Turtle Beach's Elite Pro 2 headset offers so much in the way of functionality that there simply is not enough time to write about all this headset has to offer. From everything down to sound and voice controls all the way up to lighting and EQ set up, this headset is sure to please most gamers out there. For the purposes of this review i will try to focus on some of the more important functions and please note this headset was tested on the PS4 platform. First off i want to talk about design and what you can expect to receive out of the box. This unit was packaged like a high end designer jewelry box almost. I felt almost like i should of been honored to receive this unit. Out of the box your going to receive the headset, boom mic, super amp, optical cable, micro usb cable and 3.5mm cable. Cable length is good, allowing you to sit well beyond the length of your gaming console. My only real complaint is the amount of cords needed to run this set up. If you game from a gaming monitor and desk then the cords really don't pose any issues in the form of it getting in your way. However i initially tested this on my ps4 while hooked up to my 47" t.v. i hated having the wires all sprawled out on the floor. It may not bother you but it bothered me because i like to keep my battle area clean. Moving on to design and comfort. These are hands down the most comfortable and thickest cushion headset i have ever owned or tested. The comfort level was definitely top tier and a really nice feature that Turtle Beach implemented that i am a fan of is the ability to adjust your ear cups for people that wear glasses. You can see from the uploaded picture that the ear cups are removable. Once removed on the back side of the ear cups there is a cloth tab that you can pull and set in to place for people that wear glasses. What this does is it creates an indentation in the headset which allows your glasses to sit perfectly in without creating pressure points. The reason i like this feature alot is because i chose to game on a 27" gaming monitor and end up sitting real close to the screen. I wear blue light filter glasses so the comfort level while wearing headsets usually drops. Oh and one other thing to note, the ear cups have a really nice cooling property to their design which means you never get hot or sweaty while wearing them. Now lets really get in to the main reason for buying this headset which is sound and voice chat quality along with its functionality controls. The first thing that really stood out to me was the super amp and its functions. The main function of the super amp is to serve as the main gate way for your audio controls and bluetooth functions. The super amp lights up around the unit as you turn the dial to indicate volume level. Lighting control can be adjusted through the free Turtle Beach app which allows you to chose if the lighting stays on, increases as in game volume increases or you can put it in stealth mode which turns off all the lights. The super amp also has an audio output for streaming purposes. Now do you need the super amp to use these headsets? Absolutely not. The headset acts as a normal headset via the 3.5 mm cable meaning you can plug this directly to your ps4 controller or you can hook it up to your phone and listen to music. Now with that being said one thing i will say is there is a significant drop in audio quality and clarity if you chose to go this route. This headset truly shines while using the super amp. Lets talk about some of the things you can do through the app. You can chose and make your color design for the Turtle Beach logo when it lights up. You can design your own EQ pre sets for your gaming desire. Now this is a really nice and cool feature to have and i'll explain why. Let's say your playing a shooter like The Division and you want that heavy bass drop so you can feel every bullet and explosion in the game. Simply set up your EQ adjustments to get them where you want them then after you can save them and label them 'Shooter' or whatever you like. This is a nice feature to have as you can set, adjust and save different features in order to swap them out based on the game you are playing i.e. shooter, rpg, side scroller, etc. You can also adjust your game and chat ratio so you can chose to receive more chat audio than game audio or vice versa. There's alot you can do through the app so i just wanted to talk about a couple that stood out. Another key area that really got me was the ability to stream music directly in your headset off your phone and be able to control the sound balance of your music, in game sound and chat volume. This means when im in a party and we are grinding away for loot i can stream music to help pass the time all without taking away from the game sound or chat audio from team mates. I can control how much music, game volume and chat volume that i want to come in to make sure that they don't all come in at the same volume and drown each other out. Now if all you care about is in game sound quality then this headset will not leave you disappointed. With a 7.1 Dolby surround sound set up you are going to be able to hear sounds that you may have never heard before. I could hear metal creaking as construction equipment was swaying off in the distance. Not only was i able to pick up on the sound but i was able to even tell which direction it was coming from and roughly how far away it was all without having to look at a map. This headset does an awesome job at displacing sound quality that it makes immersion all that much more real. The bass drops are deep and clean but never too loud to take away from other sounds. Voice clarity is crisp and clean allowing me to hear perfectly all in game AI chat and audio chat with my team mates perfectly. Here's the bottom line. There are enough functions to please just about everybody out there. The sound quality is so crisp and clean that you are going to feel as if you are in the game. The Dolby surround sound means that you will have the upper hand as you will be able to hear enemies off in the distance and be able to tell just how far away they are before they even notice you. The chat controls are perfect allowing you to control your chat output to your teammates as well as the chat audio coming in to your headset. The app also provides an option to turn on a gateway for your mic blocking all outside noises from bleeding in to your group chat. All in all guys this is well worth the money in my opinion. The only complaint i have with this unit is the amount of cords it runs. But in retrospect this is a very small complaint with many more benefits. This is hands down my favorite and new go to headset for gaming and streaming. I find it hard to believe that this headset would disappoint anyone. Do yourself a favor and pick a head set up to see what its like to wear an elite head set.

I've been looking for a great pair of PS4 cans and as a result, I have several pairs. A cheap pair that just plugs into the 3.5mm Audio Jack on the controller and another pair that has 7.1 audio. The 7.1 audio pair have been my go-to, but they just aren't very comfy for more than 45 min of play, as my ears start getting hot and sweaty. Also, for some reason, they summon static electricity (pops/crackles) into my ear if I get up or sit down while using them. Then, I ran across these new Turtle Beach headphones. I've seen and heard of them in the past, but have never used them and wanted to give them a try. When I received them, I was super impressed by the box and packaging. There's the black inner box this is covered by a cardboard slipcover that shows the headset and all the features. Unboxing was a joy and really makes you feel like like you've gotten bang for your buck. It's also pretty hefty. Included, you get the headphones (duh!), the removable microphone, the SuperAmp audio controller, a headset audio cable, USB power cable and an optical audio cable (for original/launch PS4 and PS4 Pro use). All in all, the cables are of a very generous length and I didn't really have any issues in that department. However, I generally sit about 6'-7' away from my TV. The first thing you want to do before anything is update the firmware. I downloaded the Turtle Beach program on my PC, hooked them up and it automatically applied the latest firmware version, which has fixes to volume levels and such. Please, please, make sure you do this before you do anything else. Hookup was a breeze - on paper and in looking at the manual, it looks really complicated. For the PS4 pro, you run the USB Power Cable and the "optional" Optical Cable (more on this later) from the back of the SuperAmp into your PS4, then the Headset Audio Cable from the front of the SuperAmp into your headset. Then just attach the mic. That's it. However, this is a software setup step, as well. If you are using the Optical cable, you will need to go into your PS4 Audio settings and change the Primary Output Port to Digital Out (Optical) and the Audio Format (Priority) to Bitstream (Dolby). Also, make sure you select only the Dolby Digital 5.1ch setting. You then need to go to your audio settings and set the "Output to Headphones" option to "Chat Audio". If you aren't using the Optical Audio Cable, you would just choose "All Audio" (or the equivalent of). Again, all of this sounds complicated, but in practice, only takes a few seconds. The audio quality of these headphones are fantastic! However, I've noticed a common factor between multiple PS4-specific headphones I've tried, which is an overall low audio volume. I do have a slight hearing impairment and so far, I've been able to hear most games great. Please note that in most cases, you will have the volume dial at max for a "comfortable" volume level on most games. However, a few games I've actually had to turn down. I've tested these cans on several games, including The Division 2 (the game's audio itself is lower than most games, so I had to max the volume dial), Sekiro (AMAZING audio...actually had to lower the volume to a comfortable level) and Fortnite (Great audio, kept it a few notches below max). If I had any complaint with these headphones at all, it would be the sheer number of cables involved. I was really unhappy at first because I have enough cables to deal with between my PS4 controller charging cable and my PS4 VR cables. With the USB Power Cable, Optical Audio Cable and the Headset cable itself, there are wires EVERYWHERE! I finally decided to nix the Optical cable for the sake of simplicity. I'm happy to say that there is ZERO impact to the quality or volume of the audio. The only difference this makes is without, you lose some functionality of the iOS/Android Audio Hub app (I used it on my iPhone XS Max), primarily the ability to control Independent Game + Chat Volume. However, I've not had any issues and it seems to still work for me... There are so much more details that I would love to go into in regards to setup and configuration, but my review space is starting to get limited (really wish they would allow for longer review and being able to post more than 2 pics...), so I'm gonna start wrapping up. If you are using a PS4 with a dedicated sound system (receiver/sound bar), you may wish to opt to NOT use the Optical Audio cable, as this severely complicates the setup and having to switch between HDMI and Optical every time you want to use the headphones. However, if you don't really have a dedicated sound system, then absolutely use the Optical cable and just keep your settings static. I also wanted to add that when connected to the Audio Hub app via Bluetooth and using the headphones, the sound comes from my phone and into my headphones! I absolutely LOVE, LOVE, LOVE this unexpected detail! In conclusion - I'm going to give this headset two reviews: 4/5 Stars - If you plan on using the Optical cable - this is due to the further setup complications and annoyances, in addition to the over-abundance of cables involved. 5/5 Stars - If you do NOT plan on using the Optical cable (my personal suggestion for those who have a dedicated audio system). This makes them simply "plug and play" and easily removable to put up, etc. Bonus tip: When setting up and not using the mic for chat, make sure to go into the Audio Hub app on your phone and set your Game/Chat slider all the way to Game (to the left) to make the headphones louder. By default, this is set halfway, which results in lower overall volume.

Gaming is about being immersed in the moment. Whether that moment is surviving a shrinking safe zone in Apex Legends or Fortnite to succumbing to the rich environmental sounds of The Division 2 or Sekiro Shadows Die Twice; that immersion is complemented by the audio that flows into your ears from your gaming headset. The Turtle Beach Elite Pro 2 with SuperAmp is a serious wired gaming headset that brings the game to you. The design of this headset is sharp and carries an elegance that needs to be appreciated when resting on a headset hook or on a table. The suspended head pad rests comfortably on top of your head and doesn’t ‘dig’ and create discomfort after several hours of gaming. In the past, I used to doubt the significance of suspended headband but I’ve learned that it makes all of the difference when it comes to comfort. It’s something that a gamer has to experience in order to appreciate. The ear cushions are a very comfortable memory foam design that cup your ears, nearly blocking out the normal sounds that might surround your while gaming. And like the head pad, the earcups remain comfortable after hours of use and there are no sweating/hot ears from prolonged use that sometimes comes with other headsets. Some gamers wear glasses whether they are prescription or gaming glasses. In either case, most headsets create a pinching discomfort after a couple of hours because the earcups are pressing against the arms of the glasses. Within the easily removable earcups is ProSpecs Glasses Relief System. It’s a small strap that you can adjust that creates a ‘crevice’, relieving any pressure that might come from the earcups pressing against the arms of your glasses. I wear gaming glasses and so far, I have yet to feel that discomfort that I typically would experience after a few hours with my other headset. Let me talk about the sound which is the whole purpose of this headset. There are a lot of options when it comes to customization for personal sound preferences with the Elite Pro 2 but even right out of the box, the Elite Pro 2 is ready to be used and delivers a symphony of sound immersion for the player. There are three ways to set up this headset to your PS4. If you have a PS4 Pro, you can use the optical cable (included) and the USB power that connects to the SuperAmp device, if you’re playing on a standard PS4, then you will be plugging the SuperAmp through the USB only and finally, you could just simply plug the headset directly into the PS4 controller minus the SuperAmp device. However, it’s the SuperAmp that ‘brings the noise’ for the gamer. It’s a powerful amp that has many options for you if you download the free Turtle Beach sound app. The app and the SuperAmp connect via Bluetooth and from there you have the options of increasing the Treble, the Bass, or both if you desire. It’s all about finding the perfect balance of sound for what you are playing. There are preset sound settings that are built around the different type of games and will pacify most gamers. Turn on the Super Hearing option and you will immediately hear the difference. Through the app, you can even customize the color display and brightness of the SuperAmp. It’s the little touches like this that make the Elite Pro 2 special. Do you like streaming your games? This headset even has options to increase your voice during your gameplay so that your audience hears you clearly without the worry of being drowned out by the loud sounds that can accompany a game like Apex Legends or The Division 2. I was really impressed by how much clearer I sounded during my live streams. My previous headset made me sound like I was Darth Vader having a panic attack through my mic despite me not being a heavy breather. The Elite Pro 2 doesn’t amplify unwanted noise. It picks up my voice clearly and delivers it to my teammates and stream viewers. In fact, through the app, there are options to prioritize your voice during stream sessions. Now I don’t have to be so self-conscious during my broadcasts. The Elite Pro 2 also has mic monitoring which allows you to speak at a normal level because the headset subtlety allows you to hear your voice when playing. With my previous gaming headset, I had to keep on earcup slightly off an ear so that I wasn’t shouting when talking to friends in a match or in party chat. I should also mention that noises (texts or phone calls) aren’t heard to your viewers or chat group when your device is connected to the SuperAmp. Whether you are a casual gamer that kicks back at the end of the day to unwind or if you’re a streamer that is building an audience and wants the best audio for them and yourself, The Turtle Beach Elite Pro 2 with SuperAmp is comfortable, its attractive, and it delivers the sound that you didn’t know you were missing.

I really like this headset/amp combo. You can connect it to a PS4 or a PC. I currently have it with my PS4 Pro. It comes with decent length optical, usb and headset cables. I seat about 7 feet from my PS4 and I still have cable slack. Some people may prefer a wireless solution, but having cables you have a pure digital connection. No wireless hiss or interference. The sound is outstanding and the surround sound is effective, as it gets it from the optical digital output from the PS4, you have to select dolby digital bitstream. The headset can be connected to your phone via their app. There you can tune the headset to your preference. Has many presets and you can customize them, oh, and it allows you to get calls and media from your phone directly to the headset via Bluetooth!! No more taking the headset off for calls! The app may alert you of a new firmware update, which I recommend keep up to date, oh and it can only be updated on a PC with their windows app. Just make sure you plug it in while holding the Bluetooth pairing button for it to update it. The surround sound is great and doesn't sound fake (at least with their signature sound profile). I can pin point sounds spatially and doesn't sound like a reverberating theater. I tried their super human hearing, supposedly helps you pin point steps and gun shots better, but I found it was too fake. The regular surround just worked great. They were very comfy and have a special grove for glasses wearing people, great! One tip and one caveat: Make sure you push hard all the way in the mic! I thought it was in but wasn't getting any voice picked up, I had to push it all the way in hard! Only caveat is I wish the amp had more functions, rather than just volume. Like their tactical amp they have. Maybe add more controls on it like treble, bass, chat mix etc. All has to be done via their phone app. Apart from that, the only other control is mic mute via a switch on the headset cable. Also, you will get sound from the PS4 to your tv, at the same time to you headset. This is not the headsets fault, as the PS4 is designed to output sound from any cables available (the hdmi going to your tv). It can be solved by muting the tv (if there isn't a persistent mute icon, or as in my case, lowering the volume on the tv all the way down). Other than this, its a great headset!!

The Turtle Beach Elite Pro 2 is a great gaming headset that is great for music also. They use 50mm drivers that pump out the sound. I really liked the bass and midtones. They have a superhuman setting for gaming so you can even hear the background whispers and steps so you dont miss a thing! The gel cushions are very comfortable, you can wear them for hours and not get that uncomfortable feeling you get from other headsets. These headsets have what Turtle beach refers to as ProSpec technology to allow adjustments for eyeglasses for comfort and seal to prevent sound leak. You pull the magnetic cushion off and adjust a band that makes the channel size change. The Superamp works great that is if you hook it up correctly. If you plug your pc into the wrong jack like I did the output will be very low and the Superamp dial will not work and the turtle beach logo will be red. Just FYI plug it into the front Jack on the amp not the back then everything will work great. For the PS4 you use the optical input for sound and USB for power. For the Slim model using the Usb for power and sound. For details see the setup guide https://support.turtlebeach.com/hc/en-us/articles/360009522674-Elite-Pro-2-SuperAmp-for-PS4-Quick-Start-Guide The long USB cord is a pain but not bad, It is very long so you can get the distance you need to play. The Smartphone app allows you to set your profile and the various options for the headphones. You will need it to switch the headphones from PS4 to PC mode and to update the firmware. Speaking of updating, you will need to download the Turtle beach PC software, plug the headphones into a PC or Mac. The software will automatically detect and update your headphones if needed. I had no problem with the update. Overall these headsets have great sound and comfort. I have wireless headphones as well while they sound good, I feel the wired headsets always give superior sound without any cutouts. I wish Turtle beach allowed Bluetooth to the AMP for PC and PS4 gaming, it has Bluetooth already and can connect to your phone or tablet this way I am not clear why that would not work with the PC or a gaming system. Maybe they could not get the bandwidth they wanted?? I also would like to see a native PC and PS4 app for the settings.

Turtle Beach has been around forever with their gaming headsets. While primarily for the console gamer they work perfectly well for PC use. Whether for streaming movies, listening to music or playing your favorite game on a PS4 or PC, the Elite Pro 2 with Elite Superamp gaming headset should be considered. Yeah, they are a bit pricey but man are they worth it. Truth be told I'm not much of a console gamer but with Division 2 coming out I wanted a comfortable headset with surround sound for my gaming PC. These are loaded with great features. In the box you get the headset, the SuperAmp with dial volume control, a boom mic, a 10 foot micro USB cable, an optical cable and a 6 foot 3.5mm cable. Connecting the headset to your console or PC is easly with the USB cable from the device to the SuperAmp and the 3.5mm cable from the SuperAmp to the headset. Then just plug in the mic boom and you are ready to rock and roll. The SuperAmp has rubber pads on the bottom and enough weight where they will stay put on your desk and not slide around. I did have an initial setup problem with Division 2. While the headset worked perfectly fine with most of my games, Youtube and other streaming services, for some reason while recognized by the PC and the game I couldn't get sound out of the headset. I had to go to Windows audio settings while the game was running and force the system to output to the headset. Just a minor inconvenience that took me a while to figure out but all is good now. These are easily the most comfortable headset I own. I love the over the ear cups that fully cover my ears. Each cup swivels back a full 90 degrees so they lay flat across my collarbone. The earcup padding and covers are extremely soft making long gaming sessions possible with no discomfort. The padding easily conforms over glasses so you don't get that nagging pressure on the temples. The strap has just the right spring in it so they are not too tight or too loose and the strap padding also adds to the comfort. Fine tuning the sound is possible using your smartphone and the Turtle Beach Audio Hub software. Simply download the proper version to your phone (or tablet) pair them via Bluetooth and you can tweak to your hearts content. There are presets for different modes (game, movie, music, stereo). You can also pick a preset for the type of game you are playing (First Person Shooter, Streamer, Indie, Battle Royale or Racing). You can also boost bass or treble or both, or boost for vocals. There are even slider adjustments for the output and mic levels. The result is a highly adjustable audio experience. The price point on these originally was about $250 but I see they have dropped the price to just under $200 making it an even sweeter deal. I've retired my other headsets and use these exclusively for almost everything gaming and even for streaming my favorite movies and videos. Go for it if you can afford them!!! You won't be sorry!

Stellar headset for comfort and audio depth

I reviewed this headset based on use with both my PS4 and gaming desktop. To start at the beginning, the unboxing: the packaging is sleek and carefully designed to prevent damage. Inside the box you have the headset, headset cord, mini-usb power cable, optical cable, superamp, and the manual. Setup is easy, plug in mic boom, plug cord into headset and amp, plug power into amp and PS4 (or desktop) and done. There is an optical cable if you chose to use it, however to my amateur ears I could not tell a difference, so opted to forego the optical setup and have one less cable to deal with. There is also the option to connect directly to your phone / tablet without the superamp. Note, if you wear glasses there is this really cool feature built into the cup that will allow you to create a channel for your glasses and improve comfort. As far as comfort goes, this headset is top of the line. I am a snob when it comes to headset comfort, as the majority of headsets in all price ranges hurt the top of my head. This one is the clear winner when it comes to weight, comfort and temperature. The headset overall fit is precise and of the quality I expect for the price. The adjustment allows a wide range of head sizes, they adapt easily between myself and my 8 year old and fit us both perfectly. The cup foam is just the right level of pressure while still feeling cool to the touch. After 2 hours of wear they aren't hot, too much pressure or too heavy. The mic has good placement and I have comfort knowing that my 8 year old can drop them (because he did) and they won't break. On to the important stuff, the audio. The sound is crisp, with amazing depth and range for both mic and sound. I am in love with the background noise elimination, mainly when my son is complaining loudly that my turn is over. I found that these headphones gave me more audio clarity than I get with my mid level wireless ones, so now I'm hearing new background nuances of the game that I had previously missed. I was a bit perplexed in that I need to turn up the superamp to full volume for a comfortable audio level in the majority of games I tried. I think you may have a hard time getting the audio up to an uncomfortable level, however since that isn't normally a goal for most, I don't have any issues with this. Lastly, know you are getting a WIRED headset. I read many reviews on this headset about how the wires were a negative. If you don't want wires, don't buy this. It does create the wires running across the room situation, depending on how close you sit. This is ok for me, I am gaming on a 60" and sitting ~15' away with no issues or pulling from the cables. Would I prefer all of these option in a wireless headset, YES I would, however I'm happy with the quality provided and will deal with the wires. Overall a great quality headset with outstanding audio, and makes me feel like I took a step up from my occasional social gamer status.

This headset blows the competition out of the water. I was playing my favorite FPS battlefield field 1, and it feels like you’re there. This is when you’re fully connected with the wired setup having the amplifier connected also through optical Audio. That is the full potential to enjoying your gaming experience. Setup instructions are fully detailed and explained to get you up and running. Now, I understand this is wired and not wireless, and you can still use the 3.5 mm jack and included cord to directly connect to your controller (which I did try but, it doesn’t sound the same), but that setup doesn’t allow the amplifier to go in between the headset and the PS4 controller. Not that I have found a method yet. My current setup is my 50” 4K TV on a filing cabinet desk, and the PS4 on a shelf to a computer desk right next to the tv, with the amplifier connected Alison on that shelf, and audio cable running from that to my headset, and I sit about 4 feet. The 3.5mm cable included is long enough and decent. Just have to be careful for moving around and to be sure that your out of the way of the audio cable, otherwise tug on it by accident your amplifier may fall along with it and, god forbid the PS4. But I’m careful. This is probably more suitable and tailored if you game on a desktop with a HD or 4K monitor, and the console OR your high end gaming PC, and sit within reasonable close range. I just might convert later on in the future. The headset is comfortable but compared to the other headsets I have, it’s a bit slightly heavy. I like how the EarPads are magnets and removable. You can adjust these to work well if you wear glasses (which I do). Overall Turtle beach, I see as a brand that will be recognized for premium gaming Audio headsets to enhance your gaming experience ultimately.

PS4/PS4 Pro best headphones out there

Turtle Beach once again made an awesome headset for PS4 users. The Elite Pro 2 Works for PS4/PS4 Pro/PC as well as anything with Bluetooth. This headset is packing a slew of features. I've used this on my PS4 Pro with great results. First, the Comfortability of these headphones are fantastic, They are extremely well built with a nice weight on your head. Memory foam earcups mold over your ears and keep them cool during long sessions with Apex Legends and Overwatch kept your ears cooled. The cushion between your ears and the fabric always stay adjusted. There are "customizable" speaker plates that give your pair some personality but I was unable to test this. I do think these are some of the most comfortable headphones I've used when it comes to gaming on PS4. Perhaps the most interesting of these headphones is that it provides extra comfort; There is a small channel in the ear cushion that allows people with glasses to use these headphones for hours upon hours at a time. Kudos to Turtle Beach for this. The pro gaming mic picks up everything you say but none of the background. The noise-canceling works great, You don't have to yell things into the mic but simply just talk. If there are sounds in the background it drowns them out such as a fan or a baby crying. You can adjust the volume of your own voice (but you can also do this on PS4) to not be as loud to the other players. The sound of the Turtle Beach - Elite Pro 2 for PS4 sounds dramatically good, You can hear every footstep to explosions. Resident Evil 2: Remake was one of the best sounding games when using these headphones. Monsters such as the lickers can be heard moving from such far back and the Sound of Mr. X walking around adds to the tension. Battlefield V felt like bullets was zooming pass my head. Elite Pro 2 are DTS Headphone X certified and the drivers sound amazing. 7.1 headphones really do put you in the middle of your game. Did I mention that these headphones have BASS. Massive bass is embedded into these things with presets of more bass including Bass Boost, Signature Sound, Bass and Treble Boost, and Vocal Boost. If you need to hear that booming sound with less distortion these are it. These are also good with music and call quality from testing on iOS devices and you can take calls while gaming. While the downfall to all of this is them being wired this is the best method for keeping everything connected. Overall these are some nice headphones and well designed. I certainly wouldn't use these with PSVR but on their own, they are amazing and feels nice. You won't be disappointed if you pick these up and there aren't that many good options for PS4 anyway so these are my go-to headphones for console gaming.

High End Sound and Comfort in a Wired Headset

This headphone set is nicely packaged, and you can't miss Turtle Beach's grab at getting "brand loyalty" enforced with a "we are ELITE" slogan posted in various places. This does seem like pretty high-quality equipment. Even the connecting hub/amp seems heavy and made of metal and strong plastics, as is the headset itself. It has an attachable mic, and comes with a 3.5 mm audio cable, USB cable, and optical audio cable. This is the wired set meant for use with PC or PS4, so there is nothing to charge up or place batteries in. You may need a magnifying glass for the instruction booklet. You download a primary control app for Android or iPhone, and from that point you can set the hub for use with either PC or PS4. You download a separate app on your Windows PC or USB-connected device to upgrade a new firmware package for the hub and headset. It's easy, and it all seemed to work better (and faster) from the hub control app after a recommended firmware update. The Windows app is just for firmware, all other tweaks are the normal ones available in Windows sound or the Turtle Beach app on your phone. You can preset levels for the microphone or audio out (for those gamers who want to record all the action including your voice.) This set could also be used for things like podcast recording. The mic and the hub output was instantly accessible in Audacity, so even newbies can play around with recordings right off the bat. The microphone quality was pretty good. What I find is the biggest selling point--by far--is how comfortable these are even after a couple hours. It's not like they are light-weight (they aren't) but the cushioning of the cross band and the ear pieces was really nice, and I didn't seem to be sweating in them either. I selected "Extra Bass and Treble" for my custom listening setting, and I like the well-balanced sound and clarity. I don't think these had the noise-cancelling feature that a lot of other high-end brands have but I still enjoyed several extended sessions of use with them. I like the sound quality as much as those other brands I have. The target market here is gaming of course, and for that you may not miss a wireless feature. I do like the amp/hub a lot--it's quick and easy access to a rotary volume control and inputs and outputs make it a nice addition to a desk top. If you spend hours on your PS4 or PC, this set would be great for you.

I was looking for a headset to use with my PS4 Pro. I don't game competitively, but I just wanted something to use late at night when everyone was asleep. I decided to give the Turtle Beach - Elite Pro 2 Wired Gaming Headset a try. There are so many headsets to choose from at almost every price point, but I will tell you why I think this is the one to get. Upon first opening the box I could tell this was going to be great product. The packaging, and the build quality of everything was absolutely top notch. It is also the most comfortable headset I have used by far. Setup was not too difficult, but required me to run a long optical and USB cable from the PS4 Pro to the SuperAmp. If you are looking for a wire free setup this may not be the right headset for you. Once this was done I was able to download the Turtle Beach Audio Hub App so I could adjust the sound profile, and the chat/volume balance. Now for the most important part...the sound. Lets just say I was blown away. It wasn't necessarily the volume it provides (although there was plenty of that), but the sound QUALITY. Gaming sounds FANTASTIC through these. All of the smallest details can be heard with a very realistic quality to the sound. All I can say is that I am super impressed. When I first decided to pick these up I just wanted something for late at night when everyone was asleep. Now I use them almost all the time because of the quality of the sound, and the comfort they provide. If you are in the market for a GREAT gaming headset these absolutely deserve your consideration. Highly recommended.

After testing the Turtle Beach - Elite Pro 2 Wired Gaming Headset for a few weeks I genuinely love some of the things about this headset that other manufacturers could take note of: • They’re super-comfortable, even after extended use • The controls on the headset are easy to use • The “glasses” design in the headset help with the comfort—not just a gimmick! • It includes an optical cable!!! • The sound is terrific, and I’m told the mic is very clear I tried them on both my computer and my PS4—it’s honestly a bit better set-up for my computer, as my PS4 is in my living room and my couch is kind of far away. I have to sit closer than I want if I want to use the wired amp (which is recommended, sounds better, and requires the optical cable), and I have to be extra careful with the cords. They can also be used as a straight headset plugged right into the controller, and still sound good, just not AS good. The PC set-up is a bit easier to work with the wires (they’re very long for a PC, but not quite long enough for a couch 10-feet away from the TV) and the sound there is also very good. You can switch between the modes easy enough with the app, but the app can take a bit to figure out. The AMP also has controls on it, though, again, they’re easier to use with the PC and the AMP sitting right in front of you than with the PS4 and it sitting somewhere between you and the TV. The glasses comfort design of the headset actually works and helps ease the usual pain caused by wearing headphones for an extended period of time over glasses—it’s now one of my favorite features on any headset! It’s also pretty important on these as they’re fairly heavy. The other nice feature is the "cooling" cup design--it genuinely works as well--my ears did not get noticeably hot or sweaty at any time while using these. The biggest drawback to these, by far, is all the cords that are required for the best sound. They're pretty much not an option in my living room as between my dog and my kids someone is going to rip out a wire somewhere, and possibly cause some serious damage to something. If you don't mind the wires (or are using them with a PC where wires typically aren't a big deal) then these are some fantastic sounding, very comfortable headphones…

If you are a serious gamer or just love to have top of the line equipment for your gaming, you need to look into getting these Turtle Beach Elite Pro 2. I enjoy gaming, but my son is a fanatic, so we both provided feedback for this item. To begin with the packing is really nice, it lets you know that you are getting a nice piece of equipment. Out of the box it can look a little intimidating, but if you take the time to follow the directions it really isn't difficult to setup at all.My son wears glasses and was really looking forward to him enjoying the ear cushions and boy did he ever. He said by far they are the best ear cushions he has ever had with his glasses. In retrospect this feature may be bad as he will be gaming longer than he needs to be. My problem with previous headsets is that they would get hot and sweaty around my ears, but the Turtle Beach make a big difference in keeping them cool. To fully enjoy this headset, you need to download the Audio Hub to utilize the SuperAmp. The sound clarity that comes through these are simply mind blowing. My teenage son loves that he can stream his music and enjoys changing the color on the amp. Because I can now hear all the little sounds that I was missing on before with previous headsets I feel like my gaming has gotten better. Many people have complained about the wires, but it all depends on your setup. Our PS4 is connected in our media room, so all of the wires are actually behind us as we play. If you are really into gaming you need to have these Turtle Beach Elite Pro2, my son and I really recommend them.

This was my 1st set of headphones specifically for gaming. Amazing. I had no idea what I was missing. I'm 44 and I suck at Fortnite. I hate losing but I have a wife, 3 kids and a business to run so I don't play often and that means that after playing once in a while for 5-6 months I still suck. If I wanted to play at night after the kids were in bed, the volume was so low I couldn't hear chests, enemies, etc. which led to being shot in the back a lot. With the Turtle Beach headphones I hear everything. Seriously, everything. I can hear birds chirping in the trees. I didn't even know there were bird sounds in the game. I can tell if footsteps are coming and which direction they are coming from. Behind me on the left, in front to the right, the directional accuracy is amazing. They are so comfortable I forget they're there. The headband fits everyone in my family from me to my 4 year old. The app is simple and allows for an unnecessary number of customizations. My only complaint is the cords! They are long enough to sit comfortably on the couch about 8' from the TV but they are constantly being tripped over by 3 kids under 10 and 2 big dogs. I know that wired connections are better and I can't fault a wired device for being wired so the benefits far outweigh the inconvenience of picking up after myself. I still suck at Fortnite but now instead of getting shot in the back because I can't hear my enemies sneaking up on me, I get shot in the face like a man. I'm working on it.

Upon receiving this headset and unboxing it I was pleasantly surprised at the craftsmanship and quality. I am quite a bit of a audiophile. I love sound quality. These definitely don't disappoint. The crisp clear highs and the deep pounding bass in such a small package was pretty amazing. I am a big FPS fan so surround sound is a must. With these having the capability of literally hearing footsteps around you and knowing where and what direction as if you're in the game and can almost feel their footsteps around you is awesome. The thick soft cushioning on the ear surrounds as well as the band that goes across the top of your head makes hours of gaming both comfortable and enjoying. Turtle Beach lives up to their reputation with these once again. I can't think of one negative thing to this headset. Personal preference I like to have an internal microphone which is about the only thing I would change but the Microphone it does use picks up every word and sound. My friends complimented me on how much better this one sounded in comparison to mine and other peoples mics in the game. Would highly recommend this to others

Setup: Plug USB plug to USB outlet on PC or Playstation 4 as shown in the diagram you are given for setup. Download the app Turtle Beach Audio Hub to your phone. Start the program and it will ask you to Bluetooth the headset to your phone. Start a game on your PC or Playstation 4 or 4 Pro and adjust the settings on your phone to your desired audio preferences. Adjustments make a BIG difference in the sounds. The app comes in handy for switching between music/movie/game modes to whatever you are doing at the time and these modes are extremely important because it does make a dramatic difference in the sound. It is that simple!!! You need to make sure all jacks are securely plugged in. Features: The headset is very comfortable for those long gaming nights. I don’t believe it is noise canceling, because you can still hear most everything that is going on around you. The microphone comes completely off the headset so that you can use just the headset for listening to music, movies, etc. (I would prefer it was retractable or pushed back into the base so that I wouldn’t lose it by just randomly taking it out and laying it down somewhere, so be careful.) Playstation 4: The Playstation sounds unbelievable when you have these plugged into your gaming system. Nobody is going to sneak up on you without you knowing they are coming to get you. It picks up every sound as if you were in real life. It really gets you into the game. Recommendation: Maybe a bit pricey, but I would say the headset is well worth it just in sound alone.

This is a very comfortable gaming headset. It does not start to annoy your ears after wearing for a few hours like some other headphones I’ve tried out. Its very comfortable and soft. I really like how clear and crisp the sound is. A person running from a distance sounds like they are running from a distance. The sounds are so clear, you feel like you are actually in the game. Set-up was very easy and connection to the app was a cinch. The only thing I’m having trouble with is the sound quality when you connect through the superamp. It is supposed to enhance the sound, but it’s not doing that. The sound is actually better if I just connect directly onto my remote. The superamp does work well when I connect my phone to get calls while playing games and the call is clear on my end and the receiving person’s end. The call actually rings right into my headset which is awesome. I love that feature. I also love how you can play music while gaming. There isn’t anything I really don’t like about the headset except trying to figure out the connection through the superamp instead of on the remote. I can def live with that though. I would still recommend it.

Best sound I’ve heard out of any headphone, gaming or not. This headset really does it all. From first person shooters, to sport games, to music, all of which come through at the highest quality. You aren’t going to take these to the gym but when playing games or just relaxing on the couch, these headphones are great for it. As great as I believe this headset is, it isn’t perfect and does come with some flaws. In order to use the headset to it’s full capabilities, it has to be plugged into the “SuperAmp,” which has to be plugged into the PlayStation itself. That adds up to be a lot of cords. It just looks very cluttered and if you put your headset neatly away every time you use it, it’ll take a lot of time to set up again. (Not a bad price to pay based on the quality of these) Also, if you want to move away from the tv more than about 10 feet while using the headset to it’s full capacity, you won’t be able to. I have read that you may be able to find an extension but again, adding more cords isn’t preferred. I highly recommend these for multi-purpose use, (games, music, movies) you will not be disappointed!

Lets get to the point - there's nothing that would prompt me to spend more than $100 on a good pair of headphones. Sure, these are built like a tank and are very comfortable, but so are every other set of headphones that I have. I really just couldn't justify spending this type of money on headphones. The sound quality is great and brings games to life, but again, I can see no good reason to spend 4-5 times the amount that I would on a game for a pair of headphones that I would use to play the game. And yes, they are extremely comfortable, but so are my less expensive ones - if I am wearing headphones so long that they get comfortable, that's my body's way of saying to get up and do something other than play a game! I guess it comes down to priorities - personally, I can't justify the price tag on these, then again my priority isn't looking good at an E-sports tournament ! But for others, if price is no object, then these are probably the absolute best headphones you're going to find!

The Elite Pro 2 Wired Gaming Headset with Elite SuperAmp Bluetooth Audio Controller for PlayStation 4 is a great headset. The big difference between this headset and others is the volume of the headset. Normally most PS4 headsets are lower volume due to the game controllers not being powered enough. This headset however with the AMP is loud enough for me especially next to the other ones I have used. It is really comfortable, and it has excellent sound. The Dynamic Chat Boost™ automatically boosts incoming chat volume over game audio so I was able to communicate perfectly and clearly with the game sound still loud and clear. I was able to wear my glasses while also wearing the headset. My ears did not get hot wearing the headset. The only thing I wish is that these were wireless for the price, but otherwise I am fully satisfied. The quality is top-notch on these head phones. I would highly recommend them.
