I bought these after hearing many good things about the Turtle Beach brand of products over the last several years. I enjoyed their compatibility with multiple gaming systems & they came with an extension which made the short cable length usable instead of a hindrance. The sound quality is very good, the mic worked well & my gaming buddies could hear me clearly, without too much background noise, even with the boom for the mic in the up (above the head) position. Where my experience soured though was with the mic itself. The mute/active selection for the mic is on a control switch built into the cord, and produced a disturbing amount of feedback (static popping) for my gaming listeners when it was switched on or off. The volume control wheel is also on the same control switch and it frequently got turned down or accidentally adjusted when the cord moved against my clothes or I would reach to mute or activate the mic. This would cause me to have to adjust the volume settings from the wheel multiple time each session. That wheel also didn't hold up the the frequent adjustment & I found that the fully on position stopped working soon after purchase. I would have to turn the wheel to a position not quite fully on to get max volume, and any bump of the cord would move it. Lastly, the mic just completely stopped working altogether on the unit, no matter what setting or position it was used in. The mute selection switch causes the typical feedback pop when activated but the condenser mic in the boom doesn't pick up any voice at all. I had the headphones for well over a year before they lost their gaming functionality, so no warranty or replacement is available to repair or replace them. Conclusion: The price was great, the sound quality is great, they are very comfortable to wear and the speaker earpieces are of good design & quality BUT the durability is severely lacking for the main control component on the cable, and microphone, negating their use as a gaming device.

My kids have had a bad tendency of braking headsets for their PC, so as I started looking for yet another headset I had two main concerns: Price Performance I've spent countless hundreds of dollars and head phones and headsets from Best Buy, and this is the lowest priced item to date. Being as such, I didn't have huge expectations for the sound. I listened to the same song I've used to review other headsets here, being the Intro for Tron: Legacy by Daft Punk. It's a good piece with lots of high and low frequencies that can be hidden by bad speakers. I'm glad to say the highs weren't completely washed out, but the lows were over pronounced and the mids/highs suffered for the lows. The feel of the headset is what you would expect in the price range: very plastic, very light. However, these turned out to be very good for long term gaming sessions as you can forget that the headset is even on if it weren't for the sound immediately in your ears. We all wear glasses in the family, and everyone from my 11yo son to myself (smallest to largest heads) can wear these comfortably for hours on end. I feel for the price, the comfort is outweighing the sound performance and I'm fine with that. So recap: too much low, not enough high, very comfy, lightweight and very plastic.

Great Headset for the Money (PC, Xbox One, PS4)

I needed a headset for my son to use mainly on Xbox One for gaming purposes, but we have been through all of the Xbox One branded headset options and didn't have the money to buy the more expensive headsets (that may or may not have even worked in the end based on our experience). I researched endlessly online at home on the computer and extensively from my phone while in-store to find out all the specs I could to help me decide whether this product may or may not work for our purpose. In the end I still wasn't sure if it would, but it was my best effort and I just hoped that it would work out. We already had the Xbox One adapter due to our previous efforts, which made using this headset pliable. At first, my son had some issues getting it to work (not sure why), but then the next day it just starting working correctly and has been working perfectly for just about a month now. We must have done something wrong that first day, because we haven't had any problems since. I'm sure there are better headsets out there (for a hefty price), but this one has been great and much more affordable. It's labeled for PC gaming, but I assure you that he's using it for PC, Xbox One (mainly) and PS4. I have been thrilled to finally find something that works AND it works for all of our devices!

I bought these to replace the tiny steel series headset I got, didn't look back. These are a great set for beginners. The mic stem is super long and is completely flexible so I can bend it down so it's outside of me peripheral vision, has good sensitivity so it doesn't have to be close to my mouth. It's mostly plastic construction so if you don't baby them I feel something on them will break, the weakest point on this I would say are the swivel points where the cans connect to the headband. The ear cushions are stiff and rigid, but the texture allows them to breathe so you don't sweat, but I find myself taking them off for a few moments every now and then for relief. I have medium-large sized ears and when the headband is properly adjusted my ears don't touch anything which I like a lot. The headband has a soft cushion and gives me no discomfort. The sound quality is decent, lacks a little bit of low end, the simulated surround sound is really neat.

Bad product, not so great customer service

I purchased this product on New Years Eve for $26.49. It worked at first and I discarded the packaging right away. After about a day the left ear speaker stopped working. I tried unplugging and plugging it in. I tried it with and without the adapter. I found that if I wiggled the volume control I could get it to work for a few minutes at a time. Finally, after 2 weeks I had enough and contacted Turtle Beach via email to find out what to do. The customer support person was professional and friendly enough in the email. But the process has left me with a bad taste in my mouth for this company. After a number of emails and 5 days I finally was authorized to return the product for repair/replacement. So today I packaged it up and shipped it off. According to the email I should have my replacement in 10 to 14 days from the day they receive it. So in total I will have been without the product for 3 to 4 weeks from the time I first reported it as defective and another $5.70 for shipping.

    Okay headphones for the computer

This headset is pretty standard for the price. The only big difference between this one and the other brand I had been using is that this one had a main jack that could be for both the headphones and the microphone and a part that it attached to if you needed separate jacks for the headphones and microphone. A small difference, but one that I appreciate, is the comfort of the headphones which fit all around my ears. They still started to lose sound in one of the headphones around the time as the previous ones that I had bought, so not the improvement there that I was hoping for when I switched brands.

These are fine. They are louder and clearer than some I have tested. Turtle Beach is a good company for Audiophiles. I find this still true for the gaming end of the sound/music industry. Check the spec: SNR is not the only thing to note, but the loudness and clarity sold me along with the name. I would think you would want something that is clear, and has decent level and little or very low noise. No hiss and Comfortable. Take care of them and there are really no negatives. (I put my stuff away after using them). If you treat anything with reckless abandon, is it the items fault that it fails?

All items in the store have a purpose, one is better than the other depending of which terms are we talking about; of cost, durability, external options, etc. This one, for example, is an all-around one: For the price I bought this, It supports good microphone and a nice pair of speakers covered with a very comfortable pair of cushions. Also, the jack output, it already offers you a cable converter; from audio output and mic to two individual cables. You can remove it easily so you can use the headset on an music player,

Haven't really had the Ear Force Z11 long enough to give a thorough review, but I bought these through a Daily Deal that made them a great value, especially over their more expensive upscale version, X12. Very serviceable for our needs at work. We don't need the extensive features of the X12, which we had previously purchased through a Daily Deal. Gamers and those needing the fine-tuning and a higher-end mike, may prefer the X12, but for good quality listening, speaking, and recording, the Z11 headphones are a good value.

The headset is comfortable with the over the ear fit providing some level of outside noise reduction. The only thing I do not like about the headset is the volume and mic controls are located on the cord with a cheap clip for the collar of the shirt. This makes it feel slightly awkward, but if left dangling it is something I can deal with. It is nice having the volume and mic controls on the headset, but should be located on the ear pads like some other turtle beach headsets in my opinion.

This is the 2nd Turtle Beach Gaming Headset that I have purchased for my son. He loves them - the ear cushions are large and comfortable and the microphone works great. The only reason I had to buy another set was the wire came loose due to the amount of usage. So I purchased the 2 year replacement plan and will use it for another one when he loosens the wire on this one. The price is very reasonable when you compare it to others and it has lasted longer than other brands.

I was worried about these headphones since I didn't want to spend a ridiculous amount just for Team Speak. Now they're my go to music/movies/and Team Speak headphones. Great noise cancellation, they don't hurt my head and they're pretty comfortable on my ears (which is a big problem for me with over the head headphones). Only thing is they definitely can be heard outside the headphones so if you don't want anyone to hear your music or audio keep it low.

Sound quality is great. Voice for in-game chat is very strong. Only problem is the connector cable has a 2nd connector to use both headset and mic that plugs into the computer. The connector will sometimes cause the headset to lose the ability to speak into the mic. To fix, you have to mute/unmute from the headset toggle switch and push the connector cables together and rotate to make the sound return. Otherwise, great headset.

Overall not a terrible headset. I was trying to stay sub $50 and I know you mostly get what you pay for. That being said this was a Turtle Beach and I've never heard an ill word spoken of their products. The sound is great, and I've been told the microphone quality is good but where I rate the headset down is how uncomfortable it is. I'd try Turtle Beach again but I'd go up in price just to see if the comfort got any better.

I use my headset for gaming. This is by far the best headset I have owned. I always purchased the cheaper headsets only to have them not last more than 3 months. The mic would go out or the headphones would break. I got these on sale and was a little nervous since they are a little bigger than what I am used to. Great Product & couldn't be more pleased. My gaming friends say they can hear me much better.

I bought 2 sets of these. One for my wife and one for myself. these are great for our mmropg game we have played for almost 15 years. My wife's only complaint is she is always bumping the volume control on her desk and turning it down. She loves the fact that she has no problem being able to hear out of them even with her hearing loss. Great headsets for the money

I have used this with my phone, with my computer, with my tablet; I'd bet it make a good receive for my dishwasher if it had a 3.5 barrel outlet. The quality is so impressive that more people cannot even tell that I'm on a headset. I would go with the 5 foot cable and excellent quality over the bluetooth variant every single time.

I bought these for my husband's birthday to replace his old ones. Out of the box they didn't work right. Only one side or the other worked. Playing with the volume just changed which ear worked. You could hear yourself talk through the headset even with the mic up and no voice program open. Now to see if I can return them since I bought them the beginning of January and he just had his birthday :/

So I bought a pair 80 dollar headphones and they were super disappointing. Returned those ones and picked these up for half the price and they sound great. Hopefully they last. I use these for gaming and music mostly. They fit great as well. Definitely recommend them to anyone not wanting to spend too much on headphones.

The headset works well with every system that supports it. Not just for PC as it says on the packaging. It works with Xbox One, PS4, Wii U, and PS vita. The ear muffs aren't the best, but they do the job in providing good sound quality. I would recommend this headset especially for PS4 users as the headset has it's own volume control and mute switch.
