These headphones are very comfortable. We actually purchased this headset for our phones originally. The versatility of the headset with it's outstanding sound quality makes it a great buy. And the value for it's price certainly makes it better. The volume control and mute is conveniently located on along the wire.

I love how I can hear EVERYTHING on this headset... There were a few that were more expensive, but for the price I paid for these they are AWESOME! The earpiece goes all around my ear and does not hurt when I have my earrings nor are they tight, plus they are super lightweight... Definitey recommend them!

Very reasonably priced for a product that work. They're not winning any awards but if you need some gaming headphones with a good mic for $40, these get the job done. Totally happy with them. I'm not a fancy gamer - just play with the kids sometimes. This set did the trick.

Okay, so I had to get a new headset for my xbox one since my bose qc35 wire broke. I didn't want to spend much as my headphones were already $350. I went and got these for around $40. Quality is okay, but the results are exactly what i wanted. Sound is clear, controls and mic are great. Comfort wise it's also pretty good. I've had them for about 2 months without any issue. The cord is sturdy and overall I am happy. I'd recommend these for those who are price sensitive and want something reliable attached with a low price compared to other similar products. I do a lot of research before buying products and this one was the most reasonable for me.

It wasn't expensive at all for the quality of it! My only regret is spending money on cheap ones thinking I was saving!

Good sound for the price, doesn't block out enough noise though to emerse you in the game. But just enough to not loose focus. For a cheaper in price headset definitely worth more than it's MSRP.

Fantastic sound quality and comfort for the price point. Only negative is the ear muffs make your ears hot after an hour of use. Other than that very reliable and the detachable microphone is useful when not chatting

I bought these headphones, so I could have an extra set. My kids like to watch Netflix on my One and they tend to leave my Xbox headphones laying around. I am comparing these the Xbox headphones. The TBs sound just a bit better and I can hear more sounds over the Xones. The comfort is much better and they allow for more air movement so your ears do not sweat. I paid $40 and I feel that was a great price for the quality of the product. If you are looking for a inexpensive alternative, look no further! You will need to purchase the headphone jack adapter for the Xbox one controller to use the TBs.

Will not work on PC out of the box

These are comfortable and sound great for stereo and work well for chat. However, these were bought under duress when my son's PC gaming headset failed. The package says it works with PC and I should have been more skeptical since they are marked primarily as an Xbox One headset. I should have been more diligent before purchasing. When we got home and opened them their was only a single 3.5mm 4 pole connector. The instructions said for PC use I had to purchase a mic splitter adapter from Turtle Beach. So I did and the cost of cable with shipping plus the week wait was unacceptable. Hence one star off. Had I wrote this review as I was going thru this, I would have been less gracious. Also note, even though a xbox one headset, these do not plug into a legacy xbox one controller either. You need a newer xbox one controller with the 3.5mm jack or the headphone adapter allowing a legacy controller to use this xbox one headset. Minus another star. Again, this is imo a 5 star product with some caveats.

Good Headset for the Money

The Turtle Beach EAR FORCE Recon 50X is a great headset for the money. We all know the headsets that come with our console are of sub-par quality and definitely need an upgrade....especially when playing any FPS like Battlefield 1 or Call of Duty. The Ear Force Recon 50X is great headset that isn't going to break the bank. It doesn't have DTS or any higher end features like the Stealth 800's, but the sound is good and the headset is comfortable on the head. Plus with the boom style mic communicating with friends or teammates is easy and voice is clear...

This is the first set of Turtle Beaches I've purchased. At first, they feel like in order to fit comfortably over your ears the headband needs to rest toward the front of your head (Which feels awkward). The mic works great and being able to detach it from the headset is handy when you want to use them as wireless headphones for your TV. The main complaint I have is that they need to be plugged in to the controller. There have been numerous times that I have set my controller down to reach for something and it caused my controller to slam to the ground. I'm most likely going to trade them in for an upgrade to a wireless set solely for that reason. The sound quality is good and the volume is decent. If having a wire doesn't seem likely to bother you, this is a great deal.

Cheap and functional. I just needed a new headset that works, that I didn't have to spend too much on. This is exactly that. It will hold me until I'm ready to upgrade. It's comfortable. I just wish the volume had more range, but I have no real complaints.
