The Turtle Beach Kone II Air is a lightweight wireless mouse with almost everything I could ask for. I like the big buttons and high arching shape.
I play The Division 2, Battlefield 2042, Star Trek Online, and other “slower” games that my son has described as “dad games”. I use a lazy palm grip on it, and I’ve found it comfortable for my extended adventures shooting baddies.
When taking the mouse out of the package, I was less than impressed to find a foam cutout holding the mouse – bad form on TB. The sides of the mouse were quite slick, and I thought it seemed like a major oversight until I looked in the black package at the bottom of the box and found some nice grip tape stickers that are shaped for the sides of the mouse. After applying these, the mouse grip has a good feel, slick enough to not stick, but not enough to lose control of the mouse. DONT FORGET THE GRIP TAPE!! The charge cord has a wonderful loose jacket that makes it extremely flexible, it is light enough to play plugged in without feeling like you have to guide the cable around by the front of the mouse. I want more of these cables :)
I have noticed a small delay when grabbing the mouse and moving it after it has gone into it’s sleep mode, but this will probably never be an issue when I’m actually using it. I also found what feels right now like odd behavior when lifting and moving the mouse in game – it will keep tracking on my Cordura mouse pad after I’ve lifted it. I am slowly getting used to the lift-off distance, but it seems a bit high, at least with this mouse pad, perhaps since it has a reflective surface?
The buttons all have a satisfying click, none too light nor too stiff. The thumb button, which comes defaulted to the “Easy Shift” function which can be customized to change the buttons functions while the key is depressed. This is a great idea, but I’m too clumsy to keep all those functions in my head, so I mapped it to my PTT via Swarm II and it’s been a boon. The scroll wheel can unlock with the button directly below it and has a weighted wheel that allows free scrolling or zooming while in game. When the scroll wheel is in its standard setting the detents have a plasticky feel, there should be a better feel on the scroll mechanism, but it works well enough.
Battery life has been stellar; I charged it once when I took it out of the box for about 18 hours. I have the RGB active, and I’ve played for more than 30 hours and the battery still shows close to full, I should get weeks of use on one charge if this battery life holds up. The good news is that the battery will last even longer after being cycled a few times. This is a substantial improvement over my other wireless mouse that uses a rechargeable AA Li-Ion. This mouse weighs at least half of what that mouse weighs and the battery on that one will last 2 days at most.
The Swarm II software is simple, intuitive, and pretty self-explanatory. They have nice question marks in the settings area that tell you what you are adjusting. Adjustable debounce time for the buttons is very nice, I have not had to adjust it, but if I have too much coffee before a match, maybe that will come in useful one day. You can set your RGB in here to the lovely AIMO (best looking RGB pattern around IMHO) and other customizable patterns including the helpful battery life setting. The mouse has not gotten out of green yet, so I just must assume it will change colors eventually.
Overall, the Turtle Beach Kone Air II is a solid gaming mouse great for anything but the most flick intensive twitch games – recommended :)

Not a gamer but wanted a performance mouse

As the title states, I am not a gamer, but wanted a solid mouse for the days that I work from home
My requirements were pretty simple - 1) it needed to have a track wheel 2) have a solid construction (most mice now are cheap and light) 3) have multipe ways to connect
This one hit on all marks
Unboxing was super simple, but remember to take the protective film off of the pads on the bottom to get an effortless slide
It connects through either bluetooth or wifi / dongle
I chose the dongle due to the lack of lag, and I had an extra USB available on my docking station
The instructions are pretty weak, but hey, it is just a mouse install
With the dongle, connection was immediate and responsive. I did not check for updates, but it worked just fine out of the box. Maybe at a later date I will check for driver updates
The only thing that you do need to do before you start is to give it a full charge. They supply a sturdy USB to USB charging cord, and the port is hidden just below the buttons. Th unit lights up to show it is charging and go off when fully done. I left it on a few hours and came back to a fully charged mouse
Overall a sturdy and highly functional mouse

Using the Turtle Beach Kone II Air I am impressed by its quality. The size and shape of the mouse fits my hand perfectly, the wireless connection has no noticeable delay at all, and the battery life is so long that it's not an inconvenience to charge the mouse at all.
The 1000 Hz poll rate isn't quite as high as some competing models, but frankly I don't see that being an issue given the diminishing returns of higher poll rates anyway. The buttons all have satisfying clicks and reports when pressed. Having a thumb modifier key for quickly changing volume or skipping videos/tracks is a must in my opinion, I don't think I'd ever be happy going back to not having one. The scroll wheel can click left and right and unlock entirely, which is wonderful for quickly traversing long pages or spreadsheets, and each of these buttons can be configured with the Swarm 2 software. The aforementioned thumb modifier button gives each of these buttons a second use, so you'll never run out of convenient places to hotkey!
The Swarm 2 software is a direct upgrade from the older ROCCAT Swarm application and is much easier to use and set up. In practically every way, the Turtle Beach Kone II Air has been a direct upgrade over my previous gaming mouse.

Moderately weighted, larger mouse

The Kone II Air Wireless is an overall good choice for gaming mouse. This is probably the 7th mouse I have, particularly was interested in it for the wireless feature along with being reported as ergonomic.
To start, set up is simple. Protective tape is on the bottom of the mouse, quickly remove and good to go. There are two options for connection either via dongle w/2.4GHz wireless or Bluetooth. The toggle to turn between these and off is on the bottom of the mouse. I went ahead and downloaded the Swarm application, which is Turtle Beach's interface. A quick firmware update occurred and was good to go.
The mouse itself is not lightweight (which is OK as this was not marketed as such), but I think I had forgotten what a normal weight mouse feels like. Once coming to terms with this, overall a firm feeling in the hand. Regarding the ergonomic shape, it is advertised as medium to larger hand size and I would lean more towards this being larger hand size. The mouse itself just feels large overall. The fit is appearing and definitely goes well with the idea of being ergonomic, not causing many unnatural movements, just larger/heavier than initial expected in my mind.
There are a decent amount of buttons which can be customized. There are the standard left/right click, scroll wheel, middle button, two left side buttons near the number and also a shift key on the bottom left thumb space. The shift allows for each button to have another function programmed that can be accessed while holding down. So, overall a decent amount of functionality without a ton of buttons available. The buttons are programmable through the application, macro available.
The biggest reason I got the application was I prefer my DPI to be near 2500, and the auto settings were more lower overall with one set higher. This was quick to adjust, having 5 programmable toggleable DPI settings. Otherwise, lighting could be adjusted, which the RGB is present but appears slightly clucky to me.
Overall, this is great larger/heavier wireless mouse than allows for ergonomic shape/grip for hours of use. There is RGB available to allow for custom lighting (as many of us laptop/PC gamers enjoy). There is functionality with the programmable buttons along with the shift button to allow for even more options and battery life seems good so far.

The Kone II air wireless mouse has been a solid performer for me. In the box comes everything you need, usb A to C cable to charge or use the mouse in wired mode. A female A to female C adaptor to use for the wireless receiver so you can bring it out from behind a desktop. And of course the Kone II air wireless mouse and optional grip tape precut to fit the contours on the mouse.
It’s a pretty standard fps mouse for the most part. It has some creature comforts though. The scroll wheel has left and right tilts which is nice for browsing zoomed in websites or images when looking for details. Or just scrolling the canvas in photoshop.
There is an extra button under where your thumb sits. You can set this to do anything you want, but it’s intended to be a “shift” key so you can assign secondary functions to the rest of the mouse buttons.
The only real negative is this mouse is quite heavy. And for some that can be an absolute dealbreaker. For me not so much. I was surprised. But mainly because I’ve been using mice specifically built to be as light as possible for the last 6 months.

Good Mid-Grade Gaming Mouse

The Turtle Beach Kone II gaming mouse is a good mid-grade gaming mouse. It's ergonomic in my medium sized hand and very light. It makes it very easy to move the mouse around. I wish it had texture though. The mouse is very slippery and sometimes slips out of my hand. Turtle Beach provided some strips to add where you'd like to add grip but I'd rather the mouse just have rubber texture built into the sides. You really need to download the Swarm app to get the most effects and use out of the mouse. There are some setting you can do without the app but it's just easier with it. I like the different color options and where the color is on the mouse. It's more colorful than my pro gaming mouse. I love the provided cloth wrapped cord. It's very flexible and easily lays where ever you want without causing drag.
I didn't notice any latency playing games. I mostly used the extra buttons for video editing. It was easy to set the custom actions and greatly increased productivity. It has a satisfying click with the tactile optical switches. It's very smooth gliding over the mouse pad. I would recommend this to someone looking for a little upgrade from a regular mouse.

Overall this is one of the better wireless mouses I've I used. Is it the best, no. But is right up there in the top three and I am rather happy with it.
It's got a nice, solid feel in the hand and to me that is important feature. It has a good feel and that lends itself to reduced hand fatigue and that is a good thing when you are using it for several hours at a stretch. The wireless connection is solid over Bluetooth and I've no issues that I've had with devices from other manufactures with lost or interrupted connections. It's been so reliable enough that it now resides in my carry bag to travel with me daily for use for more than just gaming.
just doing everyday kind of work.
The customization software means I can truly make this my own for how I like to use it. This has proven rather handy for more than just gaming and helps make my work day a tad bit easier. The trackwheel is very nice feeling and consistent in how it operates whether gaming or huge spreadsheets. I really like it when a solid piece of hardware like this mouse can serve two purposes. A great gaming experience while proving helpful during the work day.
Overall an excellent choice for those looking for an outstanding multipurpose mouse.
