PS4 Wired Headset of the Year!

On the PS4 this headset is simply amazing! I don't use it on PC so I cannot speak for that type of usage. The 7.1 works great in games like Division 2 and COD Black Ops 4, and the amp definitely does it job. This headset is also very light and comfortable, much lighter than most wireless headsets.

Turtle Beach has always ruled the roost when it comes to gaming headsets and these are no exception. They plug directly into the gaming console of the controller and have great sound and are comfortable to wear and put your right in all of the action with immersive bass and serious audio feedback. I felt like I was right in the game and the super amp added more powerful sound to every game I was playing! Highly recommended.

I wish I would have found this a few weeks ago as It had been recently gifted after I had already bought a HyperX headset. For starters and where it really matters. The sound quality has been excellent. I can hear things I didn't notice before and my friends seem to be able to hear me clearly as well. I honestly have messed with the super amp all that much but it does function well and add a little versatility to the headset. The microphone is detachable and the ear cups are super comfortable. I wear glasses and have had no issues. If you are a gamer, you can't go wrong with these especially if you can get them on sale.

Turtle Beach has been my go to headset for gaming for many years now, though this is my first set for PS4 Pro. I think this headset has many great features right off the bat, however, I think what stands out most for me is the comfort of the headset. It is larger in size but has great build quality and feels solid with the metal head band and some decent weight to it (not a negative though). Adjustment is also simplistic and easy to accommodate larger heads. I can wear this headset for a solid gaming session (4+ hours for me) without any real irritation or soreness around my ears. The ears cups are very soft yet rigid with memory foam and reduce ambient outside noise fairly well without any noise cancelling functionality. The microphone has good positioning while having a fair amount of flexibility to adjust to your desired position and my online friends have commented on the clearer sounding quality of my voice over the standard PS4 headset/earpiece. Sound quality is pretty stellar, as I would expect from Turtle Beach (and this price point) the DTS Headphone: X surround sound gives players and experience of gaming that really changes the dynamic of game play. I enjoy the pin point sounds that I can immediately recognize which direction they are coming from and adjust my position as needed in games. Good sounding bass and the tuning options through the app allow for some significant customization. The Super Amp and Bluetooth functionality are added bonuses, where the volume control is solely located on the Amp itself to allow for easy volume adjustment. The app allows you to alter EQ settings as you like and then save those profiles for quick switching without the hassle (big points from me). I do not typically stream music while playing but I know quite a few people who do and that feature is something I think is quite common nowadays, however, being able to control the levels of chat, game audio and music audio is not quite as common and the Elite Pro 2 with Super Amp sets itself apart in this department. On to my main concern/disappointment: CABLES! As most other reviewers have pointed out this headset requires a USB connection and optionally (for quality sound) an optical cable. Granted, both cables came with the purchase and are of sizeable length, it just doesn't work for me in my current gaming setup. I have to drag these across my office floor to my chair and the cables are a danger where my dogs might trip over them at some point so I'm worried about it. I have a pair of Elite Pro's for my Xbox One S that are wireless with 7.1 surround and they rock though they are nowhere near as comfortable as the Elite Pro 2 for PS4. All that being said, if you have a desk setup with your PS4 this headset will work great for you, if you have a living room/couch setup it might be difficult (but not impossible). Overall, I'm happy with the Elite Pro 2 and the options it gives me, I'm just a little miffed with the cables and need to figure out my options for my current gaming setup but I think in the end it is worth it.

Very nice wired headset for PS4

The Turtle Beach Elite Pro 2 + Super Amp for PS4 Pro and PS4 headset is a very nice wired sound experience for the PS4. They are comfortable to wear during long sessions and seem geared for FPS games that use team chat. To use the headset, you plug in the headset cable into the Super Amp Audio Controller (puck), and the puck plugs into the PS4 USB slot. The cord is quite lengthy so sitting far away from the PS4 isn't an issue. However, it does effectively tether the wireless controller. There are volume and mute controls on the puck, along with some LEDs. It can be a stretch to reach for the puck to adjust the volume mid-game; there are no cord controls or controls on the headset itself. The headset is simply a different setup than other popular wireless headsets. Most features are controlled through an app for your iPhone or Android phone. The app connects to the headset via a Bluetooth connection that was average in quality. The main features of the app include an audio equalizer and the ability to either boost or kill chat. The chat boost is especially useful in team FPS games with loud action that can drown out the voices of your team. The headset itself has a tension band underneath the bridge that takes the weight off of the head. The ear pads were comfortable over my ears and had the added bonus of a slot where the stem of my glasses could fit so that my glasses don't get squeezed against my upper cheek. I loved that feature. The sound quality was very nice. I used the setting for boosted bass and treble and I could hear small details clearly within games. There is a bit of an echo feel to the sound, but that may be a result of the feature that boosts the sounds of footsteps within the game. Once you setup how you like your sound via the app, I don't think that the echoes will be a big deal. Overall, this is a nice wired headset for the PS4. I had some small issues but the quality of the headset build, audio, and app makes this a contender for best wired audio on the PS4.

Turtle Beach's Elite Pro 2 headset offers so much in the way of functionality that there simply is not enough time to write about all this headset has to offer. From everything down to sound and voice controls all the way up to lighting and EQ set up, this headset is sure to please most gamers out there. For the purposes of this review i'll try to focus on some of the more important functions and please note this headset was tested on the PS4 platform. First off I want to talk about design and what you can expect to receive out of the box. This unit was packaged like a high end designer jewelry box almost. I felt almost like I should of been honored to receive this unit. Out of the box your going to receive the headset, boom mic, super amp, optical cable, micro usb cable and 3.5mm cable. Cable length is good, allowing you to sit well beyond the length of your gaming console. My only real complaint is the amount of cords needed to run this set up. If you game from a gaming monitor and desk then the cords really don't pose any issues in the form of it getting in your way. However I initially tested this on my ps4 while hooked up to my 47" t.v. I hated having the wires all sprawled out on the floor. It may not bother you but it bothered me because I like to keep my battle area clean. Moving on to design and comfort. These are hands down the most comfortable and thickest cushion headset I have ever owned or tested. The comfort level was definitely top tier and a really nice feature that Turtle Beach implemented that I am a fan of is the ability to adjust your ear cups for people that wear glasses. You can see from the uploaded picture that the ear cups are removable. Once removed on the back side of the ear cups there is a cloth tab that you can pull and set in to place for people that wear glasses. What this does is it creates an indentation in the headset which allows your glasses to sit perfectly in without creating pressure points. The reason I like this feature alot is because I chose to game on a 27" gaming monitor and end up sitting real close to the screen. I wear blue light filter glasses so the comfort level while wearing headsets usually drops. Oh and one other thing to note, the ear cups have a really nice cooling property to their design which means you never get hot or sweaty while wearing them. Now lets really get in to the main reason for buying this headset which is sound and voice chat quality along with its functionality controls. The first thing that really stood out to me was the super amp and its functions. The main function of the super amp is to serve as the main gate way for your audio controls and bluetooth functions. The super amp lights up around the unit as you turn the dial to indicate volume level. Lighting control can be adjusted through the free Turtle Beach app which allows you to chose if the lighting stays on, increases as in game volume increases or you can put it in stealth mode which turns off all the lights. The super amp also has an audio output for streaming purposes. Now do you need the super amp to use these headsets? Absolutely not. The headset acts as a normal headset via the 3.5 mm cable meaning you can plug this directly to your ps4 controller or you can hook it up to your phone and listen to music. Now with that being said one thing i'll say is there is a significant drop in audio quality and clarity if you chose to go this route. This headset truly shines while using the super amp. Lets talk about some of the things you can do through the app. You can chose and make your color design for the Turtle Beach logo when it lights up. You can design your own EQ pre sets for your gaming desire. Now this is a really nice and cool feature to have and i'll explain why. Let's say your playing a shooter like The Division and you want that heavy bass drop so you can feel every bullet and explosion in the game. Simply set up your EQ adjustments to get them where you want them then after you can save them and label them 'Shooter' or whatever you like. This is a nice feature to have as you can set, adjust and save different features in order to swap them out based on the game you are playing i.e. shooter, rpg, side scroller, etc. You can also adjust your game and chat ratio so you can chose to receive more chat audio than game audio or vice versa. There's alot you can do through the app so I just wanted to talk about a couple that stood out. Another key area that really got me was the ability to stream music directly in your headset off your phone and be able to control the sound balance of your music, in game sound and chat volume. This means when im in a party and we are grinding away for loot I can stream music to help pass the time all without taking away from the game sound or chat audio from team mates. I can control how much music, game volume and chat volume that I want to come in to make sure that they don't all come in at the same volume and drown each other out. Now if all you care about is in game sound quality then this headset will not leave you disappointed. With a 7.1 Dolby surround sound set up you are going to be able to hear sounds that you may have never heard before. I could hear metal creaking as construction equipment was swaying off in the distance. Not only was I able to pick up on the sound but I was able to even tell which direction it was coming from and roughly how far away it was all without having to look at a map. This headset does an awesome job at displacing sound quality that it makes immersion all that much more real. The bass drops are deep and clean but never too loud to take away from other sounds. Voice clarity is crisp and clean allowing me to hear perfectly all in game AI chat and audio chat with my team mates perfectly. Here's the bottom line. There are enough functions to please just about everybody out there. The sound quality is so crisp and clean that you are going to feel as if you are in the game. The Dolby surround sound means that you will have the upper hand as you will be able to hear enemies off in the distance and be able to tell just how far away they are before they even notice you. The chat controls are perfect allowing you to control your chat output to your teammates as well as the chat audio coming in to your headset. The app also provides an option to turn on a gateway for your mic blocking all outside noises from bleeding in to your group chat. All in all guys this is well worth the money in my opinion. The only complaint I have with this unit is the amount of cords it runs. But in retrospect this is a very small complaint with many more benefits. This is hands down my favorite and new go to headset for gaming and streaming. I find it hard to believe that this headset would disappoint anyone. Do yourself a favor and pick a head set up to see what its like to wear an elite head set.

Overall, this is a pretty good headset. It includes the PowerAMP which connects up to the PS4 and allows you to have the best experience with the PS4. If your intent is to use it primarily with the PS4 this headset won't disappoint. The comfort of this headset is amazing, the sound is great and other players have no trouble hearing you over the mic. It is easy to connect and use and provides controls for your audio nearby without having to find controls. You can plug it into other devices like a Switch or your phone to use it for games there but because it's not paired up with the Power AMP it wasn't quite the same in terms of audio quality/loudness so I definitely wouldn't get this hoping to have the same experience without it. Even though it's clear this headset is intended only to work on the PC/PS4 with the Power AMP it's still disappointing to see it not be universal between Xbox and the PS4 as many gamers like me have both and Xbox and PS4 so this just ends up being more clutter in those scenarios. The upside is that to get it to work on the Xbox you'd only need to get the Power AMP and not the whole headset again. For this, I'd challenge Turtle Beach to come up with a universal system (even it used a manual switch to change compatibility modes). For it as it's marketed, I'd give it 5 stars but as a standalone headset I'd give it 4 where without the AMP it didn't sound a ton different than other gaming headsets I have. Overall, I'd recommend it for it's comfort, quality and sound when paired up with the AMP but wouldn't recommend if you intend on using it with other devices outside of a PC as there might be another option even from Turtle Beach that would work better.

If you are a serious gamer or just love to have top of the line equipment for your gaming, you need to look into getting these Turtle Beach Elite Pro 2. I enjoy gaming, but my son is a fanatic, so we both provided feedback for this item. To begin with the packing is really nice, it lets you know that you are getting a nice piece of equipment. Out of the box it can look a little intimidating, but if you take the time to follow the directions it really isn't difficult to setup at all.My son wears glasses and was really looking forward to him enjoying the ear cushions and boy did he ever. He said by far they are the best ear cushions he has ever had with his glasses. In retrospect this feature may be bad as he will be gaming longer than he needs to be. My problem with previous headsets is that they would get hot and sweaty around my ears, but the Turtle Beach make a big difference in keeping them cool. To fully enjoy this headset, you need to download the Audio Hub to utilize the SuperAmp. The sound clarity that comes through these are simply mind blowing. My teenage son loves that he can stream his music and enjoys changing the color on the amp. Because I can now hear all the little sounds that I was missing on before with previous headsets I feel like my gaming has gotten better. Many people have complained about the wires, but it all depends on your setup. Our PS4 is connected in our media room, so all of the wires are actually behind us as we play. If you are really into gaming you need to have these Turtle Beach Elite Pro2, my son and I really recommend them.

After testing the Turtle Beach - Elite Pro 2 Wired Gaming Headset for a few weeks I genuinely love some of the things about this headset that other manufacturers could take note of: . They're super-comfortable, even after extended use . The controls on the headset are easy to use . The "glasses" design in the headset help with the comfort-not just a gimmick! . It includes an optical cable!!! . The sound is terrific, and I'm told the mic is very clear I tried them on both my computer and my PS4-it's honestly a bit better set-up for my computer, as my PS4 is in my living room and my couch is kind of far away. I have to sit closer than I want if I want to use the wired amp (which is recommended, sounds better, and requires the optical cable), and I have to be extra careful with the cords. They can also be used as a straight headset plugged right into the controller, and still sound good, just not AS good. The PC set-up is a bit easier to work with the wires (they're very long for a PC, but not quite long enough for a couch 10-feet away from the TV) and the sound there is also very good. You can switch between the modes easy enough with the app, but the app can take a bit to figure out. The AMP also has controls on it, though, again, they're easier to use with the PC and the AMP sitting right in front of you than with the PS4 and it sitting somewhere between you and the TV. The glasses comfort design of the headset actually works and helps ease the usual pain caused by wearing headphones for an extended period of time over glasses-it's now one of my favorite features on any headset! It's also pretty important on these as they're fairly heavy. The other nice feature is the "cooling" cup design--it genuinely works as well--my ears did not get noticeably hot or sweaty at any time while using these. The biggest drawback to these, by far, is all the cords that are required for the best sound. They're pretty much not an option in my living room as between my dog and my kids someone is going to rip out a wire somewhere, and possibly cause some serious damage to something. If you don't mind the wires (or are using them with a PC where wires typically aren't a big deal) then these are some fantastic sounding, very comfortable headphones.

UNBOXING, AND INITIAL IMPRESSIONS: The packaging is better than most I've seen. Honestly, that's about all I can say in this area. While most manufacturers are doing better at "environmentally-friendly" packaging, including Turtle Beach, they still have a way to go before they can truly claim "environmentally-friendly". As for initial impression, all I can say is "WOW!!!" Nice-looking, quality materials, and built-to-last. My only'disappointment' in this area is the black & silver color scheme.I MUCH prefer the all-black w/ red accent of the original Elite Pro. It's a bit more understated than the original.but, at the same time, it won't attract unwanted attention. COMFORT & EASE OF OPERATION: The ear pads are thick enough to be comfortable for extended wearing, but, at the same time, are more breathable than most other thick-padded cans. The padding along the top of the head, while not as thick, is still quite comfortable, plus the rigid metal band helps keep everything solidly in place. The only downside to the metal band is that those with smaller heads (I'm "borderline") won't get a nice seal, thus outside sound can "leak" in. overall, fit's still quite good, and better than some others. For those with larger heads, you will have a nice, comfortable, tight seal, so consider that a huge "plus". The controls are fairly simplistic, which some will like, and others will hate. The in-line control controls only the mic (on/mute), while the remainder of the control is handled by the Super Amp. The app is how the majority of adjustments are made, and, unfortunately, I really haven't had a lot of time to play around with the settings. The Super Amp is, essentially, an external USB "sound card", when connected to a computer. It can also connect directly to an Xbox One, or PS4, depending on which version you get. The Super Amp supports Dolby 5.1-channel mixing, as well as DTS-X, plus it has a (limited) 3-band EQ (hi, mid, low) SOUND QUALITY: For gaming, this is where the Elite Pro 2 shines.and what it's designed for. The simulated surround sound is extremely good.one of the best I've had the pleasure of experiencing. Sound f/x are clean, clear, and loud, and, while direction isn't perfect (for that, you need a TRUE surround-sound system with individual speakers), again, it's one of the best. The only downside might be the microphone. While clear enough for chat, it lacks the crisp, clean sound one would expect from something in this price range. My recommendation would be to use a dedicated USB mic, and forget about using the Elite Pro 2's mic. Switching over to music for a quick minute, while the audio is quite good, it's a bit bass-heavy. However, there are plenty of people who will appreciate this, and consider this to be a "plus" (I'm not one of them). THE GOOD: . Very comfortable . Excellent sound quality . High-quality build . Bluetooth THE BAD: . App needs some serious improvement (based on pro reviews I've read) . Heavy bass . Sound "leak" for those with smaller heads . Price - At $250, it could be better THE UGLY: . Honestly, nothing I could think of FINAL VERDICT: Overall sound is very good.better, in fact, than many others in the same price range. At the same time, there are others in the same price range that are better. Does this mean you should avoid the Turtle Beach Elite Pro 2? In a word, "no". if you want to save some money, and don't need the 'Super Amp', get the original Elite Pro (the sweet-looking black w/ red accent), which uses the exact same drivers. However, if you want/need the 'Super Amp', like the idea of customizing the audio (via the app) and/or have a need/'want' for Bluetooth connectivity, then the Turtle Beach Elite Pro 2 could be your ticket. Disclaimer: This product was provided free, or at reduced cost, for the purpose of reviewing the product. Nevertheless, the above review, be it positive, negative, or anywhere in-between, is a 100% honest review, and the price paid played absolutely no part in my review.

I am testing the Elite Pro 2 with Super AMP wired. Really wanted to give this 4.5 stars. The build quality is outstanding. Feels like a grownup version of the original Elite 800 headset. Its comfortable, easy on the ears and head even after hours of use. I only tested this on the PS4 and will follow-up on PC gaming. The metal headband is next level and the memory foam ear cushions really do feel great. The 50mm Nanoclear is new and I was waiting to see if it lives up to the Hype. I can say without a doubt it does. Though to tweak this just right you have to use an app (as with many other products) for customization but it's worth the effort. The app is also great for the amplified setting. I was actually quite surprised to hear how good the audio was for both music and movies. Tested on Pandora and Vudu and like I said I was quite pleased with the quality of the audio. The only reason I didn't give this 5 stars is because of the app. It should be easier to adjust levels without stopping to set it up in the app. At this price point, this is close to a 5-star headset as I have tested. Great work Turtle Beach

When I opened the box I was impressed. The headsets are really nicely designed and felt very solid. Trying them on and they felt great and sat nicely on my melon. I honestly could not wait to try these out!!! That was where the excitement ended. I did something I rarely do...read the manual first. I had a feeling, with all the connections, that I may want to prepare myself before connecting to anything. According to the manual there is a Windows or Mac download for the headset and hub. It is recommended to update the headset for the latest features. I downloaded on my Windows 10 laptop. Performed the install and connected the device as prompted. Nope, did not find it, but Windows installed the drivers. Ok, kill the power and try again. Nope. Read a little and decided to force a software update by holding the Bluetooth button while plugging in the MINI-USB (yes mini) connector. It started the update and finished a few seconds later. The Windows/Mac app controls nothing with the headset but will perform firmware updates only. Now testing it out on the PC, tried adjusting the volume with the SuperAmp. Nothing. OK, lets look at the manual again. AH! I need to set the Amp in PC mode! Let me grab my Android phone. NOPE. Went to the TB website and clicked on the Android installer for Android 4.3 and higher. 4.3? Jelly Bean? Really? Guess that matches the MINI-USB connector. "Item not found" Ok, search by name... NOPE. Guess my OnePlus 6T has too new of an OS. Let's try my sons Essential PH-1... Nope, not from pre-2015. Well, guess I can try and connect to my work iPhone. AudioHub app says the device can't be found. OK, paired the Amp to the iPhone and the app can connect. Is this a joke? The app is completely useless and more of a puzzle game than a tool to enhance your experience. But it will drain a battery with no problem since it locks the screen on and tells you to plug the phone in. After about 10 minutes of clicking here and there and trying to direct thru this maze I found where to switch to PC mode. Maybe the AMP will allow me to control the volume now. NOPE. OK, enough with the PC, I won't use the AMP with the PC and just use the headphones as headphones. They are nice. Now to the real reason for these bad boys...PS4 TIME! Went thru the setting and connected the Amp to the PS4. Let's see what she can do. I can't hear anything. Turn the volume up. Nope. Turn the volume up inside the PS4 settings. OK, now we are cooking I can hear something. Turn the volume up on the Amp. NOPE. Ok, grab the phone and see what I can do. Finally I got the volume where I can hear it. But the Amp is useless, outside of lights a extension and a USB connection it does absolutely nothing. The dial makes the LED lights change like you are doing something but NADA. The Amp is useless. Just plug into the controller and save some pain. At least the headsets are nice. Good: Comfortable Nice design Can be configured for more comfort when wearing glasses, a cutout under the ear pads Bad: Mini-USB, really? Not sure why there is a Windows/Mac app. It does nothing but firmware updates. Essentially no Android app if you are on a fairly recent OS release. Checked on my other sons LG G6 and not available there either. Apple app is a maze. Terrible design. Good at draining a battery. Bad at managing anything. Honestly, the more I fought with this thing the more I wondered what the need for the amp was that a inline volume controller could not have done better. I expected better and was thoroughly disappointed. The headsets are nice, but the rest is garbage. Giving it 2 stars because I do like the feel of the headset and the design, but would not recommend to anyone.even people I want to beat online. I am hoping future firmware updates make the amp anything more than a flashlight. Also hoping the app is rewritten or at a minimum is available on Android versions from the last 3 years.

High End Sound and Comfort in a Wired Headset

This headphone set is nicely packaged, and you can't miss Turtle Beach's grab at getting "brand loyalty" enforced with a "we are ELITE" slogan posted in various places. This does seem like pretty high-quality equipment. Even the connecting hub/amp seems heavy and made of metal and strong plastics, as is the headset itself. It has an attachable mic, and comes with a 3.5 mm audio cable, USB cable, and optical audio cable. This is the wired set meant for use with PC or PS4, so there is nothing to charge up or place batteries in. You may need a magnifying glass for the instruction booklet. You download a primary control app for Android or iPhone, and from that point you can set the hub for use with either PC or PS4. You download a separate app on your Windows PC or USB-connected device to upgrade a new firmware package for the hub and headset. It's easy, and it all seemed to work better (and faster) from the hub control app after a recommended firmware update. The Windows app is just for firmware, all other tweaks are the normal ones available in Windows sound or the Turtle Beach app on your phone. You can preset levels for the microphone or audio out (for those gamers who want to record all the action including your voice. @@@@@@@ This set could also be used for things like podcast recording. The mic and the hub output was instantly accessible in Audacity, so even newbies can play around with recordings right off the bat. The microphone quality was pretty good. What I find is the biggest selling point--by far--is how comfortable these are even after a couple hours. It's not like they are light-weight (they aren't) but the cushioning of the cross band and the ear pieces was really nice, and I didn't seem to be sweating in them either. I selected "Extra Bass and Treble" for my custom listening setting, and I like the well-balanced sound and clarity. I don't think these had the noise-cancelling feature that a lot of other high-end brands have but I still enjoyed several extended sessions of use with them. I like the sound quality as much as those other brands I have. The target market here is gaming of course, and for that you may not miss a wireless feature. I do like the amp/hub a lot--it's quick and easy access to a rotary volume control and inputs and outputs make it a nice addition to a desk top. If you spend hours on your PS4 or PC, this set would be great for you.

I reviewed this headset based on use with both my PS4 and gaming desktop. To start at the beginning, the unboxing: the packaging is sleek and carefully designed to prevent damage. Inside the box you have the headset, headset cord, mini-usb power cable, optical cable, superamp, and the manual. Setup is easy, plug in mic boom, plug cord into headset and amp, plug power into amp and PS4 (or desktop) and done. There is an optical cable if you chose to use it, however to my amateur ears I could not tell a difference, so opted to forego the optical setup and have one less cable to deal with. There is also the option to connect directly to your phone / tablet without the superamp. Note, if you wear glasses there is this really cool feature built into the cup that will allow you to create a channel for your glasses and improve comfort. As far as comfort goes, this headset is top of the line. I'm a snob when it comes to headset comfort, as the majority of headsets in all price ranges hurt the top of my head. This one is the clear winner when it comes to weight, comfort and temperature. The headset overall fit is precise and of the quality I expect for the price. The adjustment allows a wide range of head sizes, they adapt easily between myself and my 8 year old and fit us both perfectly. The cup foam is just the right level of pressure while still feeling cool to the touch. After 2 hours of wear they aren't hot, too much pressure or too heavy. The mic has good placement and I have comfort knowing that my 8 year old can drop them (because he did) and they won't break. On to the important stuff, the audio. The sound is crisp, with amazing depth and range for both mic and sound. I'm in love with the background noise elimination, mainly when my son is complaining loudly that my turn is over. I found that these headphones gave me more audio clarity than I get with my mid level wireless ones, so now I'm hearing new background nuances of the game that I had previously missed. I was a bit perplexed in that I need to turn up the superamp to full volume for a comfortable audio level in the majority of games I tried. I think you may have a hard time getting the audio up to an uncomfortable level, however since that isn't normally a goal for most, I don't have any issues with this. Lastly, know you are getting a WIRED headset. I read many reviews on this headset about how the wires were a negative. If you don't want wires, don't buy this. It does create the wires running across the room situation, depending on how close you sit. This is ok for me, I'm gaming on a 60" and sitting ~15' away with no issues or pulling from the cables. Would I prefer all of these option in a wireless headset, YES I would, however I'm happy with the quality provided and will deal with the wires. Overall a great quality headset with outstanding audio, and makes me feel like I took a step up from my occasional social gamer status.

I really like this headset/amp combo. You can connect it to a PS4 or a PC. I currently have it with my PS4 Pro. It comes with decent length optical, usb and headset cables. I seat about 7 feet from my PS4 and I still have cable slack. Some people may prefer a wireless solution, but having cables you have a pure digital connection. No wireless hiss or interference. The sound is outstanding and the surround sound is effective, as it gets it from the optical digital output from the PS4, you have to select dolby digital bitstream. The headset can be connected to your phone via their app. There you can tune the headset to your preference. Has many presets and you can customize them, oh, and it allows you to get calls and media from your phone directly to the headset via Bluetooth!! No more taking the headset off for calls! The app may alert you of a new firmware update, which I recommend keep up to date, oh and it can only be updated on a PC with their windows app. Just make sure you plug it in while holding the Bluetooth pairing button for it to update it. The surround sound is great and doesn't sound fake (at least with their signature sound profile). I can pin point sounds spatially and doesn't sound like a reverberating theater. I tried their super human hearing, supposedly helps you pin point steps and gun shots better, but I found it was too fake. The regular surround just worked great. They were very comfy and have a special grove for glasses wearing people, great! One tip and one caveat: Make sure you push hard all the way in the mic! I thought it was in but wasn't getting any voice picked up, I had to push it all the way in hard! Only caveat is I wish the amp had more functions, rather than just volume. Like their tactical amp they have. Maybe add more controls on it like treble, bass, chat mix etc. All has to be done via their phone app. Apart from that, the only other control is mic mute via a switch on the headset cable. Also, you will get sound from the PS4 to your tv, at the same time to you headset. This isn't the headsets fault, as the PS4 is designed to output sound from any cables available (the hdmi going to your tv). It can be solved by muting the tv (if there isn't a persistent mute icon, or as in my case, lowering the volume on the tv all the way down). Other than this, its a great headset!!

    Hear What You've Been Missing

Gaming is about being immersed in the moment. Whether that moment is surviving a shrinking safe zone in Apex Legends or Fortnite to succumbing to the rich environmental sounds of The Division 2 or Sekiro Shadows Die Twice; that immersion is complemented by the audio that flows into your ears from your gaming headset. The Turtle Beach Elite Pro 2 with SuperAmp is a serious wired gaming headset that brings the game to you. The design of this headset is sharp and carries an elegance that needs to be appreciated when resting on a headset hook or on a table. The suspended head pad rests comfortably on top of your head and doesn't'dig' and create discomfort after several hours of gaming. In the past, I used to doubt the significance of suspended headband but I've learned that it makes all of the difference when it comes to comfort. It's something that a gamer has to experience in order to appreciate. The ear cushions are a very comfortable memory foam design that cup your ears, nearly blocking out the normal sounds that might surround your while gaming. And like the head pad, the earcups remain comfortable after hours of use and there are no sweating/hot ears from prolonged use that sometimes comes with other headsets. Some gamers wear glasses whether they are prescription or gaming glasses. In either case, most headsets create a pinching discomfort after a couple of hours because the earcups are pressing against the arms of the glasses. Within the easily removable earcups is ProSpecs Glasses Relief System. It's a small strap that you can adjust that creates a 'crevice', relieving any pressure that might come from the earcups pressing against the arms of your glasses. I wear gaming glasses and so far, I've yet to feel that discomfort that I typically would experience after a few hours with my other headset. Let me talk about the sound which is the whole purpose of this headset. There are a lot of options when it comes to customization for personal sound preferences with the Elite Pro 2 but even right out of the box, the Elite Pro 2 is ready to be used and delivers a symphony of sound immersion for the player. There are three ways to set up this headset to your PS4. If you have a PS4 Pro, you can use the optical cable (included) and the USB power that connects to the SuperAmp device, if you're playing on a standard PS4, then you will be plugging the SuperAmp through the USB only and finally, you could just simply plug the headset directly into the PS4 controller minus the SuperAmp device. However, it's the SuperAmp that 'brings the noise' for the gamer. It's a powerful amp that has many options for you if you download the free Turtle Beach sound app. The app and the SuperAmp connect via Bluetooth and from there you have the options of increasing the Treble, the Bass, or both if you desire. It's all about finding the perfect balance of sound for what you're playing. There are preset sound settings that are built around the different type of games and will pacify most gamers. Turn on the Super Hearing option and you will immediately hear the difference. Through the app, you can even customize the color display and brightness of the SuperAmp. It's the little touches like this that make the Elite Pro 2 special. Do you like streaming your games? This headset even has options to increase your voice during your gameplay so that your audience hears you clearly without the worry of being drowned out by the loud sounds that can accompany a game like Apex Legends or The Division 2. I was really impressed by how much clearer I sounded during my live streams. My previous headset made me sound like I was Darth Vader having a panic attack through my mic despite me not being a heavy breather. The Elite Pro 2 doesn't amplify unwanted noise. It picks up my voice clearly and delivers it to my teammates and stream viewers. In fact, through the app, there are options to prioritize your voice during stream sessions. Now I don't have to be so self-conscious during my broadcasts. The Elite Pro 2 also has mic monitoring which allows you to speak at a normal level because the headset subtlety allows you to hear your voice when playing. With my previous gaming headset, I had to keep on earcup slightly off an ear so that I wasn't shouting when talking to friends in a match or in party chat. I should also mention that noises (texts or phone calls) aren't heard to your viewers or chat group when your device is connected to the SuperAmp. Whether you're a casual gamer that kicks back at the end of the day to unwind or if you're a streamer that is building an audience and wants the best audio for them and yourself, The Turtle Beach Elite Pro 2 with SuperAmp is comfortable, its attractive, and it delivers the sound that you didn't know you were missing.
