband being limited to how adjustable it is took away from the positives. I'm not a fan of fixed cables or mics as well, but considering these are entry-level headphones and probably aimed at tweens and teens for the market demographic, I understand why this is the case.
Usage:
These are plug-and-play simple. Does your device have a 3.5mm headphone jack? Plug in and go. Using it with a phone or another device that requires a dongle for the headphone connection? It works great with those adapters. No software to install, no batteries to charge.
The head strap uses hook-and-loop to adjust the spacing for your head. However, it's not meant for people like me who have large heads, so if you have a large head, this will probably be uncomfortable. The ear cups are quite nice though - soft foam padding seals out most sounds and they are true over-ear for the fit.
The audio quality is okay-ish. I prefer gaming headphones that have more of a focus on midrange than lows. I do appreciate the highs for in-game, as it makes it easier to "hear" where enemies and squadmates are. When using DTS:X and Dolby Atmos, audio headphone is pretty terrific as the headphone drivers aren't directly on or in your ears, giving spacial audio a chance to work properly.
Keep in mind that audio quality of these headphones will directly correlate to the audio output quality of whatever you attach them to. I used several computers and other devices to test these out. The best experiences were with an Apple iPad (9th gen), my laptop (Gigabyte Aero X16), and a desktop stereo system (Panasonic bookshelf stereo system). Inline USB-C to headphone adapters were adequate but didn't get as loud.
The biggest drawback here, however, is the price. For what this cost, I'd expect rotating earcups and better adjustability, especially with these being wired. If they were half or two-thirds the price, I'd give them another star, but you can get similar gaming headphones with similar sound quality for less money. (If you can catch them on sale for 1/3 off or more, they'd be a better value.)
Still, all in all, the Atlas 200 gaming headphones aren't bad. I'd just like to see the fitment and quality of life issues addressed in the successor model, especially at this price.

The Turtle Beach Atlas 200 Wired Gaming Headphones is a pretty basic, classic wired headset.
The build quality is solid, a mix of materials and generous soft padding with memory foam ear cushions. At only 0.62 lbs they do not feel heavy but depending on your head size, the headband may clamp a bit tight, therefore not super comfortable for prolonged periods of time. I do wear a large size helmet for my real-life car racing hobbies, so I start feeling the squeeze from these headphones after a couple of hours of gaming. I recently had to start wearing reading glasses and they fit just fine with the Atlas 200, so that’s a plus.
I really like the classic flip-up microphone to mute or just get it out of the way when you’re only listening to the in-game sound or music and not chatting in multi-player games. One of the greatest features of these headphones is the true multi-platform compatibility with all major game consoles such as Xbox, PlayStation and PCs.
The sound quality is about average but I find the volume is not loud enough out of the 50mm drivers that cover a wide frequency range. I have them plugged into a monitor that gets its sound from a Windows 11 PC over an HDMI cable. I’ve been told my voice comes across clearly on the other end, just a bit more pronounced on the high frequencies. These are still more of a budget headphone that does not compare with others costing twice as much.

This wired headset includes the headset a quick start guide and usb adapter out of the box. The headset is plug and play with no setup required. The connection is 3.5 mm and usb type A.
The sound quality is perfectly acceptable for most practical use, high speed online gaming included. They're comfortable and extremely adjustable. The shape of the earcups totally surrounds the ear and provides great muffling of outside noises almost on par with noise cancelling. The mic is good enough quality to be easily heard and understood, and the filter on the adjustable mic provides some of the function of a full pop shield while being infinitely more portable. The built in volume scroll wheel is very sensitive and precise. My only complaint is that the auxiliary cable is connected via the left ear, the opposite side of the jack on my computer, and cannot be switched.
Overall I’d recommend this headset. It has good sound quality for a good price. It’s good for gaming and general use. They are comfortable and do not fit too tight.

Good, basic headphones for everyday use

These are pretty good headphones if you just need something basic without too many fancy features, as well as something comfortable.
The sound quality is good, and the headphones will block out enough outside noise unless you're in an extremely loud environment. There's also no set-up involved for the headset itself, though depending on what device you are using, you may have to set up options on the device's side. Also, as far as I can tell, these should be compatible with just about anything that has a standard headphone jack.
I'm a bit concerned about the microphone's function being activated by moving it down, as I feel this could cause it to wear down over time, but this will depend on how much you use it to talk.
The other minor nitpick I have is the location of the volume control, which is on the back of the left headphone. It can be a bit difficult to feel for, and doesn't feel as intuitive as having one placed on the cord.
Overall, this is a good starter if you just need something to listen to music or voice-chat with privacy.
