I've been devoid of a good mouse for a little while now since my previous work horse bit the dust, and I've been getting by with my travel mouse for the last few months, which while it is great for when I'm short on space, it stinks for any serious amount of time spent playing or working. I was kind of surprised when I opened up the box to the Kone II Air. While the box is a decent size and should give anyone an indication of the mouse size, for some reason I had it in my head that it was a bit smaller than it actually is. It's actually one of the biggest mice I've had in years and I was a bit worried at first because I have just normal hands and I was afraid that this was going to make it a slog to use. I was wrong. The Kone II Air feels great in my hand, and all the buttons are within easy reach. I also was a bit concerned over the 'Air' moniker. I got a mouse last year to switch things up and it was an 'air' type mouse and it felt so weird that I gave it to my friends' kid. To me though, the Kone II Air is just about perfect. It's not a brick but it does have some heft to it when slinging it around on my desk. I LIKE that. I feel like it gives more feedback to me other than just watching the screen. It lets me do more stuff from 'muscle memory'. Another thing I'm really enjoying about the Kone II Air is the clickyness of the buttons. All the buttons actuate really nicely but they also give a satisfying click. Supposedly these switches are rated for hundreds of millions of clicks, so I should be good for a week or two! The Turtle Beach Swarm II software is really good too, though it is only for Windows computers at this time. It installed quickly and easily and gives you all the needed setting on one scrollable page. Within a couple of minutes, I had my DPI markers set, new firmware downloaded, and my LED preferences locked in (which is OFF, for me - though I did keep the occasional light that shows battery level). There is only really one thing about the Turtle Beach Kone II Air that I'm NOT thrilled about, but it is in no way a deal breaker, the mouse wheel. While I dig that I can switch back and forth between steps and an infinite fast scroll, here the clickyness of the wheel is a bit of a turn off. It has such hard stops that it feels a bit jarring. I'm sure I'll get used to it, but since that is the mode I most often use, it has just been sticking out to me a bit more. Oh, and one more thing I like, the dual wireless connection protocols. Bluetooth is great for day-to-day work, and it gives the Kone II Air a great battery life of 350 hours (which BTW, I'm nowhere near hitting yet), but when clicks REALLY matter the USB dongle and the 2.4 GHz channel are the way to go. Absolutely ZERO lag. While it cuts into battery time, for me it is worth it since I have just about had it with flaky BT connected mice. All-in-all I'm super happy with the Turtle Beach Kone II Air. It's got a great feel in the hand despite being bigger than many mice, and it is super responsive. It may not be the cheapest mouse out there, but you get what you pay for with the Kone II Air.

After spending a considerable amount of time using the Turtle Beach Kone II Air, It surprised me in more ways than one. I wasn’t sure what to expect with this mouse, having never used a Turtle Beach mouse. After using it daily for both gaming and productivity, I can safely say this is one of the most versatile and thoughtfully designed mice I’ve tested in a while. It’s not without its quirks, but for anyone who wants a wireless gaming mouse that gives you comfort, customization, and battery life, the Kone II Air really delivers. Whether I was diving into fast-paced FPS matches, navigating spreadsheets for my data work, or just scrolling a web page, this mouse performs beautifully. *Design & Build Quality* First thing you notice when you take the Kone II Air out of the box is its size and feel. This mouse is not small. If you’ve got medium to large hands, it’s going to feel great. I typically use a claw grip, and it fit perfectly. It feels like it's a little wider at the top than typical gaming mice. The back of the mouse has a comfortable shape that really supports your hand over long sessions. It’s got a matte finish that looks clean but does pick up a few fingerprints. That doesn’t bother me much, but worth noting if the prints aggravate you. The sides are slightly textured, and Turtle Beach even includes 2 grip tapes that you can stick on. I used both, and they do a great job of keeping the mouse from slipping during intense gameplay. Build quality overall is solid. Nothing feels cheap or loose. The scroll wheel is smooth and the buttons have a really satisfying click. The RGB is there but it's not overwhelming. It's mostly on the scroll wheel and two LED strips across the top. The mouse weighs a little more than your typical mouse, over 100 grams, which is definitely heavier than ultra-light mice. It’s not ideal for fast twitch shooters if you're into flicks and speed, but it’s actually really well-balanced. Once I got used to the weight, it didn’t slow me down at all especially with how well it glides. *Setup* Setup is simple. You have three ways to connect: Bluetooth, 2.4GHz wireless (USB dongle), or wired with the USB-C cable. I went straight to the 2.4GHz mode for gaming, and it paired instantly. No drivers needed just to get started, but you’ll want the software to unlock all the customizations. Charging is done through USB-C, and the included cable is flexible and high quality. It’s also long enough that you can keep playing while charging without it feeling clunky. The dongle can be stored inside the mouse itself, right near the battery. That’s a little detail, but really helpful if you ever travel with it. *Performance* This is where the Kone II Air really surprised me. Performance-wise, it's great for a variety of gaming styles, but it can also get you through productivity or schoolwork. The sensor uses Turtle Beach’s Owl-Eye 26K DPI optical sensor, and it feels accurate. I set up multiple DPI levels (I usually toggle between 800, 1200, and 1600 depending on the game), and every movement felt smooth and clean. It will even help choose your ideal DPI level. There wasn't any rapid acceleration or odd tracking. It dealt with turns and rushes on my fps games well. The polling rate is 1000Hz, which is standard for high-end mice, and I never noticed any lag or weird delay, even in frantic gaming situations.. The mouse also supports NVIDIA Reflex, which helps reduce input latency even more. When I clicked, it felt like I was getting an instant response. The TITAN Optical switches also deliver. These aren’t your average mouse switches, they’re optical, so they respond faster and last longer than most. I found the left and right buttons super responsive without feeling too sensitive. And they’ve got a nice, solid click. The 4D scroll wheel is clickable in four directions up, down, left, and right and you can remap all of that. It's super handy for switching weapons, using macros, or even scrolling horizontally any kind of software. It also has a free-spin mode for when you need to move through a long document or scroll quickly to the bottom of a web page. Battery life is top tier. On Bluetooth, Turtle Beach says it’ll last up to 350 hours and I believe it. I used it for a full week on wireless 2.4GHz, and I still had over 70% left. On 2.4GHz, it’s rated for 130 hours, which is more than enough for most people. You’ve got 11 programmable buttons, and if you use the Easy Shift function, you can get up to 21 functions mapped to one mouse. That will work well for MMOs, strategy games, or FPS games. You might also find uses in daily productivity work for Copy/Paste/Etc...If you’re used to ultra-light mice, this one does take some adjusting. I would say it's better for precise, methodical movements rather than quick ones. Turtle Beach Swarm 2 Software The Swarm 2 software offers a ton of customization options. It’s clean, pretty easy to use, and really powerful. You can adjust just about everything: DPI levels, polling rate, lift-off distance, debounce time, RGB effects, angle snapping, and even surface calibration. The Easy-Shift[+] is one of my favorite features. You assign a “shift” button (I picked the side thumb button), and then every other button gets a secondary function. Swarm 2 also lets you sync lighting between other Turtle Beach devices if you’re into that. And once you dial in your settings, you can save them to profiles that load automatically based on the game or app. I didn't experience any bugs or crashes with the software. Pros & Cons *Pros* Good shape for palm and claw grips Battery Life is great as expected (130h wireless / 350h Bluetooth) 26K DPI sensor Titan optical switches feel snappy and durable 4D scroll wheel with Mappable inputs Good wireless performance and NVIDIA Reflex support Software loaded with customization options Grip tape included *Cons* Heavier than ultra-light mice (not ideal for competitive FPS) No small hands Fingerprints will add up Amount of customization is overwhelming but it's good for those who want comprehensive customization features Conclusion After using the Turtle Beach Kone II Air every day for both work and play, I can confidently say this is one of the best wireless gaming mice out there. It does well in almost every area. The ergonomics are top-tier, the performance is consistent, and the software gives you room to fine-tune everything exactly how you like it. I’d recommend this mouse to almost anyone unless you’re a hardcore FPS-only player who needs something lighter or you have small hands. For me? It’s become my daily driver.

    A fantastic gaming mouse

Right from the start, I was incredibly impressed with the Kone II Air mouse. The packaging for it is easily identifiable and details of the mouse are included. The mouse comes with grip tape, a quick start guide, a 2.4Ghz wireless USB receiver and USB-A adapter, and a USB-C to USB-A charging cable. Even though the Kone II Air came in a pretty package, it really impresses with its performance. So far, the battery life is what I expected it to be. Build Quality The build quality is solid. It’s very lightweight but doesn’t feel cheap. The material has a matte finish, but doesn’t seem to retain fingerprints or oils from hands easily. The wheel turns easily and it’s easy to reach all the buttons on it without straining my hand or fingers. I like the placement of the RGB effects. There are a lot of mice that have RGB lighting, but the placement is such that you can’t see it if you are using it. The mouse seems durable and it’s very comfortable to use. Ergonomics & Comfort The mouse is definitely designed for right-handed users. It does, however, support palm, claw, or fingertip grips well (I tried all three). It seems to be well-suited for long gaming sessions. I played for a couple of hours and didn’t notice any major strain on my hand. It’s a medium to large sized mouse and it’s shape is conducive to standard use as well as gaming. It does not have a place to add additional weight to it. Connectivity & Compatibility The Kone II Air can be connected through Bluetooth, 2.4Ghz dongle, or wired through a USB-C connection. It connected quickly and effortlessly using any of the options. I used it with my PC Gaming Laptop as well as a secondary laptop and even a tablet. The USB receiver can be stored underneath the mouse, which is perfect for traveling. Gaming Performance The mouse has been incredibly responsive. I love the way the buttons feel and I haven’t experienced any lag with it. There was very minimal lift off distance and button input was snappy. The polling rate of this mouse is 1000Hz and I could definitely tell when I was gaming. The scroll wheel gives you the option of free-spin or notched scrolling. The wheel does tilt and it acts as a button, too. You can also change the DPI at will while using the mouse. This has helped me immensely as I game and just use the mouse in general. Software The Turtle Beach Swarm II software is easy to install and simple to use. Everything is on one scrollable page, and it walked me through a quick update for both the mouse and receiver right after setup. Within a few minutes, I had my DPI levels set, firmware updated, and RGB lighting turned off (except for the battery indicator, which I kept on). You can adjust just about everything—DPI, polling rate, lift-off distance, debounce time, angle snapping, and more. One feature I really like is Easy-Shift[+], which lets you assign a shift button to unlock secondary functions for the rest of the buttons. It also supports automatic profile switching and RGB syncing with other Turtle Beach devices. I didn’t run into any bugs or issues while using it. Overall, the Kone II Air is a fantastic wireless gaming mouse that checks all the right boxes. It’s lightweight, comfortable, and packed with features that actually make a difference whether you’re gaming or just getting things done. The multiple connectivity options, solid build, responsive buttons, and customizable software all come together to deliver a premium experience. If you’re looking for a reliable, ergonomic mouse with excellent performance and customization, the Kone II Air is absolutely worth considering.

Great mouse for those with larger hands. The Kona II Air Wireless mouse is a great mouse in my hands. It feels better, and more substantial than most modern “gaming” mice, which mostly try to be lighter weight. For me, I prefer a heavier weight mouse. I use my mice for more than just gaming, I use it for work too, and this just works fantastic on that level as well. It feels great to work on for long periods for my larger sized hands. This mouse can be used with an included USB 2.4hz dongle or bluetooth connection. There is a compartment on the bottom of the mouse to hold that dongle so you don’t lose it while possibly on the go. I had no problems using it for gaming or productivity either on bluetooth or on the dongle. I have 2 computers I use this mouse with, so I leave the dongle on one computer, and have it paired via bluetooth on the other. When I move machines, the bottom of the mouse has a switch to change which mode to choose. Setting up some of the customization features on the mouse, like most other gaming mice, requires you download and install Turtle Beach’s Swarm software. Luckily this software is not heavy on RAM and CPU use like another popular high end gaming mouse software is. You don’t really feel this software running in the background at all. Firmware update out of the box is done thru this software too. All your other setups and customizations on the mouse are done thru here too, including the RGB lights on the mouse. This mouse has 12 mouse buttons, and one of them is an “easy shift” button, allowing you to hold that button down and activate other functions on some of your other buttons. This I think is awesome, as it allows me to then take some buttons and do things like quickly control audio volume via the scroll wheel up / down for example. Overall, I think this is a great mouse for those that have a bit larger than average hands, and this might be very subjective, but actually appreciate a heavier mouse like me. The only downside, and it isn’t a huge thing for me, is that the black plastic on this mouse is very fingerprint prone.

    Good, if bulky, mouse

I've had more gaming mice than I can even consider at this point. It takes a LOT for one to stand out in this market as there's just so many, even among the major vendors, to choose from. Many times it comes down to aesthetics or just being part of an ecosystem that you already own, or compatible with the lighting system your machine and peripherals are already using. Fortunately there's been more interoperability in recent years that it becomes less of a thing to struggle to sync all of those things. Packaging: To start, the packaging is pretty straightforward, box, a little foam to protect the mouse, a wire, a quickstart guide and the wireless dongle. The box is high quality and the mouse is well contained, but no real frills, but none are needed. Installation: Again, straightforward, it's a mouse. If you dont want to install the Turtle Beach Swarm II software you dont have to in order to use it, you just wont be able to modify the profiles on the mouse. You can change the DPI settings between the default predefined ones even without it, if needed. Installing the Swarm II software is a simple thing though, and gives you access to modify the base profiles and set up macros, and even modify your mouse using the side button to give you additional functionality in the mouse aside from just the base number of buttons. Neat feature, though I'm not sure who it is aimed at unless it's like heavy MMO player or Fortnite players. One last note about the installation, you update the firmware here and it requires both the mouse dongle to be plugged in and the mouse to be plugged in via a wire, so just be ready for that, seems slightly annoying that it needs both, even if both firmwares need to be updated, I would imagine you could do them one at a time rather than needing to take up two USB ports to do it, I had to crawl under my desk to get to a second port to get that done. Usage: DPI settings move swiftly and are easily modified in the Swarm II application. The macros stand out simply and can be set per-game, so that's pretty cool. I dont love the lighting system, as cool as having a lighting system is, it does not seem to be integrated into any of the larger lighting system ecosystems, which is super annoying (though other turtle beach stuff will show up in the Swarm II app if compatible), so any color matching would have to be manually done. The scroll wheel feels a little slow, but that can be modified. The mouse itself is responsive, and the optical switches are good, it would just remain to be seen how long they last. The one thing I dont love is that the mouse is somewhat bulky, even among gaming mice it's kinda hefty, but this is personal preference. Overall: Very customizable, very well made mouse with lots of options. I would strongly recommend it if you're in the market and arent invested in a single vendor ecosystem.

The Turtle Beach Kone II Air wireless gaming mouse would probably satisfy literally any user. It's *loaded* with features and has great ergonomics. Although a "gaming" mouse, this will actually take over as my main home use mouse as it feels good enough for just about any use. Out of the box, it's a pretty large mouse, but still very light. It's very comfortable for me, although I'm not sure my wife would find it so with her smaller hands, and it subjectively just feels good. I didn't have any issue with grip at all, but there are two helpfully included silicone grips you can add. The buttons, with their Titan switches, click very satisfyingly, if not the most quietly. The scroll wheel has a good grip, but is a bit on the noisy side when not in the "infinite scroll" mode. (The toggle switch for that is right behind the wheel.) Behind that toggle is the quick DPI preset changes. Across the front is the USB Type-C port (a USB adapter is included) which is used for charging, or if you want to run in a wired mode. The charging cord means there's no batteries involved, which is both good and bad, depending on your usage. Your other connectivity options are 2.4Ghz (lowest latency, but worse for battery) or Bluetooth. On the bottom is a mode switch between the two, and if you're using Bluetooth, there's a handy storage bay for the 2.4Ghz wireless adapter. The adapter is pre-paired to the mouse, so setting up that way is basically effortless, but Bluetooth pairing was pleasantly painless and almost as fast. Although I do play FPS games, I tend towards playing those in single-player campaigns, along with RPGs. I'll probably typically use the Bluetooth mode going forward to take advantage of the better battery life (over 300hrs) since I do not need the absolutely lowest latency for my personal gaming usages. I also found the mouse really well-suited to more "daily driving" kinds of uses as well. It's larger than the mouse I was using previously, but it didn't cause me any issues. I also found that I didn't accidently bump into the other buttons, which is a testament to the good ergonomic design. The Easy shift button on the lower left really ups the configurability, allowing over 20 possible input combinations. Although it will work out of the box with no additional software (and there's configurability without it), the Swarm software gives you a ton more control, from button mapping to RGB control, along with essential things like software/firmware updates. Overall, it's a great device--it has everything you could want for gaming, but feels good enough for productivity use as well. I love both the aesthetics and ergonomics of it. Battery life is really good, and the multiple modes of connection lends a lot of versatility to each individual user's needs and wants.

Really well done gaming mouse. I was a bit apprehensive at first seen a Turtle beach mouse (I've know them more for their gaming headphones and game pads) but I was put at ease right away when I started using this mouse. They include all you need in the box. A 2.4Ghz wireless dongle (USB type A), a dongle adapter (Type A to type C) so you can use the included cable to extend the reach of the wireless signal (I did not, it was plenty strong when I plugged the dongle directly to one of my PC USB ports on the back), a nice and long braided Type A to C USB charging cable, some stickers with a nice grip texture (in case you feel the mouse plastic is to slippery; which I thought I would need since I have dry skin and thought I would not have a good grip, but I have not needed to use those at all) and a quick start manual guide. Setting it up was super easy, all I had to do is plug in the wireless dongle and turn on the mouse (I had some charge already) and it was working right away. The manual gives you instructions if you want to operate and configure the mouse without using their software (they call it driverless setup), which you can do. However I did download and install their "swarm 2" software to fully configure its features via it. Upon launching the software it detected an update for it and also a firmware update for both the mouse and the dongle, I let them go through. After that I was on to the races to configure it. There is lots of settings (and they are very well layered and each one has a small "?" to tell you what they are for). With it it was easy to configure the RGB lighting, DPI settings, polling settings, battery saving settings, calibrations (for your mouse mat) etc. They also support configuring each button and the very important easy shift button. With it you can enable a second layer of functions for each button (and even predefined macros, which very nicely they have a list of the most popular games out there to quickly configure). The software is very well done and does not take any resources or is bloated at all like other ones I have tried. The only con I feel is they have so many separated apps for each things (I have one apart for my turtle beach game pad controller, now another one for the mouse, I just wish the would consolidate their software in just one for all their products). Ergonomically, the mouse feels great. I was a bit apprehensive since it looked chunky compared to other mouses and I have small hands, however I was able to have a great grip on it. Its designed to accommodate several types of grips (like claw, full hand on top etc.). All the buttons feel great when clicked and not wobbly at all. The mouse glides gracefully on my mouse mat (did do a calibration). The RGB lighting is great and you can configure it too, I have it set up so it tells me the battery levels. Battery life has been great and I just plug it in at night and unplug it during the day and has worked great. Really positively surprised by the quality and features, never thought Turtle beach would make great mouses!

Newly rebranded Kone Air 2 is still a solid choice

The Turtle Beach Kone 2 Air mouse is the upgraded and rebranded version of the formerly Roccat branded Kone Air mouse. I’ve used the Roccat branded Kone mouse extensively and was already impressed with performance. I actually use and like several Roccat (soon to be Turtle Beach) peripherals. The Kone 2 ships with the mouse, grip tape, a braided nylon USB C to A charging cable, and a USB-C to A converter. It can connect via USB cable, USB receiver, or Bluetooth.   After unboxing the mouse and accessories, I downloaded and installed the Swarm 2 software to update and manage the mouse. After installation, Swarm immediately installed what it described as a mandatory update required to continue using the mouse. The update completed in roughly 30 seconds and updated both the receiver and mouse. Besides updates, the Swarm 2 app allows me to adjust lighting, assign buttons, and adjust DPI among other tasks.   The Kona 2 Air mouse has a comfortable ergonomic form factor and in hand feel. Even with a metal splint on my ring finger I can easily move and manipulate the mouse. I like the weight especially. Near weightless mice are nice, but I prefer feeling at least a tiny bit of weight for better accuracy and tactile reassurance. My fingers can easily reach and operate the scroll wheel and all buttons. Build quality feels solid and the mouse feels well-constructed and has reliable performance. All buttons function impeccably. The prominent RGB lighting accents have battery saving features such as not illuminating if the mouse remains still.   As I expected, the Air 2 works well during gaming. It has a comfortable in-hand feel during use and all switches and buttons work well. I have no issues with lag or latency even during frenetic gaming sessions. Button assignments can be set as needed through the Swarm app. The mouse glides across my mousepad with no friction or other issues. The pointer is precise and reliable for in-game aiming and target acquisition. I’ve tried both wireless connectivity methods and both worked well with stable connections throughout gaming sessions. The mouse can also be used tethered through the USB cable during charging or if simply preferred. Overall, the Kone 2 Air is a great gaming mouse with perfect weight, good glide, ample useful buttons, and even now has decorative lighting which the original Roccat Kone Air did not have.

This mouse is built for medium to large right handed gamers but is just as usable for office apps as it is for games. Its specs are top notch, the Swarm 2 app gives you total control and RGB lighting adds to its appeal. I own the Kone XP mouse and this version for the most part is an improvement over it. The mouse feels more solid and Turtle Beach has removed some of the buttons which I feel makes this mouse more usable without losing the core functions. On the downside the RGB isn’t as interesting as the Kone XP’s and they no longer include a charging stand. Pros: - Comfortable Fit and Feel with a light weight feel especially for its size - Optical switches and completely customizable functions - Bluetooth, wireless and wired functions - Includes usb adaptor, wireless dongle, usb cable and side grips Cons: - The switches make louder than normal clicks - The RGB lighting is a downgrade from the original Kone XP - No charging station Fit and Feel: For me this is just as important as the tech specs and this mouse fits my medium hand quite comfortably. It lacks a large center hump that other gaming mice have so it feels wider but it also allows your hand to be in a more level position. Normally I will alternate between palm and claw grips for various games but with this mouse due to its form I find myself mainly using a palm grip. All the buttons and scroll wheel are easy to reach and the thumb rest with the Easy Shift button creates a nice resting spot for your thumb. The surface is smooth but they include two side pads to add a rubbery surface to the sides to improve your grip. Performance: While you can configure the mouse locally I highly recommend using Turtle Beach’s Swarm 2 app instead. In the app you can select from a list of preconfigured Macros for some of the most popular games, you can set up to 5 DPI presets, set the polling rate, configure the button functionality and select the RBG lighting colors and patterns. Lastly you can store up to 5 profiles in the mouse for fast and easy reconfigurations. Bottom line is using Swarm 2 you can configure this mouse to meet every imaginable need to be a great gaming mouse or an every day office mouse.

The Turtle Beach Kone II Air is a solid wireless mouse that strikes a nice balance between comfort, performance, and customization. Even on a bare desk surface, the movement is smooth and consistent thanks to the PTFE glides on the underside of the mouse. There's no scraping or resistance, just clean tracking that works well for both everyday tasks and more precise moments, like in games or in design software. Aesthetically, the Kone II Air keeps things modern with the dual-zone RGB lighting that is synonymous with PC gaming peripherals nowadays. These LED colors, as well as polling rate, lift-off distance, and debounce can be customized by enabling the config mode via a button sequence. Additionally, the shortcuts/macros via the Easy-Shift button, LED's, and other settings can also be customized through the SWARM II software in Windows. This mouse is designed with ergonomics in mind. It is shaped well to fit comfortably in the hand and the included grip tape adds some needed friction to the sides. The mouse has a slightly weighted feel which gives it a solid presence during use without feeling sluggish. The scroll wheel deserves a mention as well: it’s smooth, spins freely, and doesn’t have the notched resistance that many wheels do. One of the more useful features is its dual connectivity. The ability to switch between Bluetooth and 2.4GHz wireless with the switch on the underside of the mouse makes it flexible for different setups. I’ve mostly stuck with 2.4GHz for the low latency, and it’s been solid with no noticeable input lag or connection drops. Overall, the Kone II Air functions really well out-of-the-box plug-and-play vanilla style, and can also accommodate the power users who want full control of their mouse and its additional features. It's comfortable, reliable, and customizable without being overcomplicated. If you're looking for a capable wireless mouse with a bit of flair and flexibility, it’s definitely worth considering.

It's been a long time since i have been using only a wired gaming mouse but i really love using this Turtle Beach Kone II air when i am on the go or just want to be mobile around the house. I have paired it with my Gaming Laptop and had a great time either Playing Video Games or Editing/doing other productive stuff! The size of the mouse it's perfect for my rather large hand i can comfortable claw this thing and be super accurate with it when playing CounterStrike or other shooting games. It also glides like a knife thru butter on any surface. The looks and built quality are premium for a great price and i was really impressed with the ergonomics and the fact that they included 2 side stickers for added grip. With 7 physical buttons and 21 actual inputs this mouse can do it all and the customizable RGB lights really upgrades the gaming feeling. I also love the free spin 4d scroll wheel, i like the click feel of it when reading and going thru the line and the fact that with a press of a button i can quickly skip to where i want. Connection and Software have been always great and stable, finding myself using it in Bluetooth mode for added hours of usage. But occasionally i switch to wi-fi while i play video-games. Both connections are satisfying, probably given the fact that this Mouse it is Nvidia Reflex compatible, either way i found it very stylish and easy to use. Very comfortable for my hand and productive!

TLDR: The Kone 2 Air is a well, made gaming mouse made for folks with larger hands. It supports optical switches rated at 100M clicks, 26k DPI Optical Sensor, fully programmable buttons and scroll wheel, along with multiple profile options. PROS Fits medium to large hands 26000 DPI Optical Sensor Titan Optical Switches rated at 100M clicks Numerous customization options CONS Smaller hands will find it unwieldly Heavy USE The Turtle Beach Kone 2 Air fully bucks the current trend of producing the smallest, lightest gaming mouse on the market. Finally, a mouse with some heft that doesn’t feel like a kid’s toy in your hand. Like I said in my TLDR section. The Kone 2 makes a 180 degree turn from trying to design the lightest gaming mouse on the market. It absolutely dwarfs my mice from the competition, looking massive when compared side by side. It is big and heavy, and I like it. My hands aren’t the biggest out there, but even I find the small gaming mice cumbersome. Too small. The Kone 2 has some heft and doesn’t hide it. Sporting a 26000-dpi optical sensor and Turtle Beach’s Titan Optical Sensors rated at 100,000,000 clicks, the Kone 2 is built to last. Unlike my other small gaming mice, the Kone 2 has some dampening built into the optical switches. Honestly, I was quite surprised when I first clicked it. I was expecting a solid click and instead got a muted, well-dampened, satisfying click. A gaming mouse that is finally quiet. Wow! It is TOTALLY different than all the other gaming mice I’ve reviewed to date. SOFTWARE The Kone 2 is controlled and customized by the Turtle Beach Swarm software. Formally known as the Roccat Swarm software. It has undergone a thorough revision since I last installed and used it. Compared to the competition, the software feels spartan and minimalistic. That’s a good thing. All options to customize and control the mouse and its dongle are EXTREMELY easy to figure out. The Swarm software redesign is a huge upgrade over the previous Roccat Swarm software. I hope all other manufacturers buy a Kone 2 and install the Swarm software. No “modules” to download. No bloat. No frills. Straight and to the point. Simple, easy. Not to mention, the total download size was roughly 85MB. No 500+ MB files from Turtle Beach. SWEET!!! The Turtle Beach Swarm software is now my favorite software for peripherals. I’ve got mice and keyboards from nearly every manufacturer and this software is the best. FINAL THOUGHTS I like the Kone 2 way more than I ever thought I would. I’ve complained numerous times before about the ever-shrinking mouse issue and Turtle Beach listened. They put out a product that is heavy and feels solid. No more cheap feeling plastics to save weight. There are no weights to add or remove, the Kone 2 doesn’t need it. It seems to be built like a tank. I do wish it had some additional texturing or rubber-like material on the sides to make it grippier in the hand, but I can overlook it. Every button is fully customizable, as is the scroll wheel. It is a well-thought-out and designed product. If you are like me and longed for a mouse that doesn’t feel like a cheap kid’s toy, the Kone 2 Air deserves a look. RECOMMENDED

Now I know this mouse is designed for gamers and although I do play on occasion I would not classify myself as hard-core. For the games I do play I love the features of this mouse have been a plus! First, I love the style and it looks really cool. The ability to customize the lighting is quite extensive. There are five default profiles but you can always create your own. There are also default lighting effects one of which keeps me aware of the battery level. It will change from green to yellow to red to alert you to charge your mouse. One of the most useful features for both gamers and non-gamers is the ability to program buttons on the mouse. On a Windows device I have the ability to have one button access to both OS and Windows functions not to mention direct access to applications and customizations. The desktop software, Swarm II is easy to use and makes modifying the mouse setting simple and straight forward. With all the features and cool lights, I do find that I charge my mouse a bit more than in the past. No real issue since I have the lights to let me know when it's getting low. Hook it up at the end of the day and it is ready to go in short order.

I've always been a fan of the Roccat keyboards and mice. I've tried all, or at least most, of the major brands and I prefer the Vulcan and Kone keyboards and mice. When Turtle Beach purchase Roccat I had concerns that there might some products discontinued but those concerns have been put to rest. Turtle Beach is gaming focused and very popular with in the console headsets space but now the added keyboards and mice really shore up their gaming presence. I have several wired gaming mice from Turtle Beach/Roccat. I have 3 gaming PCs I jump between and all have Vulcan keyboards and Kone mice. I was excited to try the Kone II Air to add to my arsenal. The Kone II Air can connect by Bluetooth or 23.4GHz with the provided dongle making it very easy for me to jump from PC to PC and use the Air. The included braided cable is for charging only which is a bit of a disappointment. I like having the cable backup if I'm playing and the battery runs low, however the published battery life, 350 hours in Bluetooth mode or 130 hours when using it with the 2.4GHz dongle, is more than adequate to last me a couple of weeks without charging. One of the little things that I do really love is a place to stow the 2.4GHz dongle on the bottom of the mouse, making it less likely to lose the dongle when in Bluetooth mode or stowed away. Not all gaming mice have that... I've got a small box of dongles that I have to try to pair up with mice when I want to use them. I absolutely love the larger frame. I have large hands so the form is a perfect fit for me. All the buttons are in easy reach and are programable (up to 21 functions) with the Turtle Beach Swarm software. With optical switches you gain operation speed and tactile feedback. The scroll wheel beside the traditional scroll up and down also features left and right tilt. I've seen this on business or general use mice but not on gaming mice. The glides offer super smooth sliding across your desk or desk pad. The included optional grip strips are provided if you like the rubberized feel If you are into RGB then you won't be disappointed. The Swarm software will let you configure the lights with 2 zones. Adding the Kone II Air was a great move on my part especially since I was already invested into the Turtle Beach (Roccat) world and it seamlessly took the place of my wired Kone.

Wow! I love this mouse! Despite owning multiple mice proclaimed to be high end gaming mice, this mouse is far higher quality and has so much more customizability. Straight out of the box, the dongle plugged in and the mouse worked like one expects from a USB mouse. Once the software is installed, the custom features emerge. There tons of lighting effects, both for fun and functionality. The light colors can indicate battery charge status, DPI, and random other details. Of course, the lights also look nice and can be programmed for fun too. The software also allows customization of the button functions and fine details of the mouse characteristics. The software is simple to use. Most importantly, the mouse itself is so comfortable to hold and use. I have bigger hands, and it fills my hand perfectly. My fingers rest comfortably. Buttons and the scroll wheel are precisely where I believe they should be. Clicks and movement are so smooth. I love the pads on the bottom that allow such smooth movements. Who knows how long they will last, but they are amazing for now. I prefer to use mice without a mouse pad, so the mouse sits directly on my desk, which has a dark cherry wood finish. It has no issues with tracking. Last, but not least, the charging cable is USB-C and it plugs into the front center of the mouse. This is wonderful because it basically just turns it into a wired mouse when charging. It is much better than having a dock that takes the mouse out of service when the battery is dead. I can’t accurately comment on battery life because the battery lasts for a long time. Based on the manual, I am estimating that it will probably need a charge every few weeks with the LED’s on, and maybe once per month, or less, with the lights off. Of course, actual time will vary depending on usage. I highly recommend this mouse, especially to people with bigger hands, like me. It is really comfortable, and it looks and functions much better than the gaming mouse it is replacing.

The Turtle Beach Kone II Air is a lightweight wireless mouse with almost everything I could ask for. I like the big buttons and high arching shape. I play The Division 2, Battlefield 2042, Star Trek Online, and other “slower” games that my son has described as “dad games”. I use a lazy palm grip on it, and I’ve found it comfortable for my extended adventures shooting baddies. When taking the mouse out of the package, I was less than impressed to find a foam cutout holding the mouse – bad form on TB. The sides of the mouse were quite slick, and I thought it seemed like a major oversight until I looked in the black package at the bottom of the box and found some nice grip tape stickers that are shaped for the sides of the mouse. After applying these, the mouse grip has a good feel, slick enough to not stick, but not enough to lose control of the mouse. DONT FORGET THE GRIP TAPE!! The charge cord has a wonderful loose jacket that makes it extremely flexible, it is light enough to play plugged in without feeling like you have to guide the cable around by the front of the mouse. I want more of these cables :) I have noticed a small delay when grabbing the mouse and moving it after it has gone into it’s sleep mode, but this will probably never be an issue when I’m actually using it. I also found what feels right now like odd behavior when lifting and moving the mouse in game – it will keep tracking on my Cordura mouse pad after I’ve lifted it. I am slowly getting used to the lift-off distance, but it seems a bit high, at least with this mouse pad, perhaps since it has a reflective surface? The buttons all have a satisfying click, none too light nor too stiff. The thumb button, which comes defaulted to the “Easy Shift” function which can be customized to change the buttons functions while the key is depressed. This is a great idea, but I’m too clumsy to keep all those functions in my head, so I mapped it to my PTT via Swarm II and it’s been a boon. The scroll wheel can unlock with the button directly below it and has a weighted wheel that allows free scrolling or zooming while in game. When the scroll wheel is in its standard setting the detents have a plasticky feel, there should be a better feel on the scroll mechanism, but it works well enough. Battery life has been stellar; I charged it once when I took it out of the box for about 18 hours. I have the RGB active, and I’ve played for more than 30 hours and the battery still shows close to full, I should get weeks of use on one charge if this battery life holds up. The good news is that the battery will last even longer after being cycled a few times. This is a substantial improvement over my other wireless mouse that uses a rechargeable AA Li-Ion. This mouse weighs at least half of what that mouse weighs and the battery on that one will last 2 days at most. The Swarm II software is simple, intuitive, and pretty self-explanatory. They have nice question marks in the settings area that tell you what you are adjusting. Adjustable debounce time for the buttons is very nice, I have not had to adjust it, but if I have too much coffee before a match, maybe that will come in useful one day. You can set your RGB in here to the lovely AIMO (best looking RGB pattern around IMHO) and other customizable patterns including the helpful battery life setting. The mouse has not gotten out of green yet, so I just must assume it will change colors eventually. Overall, the Turtle Beach Kone Air II is a solid gaming mouse great for anything but the most flick intensive twitch games – recommended :)

Carries on the tradition of quality peripherals

Ive been using Turtle Beach products since way back when they put out the Santa Cruz sound card, which I thoroughly loved and used for a really long time over the on-board sound that came with my motherboards. Since then Ive used their headsets, their mice, their keyboards, and anything else I can find with their name on them - all of them have been quality manufactured and have last a long time. This mouse appears to be following that tradition , although I haven't had it nearly long enough to say that it will last a long time - only time can tell with that! The RGB lighting can be controlled via software, but to be honest, I rather like the lighting scheme that is the out-of-the-box default. The mouse operates via bluetooth, wireless dongle, or via wire (the same wire you use to charge it). I've not let it go past a week of use without charging it, but I see no reason that it won't make the multi-week battery life that is advertised. The mouse is a little small-ish compared to many other mice I've used, but then again that actually makes it a little more comfortable instead of feeling like I'm holding a mini-football in my hand. Althought I feel the "clickiness" of the mouse's buttons rather pleasant, others who have used my computer have noted that it was a little loud for them - either their own though! This mouse has found a permanent home on one of my many computers - may it live a long life as my other Turtle Beach products have!

As the title states, I am not a gamer, but wanted a solid mouse for the days that I work from home My requirements were pretty simple - 1) it needed to have a track wheel 2) have a solid construction (most mice now are cheap and light) 3) have multipe ways to connect This one hit on all marks Unboxing was super simple, but remember to take the protective film off of the pads on the bottom to get an effortless slide It connects through either bluetooth or wifi / dongle I chose the dongle due to the lack of lag, and I had an extra USB available on my docking station The instructions are pretty weak, but hey, it is just a mouse install With the dongle, connection was immediate and responsive. I did not check for updates, but it worked just fine out of the box. Maybe at a later date I will check for driver updates The only thing that you do need to do before you start is to give it a full charge. They supply a sturdy USB to USB charging cord, and the port is hidden just below the buttons. Th unit lights up to show it is charging and go off when fully done. I left it on a few hours and came back to a fully charged mouse Overall a sturdy and highly functional mouse

Using the Turtle Beach Kone II Air I am impressed by its quality. The size and shape of the mouse fits my hand perfectly, the wireless connection has no noticeable delay at all, and the battery life is so long that it's not an inconvenience to charge the mouse at all. The 1000 Hz poll rate isn't quite as high as some competing models, but frankly I don't see that being an issue given the diminishing returns of higher poll rates anyway. The buttons all have satisfying clicks and reports when pressed. Having a thumb modifier key for quickly changing volume or skipping videos/tracks is a must in my opinion, I don't think I'd ever be happy going back to not having one. The scroll wheel can click left and right and unlock entirely, which is wonderful for quickly traversing long pages or spreadsheets, and each of these buttons can be configured with the Swarm 2 software. The aforementioned thumb modifier button gives each of these buttons a second use, so you'll never run out of convenient places to hotkey! The Swarm 2 software is a direct upgrade from the older ROCCAT Swarm application and is much easier to use and set up. In practically every way, the Turtle Beach Kone II Air has been a direct upgrade over my previous gaming mouse.

Overall this is one of the better wireless mouses I've I used. Is it the best, no. But is right up there in the top three and I am rather happy with it. It's got a nice, solid feel in the hand and to me that is important feature. It has a good feel and that lends itself to reduced hand fatigue and that is a good thing when you are using it for several hours at a stretch. The wireless connection is solid over Bluetooth and I've no issues that I've had with devices from other manufactures with lost or interrupted connections. It's been so reliable enough that it now resides in my carry bag to travel with me daily for use for more than just gaming. just doing everyday kind of work. The customization software means I can truly make this my own for how I like to use it. This has proven rather handy for more than just gaming and helps make my work day a tad bit easier. The trackwheel is very nice feeling and consistent in how it operates whether gaming or huge spreadsheets. I really like it when a solid piece of hardware like this mouse can serve two purposes. A great gaming experience while proving helpful during the work day. Overall an excellent choice for those looking for an outstanding multipurpose mouse.
