Many of the options are great but it fails to master any of them. Sound quality is average and the headset is tight on my head. Furthermore, the pressure it has on my head hurts my ears after long periods of time. If the two week period after the purchase didn't expire I would return them now. Took about a month to realize it wasn't worth it.

I love all of the features of the headset. Only drawback for me how tight the headset fits on my head

Best Buy was not at fault with the return on this but I had to return this item because the speaker in the right ear was cracking during games and music, I understand they may have tested it but I still love their product and services.

I bought these are refurb, the mic works horrible. After researching it further... why does TB even try to sell these anymore. Bring back the 500x.

I’ve been buying Turtle Beach wireless headsets since the X4 model for Xbox 360. I enjoy FPS games and usually only use my headsets for that in multiplayer modes. When I first saw the 800X, the new/retail price didn’t scare me off at $300. I waited since I’ve been using the Stealth 500X since early 2015 for my Xbox one. The features and setup of the Elite 800X are really sleek. Out of the box, the headset and base were pristine and all of the cables were in new condition. Ease of setup was just plug and play, I didn’t have to pair the headset. The audio presets are preprogrammed on one button. The 500X had high and low settings. The noise cancellation works pretty well but definitely not “top notch”. Sound is good and the mic seems to work well as the party doesn’t seem to complain about being too high or low or static. From headset to headset, Turtle Beach just fits to my liking. I’ve tried other brands and just can’t seem to leave the Turtle Beach brand. I’ve compared the 500X to the 800X with the following games on a GoW4 – 2TB S console; Gears of War 4, CoD Infinite Warfare, Remastered, Deus Ex: Mankind Divided, and Resident Evil 7. What I didn’t like about the 800X pair are the synthetic leather ear phones and how tight the headset felt. I’d like to say I have a round – average sized head. I still use my 500X over the 800X BUT I’m on my second 500X pair as the previous pair died (battery, sound, and connection) after 18 months. Both of my 500X sets were purchased new. This is my first refurbished wireless headset, so I was a little skeptical. But at the almost 60% off, I had to try it. If this was my first headset, I’d had given it 4 stars easily. But my review of the 500X was 4 stars so I couldn’t give the 800X set a 4 star rating. Great headset though and recommended to a few friends, all of which really enjoy them. PROS: Cost (refurb) at almost 60% less than new, button layout, ease of setup, noise cancellation, preset audio, responsiveness of buttons. CONS: did not replace my 500X set, sound does not compare to 500X, the synthetic leather ear muffs, compression of headphones when worn.
