    Absolutely Awful... DON'T BUY

I bought this headset about a month ago, and just returned it today. The headset itself was comfortable and sounded good WHEN IT WORKED. I liked the design, I liked the wireless for the price points, and I liked the functions. The reason this product is an absolute dud is that the wireless connection simply does not work efficiently and it seems as though the company has already given up on the product. The first thing you read is a bunch of negative reviews about audio dropouts, distortion, and mic issues. I chose to ignore them and give it a go because of the prestige of the Turtle Beach brand. As soon as you open the box you see a big print out notice in bold letters saying "DO NOT RETURN THIS PRODUCT, WE CAN HELP". The notice goes on to say to contact support if having any difficulties. It's obvious through that notice and a few hot fixes that they patched out that the company knows the hardware itself is flawed. I was having issues with audio dropouts, mic problems, and most notably the god awful audio distortion; everything sounded out of tune and sometimes slowed down like a DJ spinning tracks. It was so bad that it destroyed any in game music by transposing it a few cents off key. I went through the troubleshoot. I updated and formatted the headset 3 times. I turned off one of my router's signal bands. I even turned off my wifi for moments to test it. Nothing helped. Finally helpless, I contacted support. This is where the true essence of this warning review comes into play. I contacted them expecting some words of consolation and reassurance. Maybe providing some ideas on how to get the product to work. Maybe reassurance that the problems were recognized and were being worked on. What I got was the exact opposite. A turtle beach rep named "Jin" simply told me to return the product and stating that there was something in my "wireless environment" causing interference. Mind you, I turned off my router's wifi and the 2.4 ghz band. So basically this product seems to have some inherent design flaws, which the company is aware of and believes it can't fix. They suggest things like removing the router from the xbox room (which any true gamer knows is absolutely ridiculous proposition). I believe this is probably a legacy product inside the company's inner circle and they are moving away from trying to provide solutions and just cutting their losses. So if you live on a farm, with no wireless signals around you, don't have your router in the room, are ok with turning off a band from your home router this might be a good headset for you. If you live in any city or urban environment, I can almost guarantee you will have the same interference that I did, and the company just doesn't care. Save yourself the money, stay away for now. I would be wary of any Turtle Beach products going forward after seeing how this company's culture operates. I personally lost all trust that the company can actively support their customers and their purchases after-the-fact once their 30-day return period is finished.

First of all, their latest firmware update has taken care of the signal dropping issues. I played all night with zero interruption. Second, I have no distortion or crackling issues as stated in other reviews. The sound is amazing! I can hear so much more, and with the surround sound that these provide, I can detect sounds coming from any given direction. It is really nice having 4 different audio presets, but I just stick with the deep base preset. I’m having a hard time finding the super human hearing ability helpful or even necessary, as it sounds terrible, and I feel like I can hear more when it is turned off. When you turn the super human hearing on, it just sounds like they cut the bass completely out, and jack up the treble, it’s weird, but not a deal breaker for me... I just don’t use it. These also sound phenomenal when watching a movie with a lot of action, like John Wick. I just turn the tv down, and throw these on, and I have surround sound that sounds way better than anything I can get out of my TV. Coming from a wired headset years ago with the X12 I had for my 360, it is a world of difference not having cords stretched across the living room. You just turn on the headset, and it links to your Xbox just like a controller would, after you have done the initial sync, of course. Hands down, these are awesome, and worth the money.

I dont know where people are having a problem with these. I have had zero issues with them. Once i got them home i followed the instructions to the T for the update (which was super easy). Once i updated i went online and setup a private match against some bots on MWR. I heard everything exactly where it was supposed to come from. I also then engaged super human hearing, which is nice but not needed for that game. I also played some ghost recon wildlands ghost war pvp mode and that is where this headset really shined. The regular mode was great, bass boost was good, bass and treble boost was pretty good and super human hearing was excellent in that game. I think the overall sound is a little tinny, but really what headset isnt with most of them having 40 or 50 mm speakers. The sound isnt the best but the surround is where these shine. The new windows sonic surround with the wireless (yes these are completely wireless, they connect just like a controller with a button to pair with your xbox) is just spot on. I am happy with my purchase. I went with these because i saw what its big brother offered and from what i saw, i dont need bluetooth for my phone and that looked to be the only upgrade. As far as the ear cushions, i am very happy with the fabric instead of the faux leather that is very typical for headsets. I find my ears/head dont sweat at all with these as opposed to my old TB Stealth 420x. Th3se are worth the $100 and to be honest after seeing what you get with $150, these are worth $200. You wont be upset with the quality of the directional sound. Like i said the sound is just ok, but the directional audio is far better than the stereo headsets out there that i have used in the past.

This headset is definitely for the casual gamer and casual is what I am. I’m not an audiophile so the sound quality suffices to me, however, I do have a problem in that the max volume is pathetic! Even dialed all the way up, it is too quiet (can we get bigger drivers in these guys than 40/50 mm??). The Windows Sonic enabled helps the overall sound but still leaves something to be desired. I went from TurtleBeach 420x (plastic snapped after 4 good years) and I yearn to have them again. The 600 doesn’t have all the bells and whistles like synthetic leather padding and Bluetooth, but is still offers direct, no-dongle, connection to your XBOX making this a true wireless headset. The flip-up to mute mic is nice too. Also the common turtle beach EQ presets which are okay. I did actually buy the 700s initially, and was disappointed by them for the price. So I saw the 600s selling at a good deal here at BestBuy and stayed with them. I am mostly satisfied for the price but they are still not blowing me away (I don’t expect them to). IMO, the jump to the 700s and the price premium is not worth it unless you’re okay with laying down that $$. The fabric material padding are mostly comfortable, but they do hurt to wear after a couple hours of gameplay. Overall, I recommend the 600 because you get a good headset for the low price, but set your expectation to a reasonable level with these guys.

(Xbox user here) Bought these and am quite happy so far. Connection is easy and automatic. Just turn on and sync with Xbox and voila, wireless sound. Tried the “super human hearing” mode but would not recommend as it makes things sound underwater. There are four sound settings and imo, best to use the bass and treble boost as that helps to make the game sounds so much deeper and richer. Decently long battery life as well and fairly quick charging times. Ear cups feel standard size but I’m able to squash them over my hearing appendages fine. If you have normal lobes, these should work great. Foam pads around the ear cups and at the top of the headband part are comfortable and these are pretty light so can do long sessions without discomfort. Two cons I’ve experienced are that it picks up either the sound from my nearby fan or the interference from the electrical current which causes a tiny hissing sound. Very minor and after a while, I hardly notice it. Secondly, once in a while, the headset’s connection gets a little weak and the music goes a little flat/sharp. Truly minor issue. Otherwise, great headset at the price. Although I’ve only owned this headset for a couple of weeks now, Turtle beach quality definitely shows.

    Simple Yet Underwhelming

So the Stealth 600. I was very excited when I heard about this headset from TB, mainly because of the "Direct Connect" feature. I finally picked these up from my local Best Buy, and got them home. How does it preform? That's what's really important, right? At best, this headset is underwhelming. At worst, it's a complete waste of $100. The volume is ridiculously low, and on Xbox there's no way to raise it. Even with the volume wheel all the way up, it's just too soft. The "surround sound" is also not very impressive, as it's completely virtual through Windows Sonic. If you're thinking of buying this headset for that, DON'T. You'll be disappointed. Drop a little more money and get the Threshers or better. The range is also not very good, as even stepping over to my kitchenette (I live in a small studio) will cause semi frequent distortion. I even hooked these up to my laptop to make sure they were updated to the latest firmware update, and they definitely are. There's also no nose cancelling it isolation of any kind, so your environment comes through very noticeably with this headset. Now the headset is comfortable, and I say that as a glasses wearer. Setup is also very easy thanks to the direct connect. However, due to the issues listed above I will definitely be returning these for something better. Maybe these are all some people need, though. They're not "bad" per se...they're just not good.

I am pleased with the performance of these headphones for the most part. They have decent sounds and are able to deliver decent bass. When I say decent bass, I mean that you can definitely hear it and it gets deep enough to be enjoyable, but don't expect the sound to be fantastic. I have a slightly larger than normal sized head and these really fit well on me, but they are spread open so wide that they feel like it's putting to much stress on the frame. So far, after 2 months I have had no problems with the build and they seem like they will hold up. I recommend these if you want pretty good performance without breaking your wallet, but if you want top of the line, look elsewhere. As far as the connectivity, they don't really give me any problems, but I can detect a weird charge in pitch at random times. Noticable, but not deal breaking. Saves lots of controller battery due to having its own rechargeable battery built in. Expect between 13 to 15 hours of usage with each charge.

I would say that this is one of the best headsets ive ever owned, The surround sound has saved me in multiple games, many times. The battery has a good charge time. Theyre comfortable for hours on end, and there is no wire to worry about. The main reason that i needed a new headset was the audio jack broke, but with these i dont have to worry about that. They sit on my head well, and If i need to turn my friends down or make the game louder, its so simple. The modes and superhuman hearing that this headset have work well, but i prefer to stay on the first mode and switch between superhuman hearing every now and then. For only $100 id say its a good headset for the price and i would definitely recommend it, but if you want to use it on your pc, i also recommend getting the microsoft wireless adapter because it connects the same way you connect a new controller to your xbox so they are usable on pc as long as you have that $20 add on.

I like the surround sound and it sits perfectly on my head. However, I don't feel like this headset is very intuitive. It gives different whistles whether it's on or off, and a lot of times, I can't tell which one is which. The whistles (4 of them if I'm not mistaken) just drive me insane because I don't know or care to remember what they mean. You may need an XBox Wireless Adapter to use on a Windows desktop/laptop. The firmware update that it suggested on the box, doesn't really do anything. It keeps saying it can't find the device. The battery life is questionable. I may have left it running and killed the battery faster. I think it offers auto shuts off. I can't really tell. While I enjoy the surround sound, it does not cancel outside noise. I can still hear the fan on my desktop, which defeats the main reason why I spent this much money on a headset. I have not tried this headset on an XBox yet, so I may someday have a better view on this item.

I love these headphones and I'm super picky. I've only had them for a few days, so I'll repost in a month or two to update, but here are my thoughts so far. First, connecting to my xbox one was like "that's it? they're connected?" yup. Just sync like you would a controller. Sound quality is amazing. make sure you take the time to go into your settings and change the sound to the recommended setting. I can't remember what its called, but after I set it up, I spent a few minutes, just walking around in my game and enjoying the ambient sound. The headband has some kind of soft memory foam, that is very comfortable but they're not hot. The hard mic and flip to mute mechanic are great. And easy charging with standard usb cable. Not bulky docs, no extra boxes to deal with. Overall, no complaints.

I like these surround sound headphones. I had been using the turtle beach stealth 420x+ for the last couple years which were stereo. With these surround sound headphones, you can pinpoint enemy gunfire better. Which is very helpful playing online shooters. PSA adjust the mic monitoring right away! I turned mine down to just one notch above having it totally off. This will virtually eliminate the hissing when you have the mic on. When you first buy them, plug them in to your computer, install any updates that are available, then turn down mic monitoring like I said. When I first tried these, I had a terrible hissing noise and learned how to fix it through a YouTube video. These really are better than the 700 model in my opinion. You get a 15 hour battery life with the 600 (700 is only 10 hour). The only advantage of the 700 is it connects through bluetooth rather than WiFi. Overall I’m happy with this headset, I’ve been using turtle beach headphones since 2009. I’ve always had good luck with turtle beaches.

The overall build quality of this headset is actually pretty good (considering that Turtle Beach headsets are known to break easily). I also enjoy the sound quality of these things and the fact that it connects directly to the Xbox and needs no other accessories . The super-human hearing feature is nice, but all it really sounds like is the volume being increased. It still sounds very nice with Dolby Atmos and Windows Spatial (or whatever it is called). So I have all these good thing that I like about, why did I give it 3 stars. The connectivity sometimes drops for no reason. The materials used in the headset is better than what TB usually puts out, but for $100 these things squeeze your head if your wearing them for a long period of time. If you have a small head these will work great for you, but if it is a little bigger than most like mine I would recommend going with the Astro A20s or the Plantronics RIG 800. Both are comparable in sound quality, but have a better build quality. I will most likely be returning these.

After reading reviews for this product when it first came out I was not ready to buy it until some of the bugs got fixed. After a couple months, maybe less, I saw reviews and heard about updates to fix issues with connectivity. With the problems being fixed I went ahead and bought them and was completely surprised on the comfort and blown away by the sound. I got these ones over the more expensive hair because I did not need the Bluetooth function. Only thing I wish is the volume buttons were in a different location and that the earmuffs were leather instead of a fabric material. But I have had zero connectivity issues and having zero wires is unbelievably convenient. Also having to not plug anything into my Xbox so the headphones can connect to it is just another added perk. Very happy with the overall purchase! Especially since the price is bit lower than the competition.

I was waffling between several brands of headphones when upgrading, but knew I wanted to finally go wireless. These being designed to connect to Xbox like a controller without extra dongles seemed too good to be true. I thought about the Stealth 700s, but if you don't need the bluetooth these work just as well. Sound good, plenty of volume with separate controls for game & chat, adjustable talkback level so you can hear yourself, and comfortable and adjustable. I've even used them on my PC with the controller adapter and they sound good there too. Ultimately you may be considering these because they're priced a little less than most of the midrange wireless--but worry that you're skimping on features. These are more than good enough, and definitely designed right for the job.

After my old Turtle Beach 420x Stealth headset broke, I went to Best Buy to purchase the Turtle Beach 600 set, and much to my surprise, I can't say that the 600 is great or even good. The volume level can't get loud enough for movies or television, I've had problems with the audio distorting (altering the pitch), and there is no voice assistant to guide you through the different audio preset modes, as the 420x had. However, the soft material covering the earpieces and ventral head cushion make for an experience that's comfortable for my head. Also, the microphone is a great minimalist design that folds in towards the headset after use. Overall, the 600 is clearly flawed and only useful if you absolutely need a gaming headset, and I think there are better, cost-effective options on the market.

I bought these for my son to use with Xbox One S. These were a replacement for the RIG wired headset that he was using. He wanted wireless (like his big brother) so I opted for the Turtle Beach as they were $99 compared to the $159 for the RIG wireless. I have worn both headsets and if I had to buy another set, I'd spend the extra money. The RIG set is much more comfortable with softer ear pads and head band. Pros: plug and play, easily connect, lower cost, low profile microphone. Cons: a little awkward with the fit, not quite as comfortable as more expensive sets, some minor issues with a stable connection. This headset is used on an Xbox near a wireless router and wired Hue hub which may contribute to the solid connection.

So my Xbox set up is between my bedroom and my children’s bedroom and I usually have to wait until everyone (including my wife) is asleep before I get to play.. I have an incredible surround sound setup which I can’t use because it would be too loud, so these headphones are a perfect substitute so I don’t lose out on the sound quality. Also with the mic monitoring feature as a default, and the superhuman hearing I am able to hear myself speaking to fellow gamers during multiplayer chat parties, which prevents me from talking to loudly and waking the Family! The only downfall I would have to say is the wireless range of the headset. If I walk out of the room into the kitchen or to the back door to let the dog out(Either way is about a 20’ max distance from the console) the headset cuts out and the sound quickly is heard over the tv speakers. Other than that I would strongly recommend!!

I don’t upgrade my headphones for gaming as often as I should. But when I do, I go big. I had an older set of Turtle Beach wireless gaming headphones and when they started to show their age, I passed them on to my daughter. She used them without issue for a few days, but started noticing dropout and bad connections. At that point, she upgraded to this set of Turtle Beach headphones. They were very easy to install and connect to her Xbox. She has been using them without any issues for several weeks now and she loves them. These were a great upgrade for her but she is a casual gamer. More serious gamers might prefer something with more options and deeper sound quality, but for basic gaming, these will work just fine.

I've owned several TurtleBeach headset starting with the PX51 to the 800X elites. I need something for my grandson for Christmas and we had gotten the Stealth 700 for his brother this summer. This will be his first headset and this is a good starter pair. The are just like the stealth 700 except minus bluetooth and another feature. The pair to the console exactly like a wireless controller so no extra transmitter to worry about. This makes it simple to move between consoles not extra parts. Battery life seems to be good too. Flip up mic muting is a great feature, you know when the mic is muted. But what is even better as parent, Mic monitoring. Mic Monitoring allow the wearer to hear themselves so it reduce that tendency to shoot in the mic because they can not hear themselves.

Upgraded from the TB Stealth 420x+, and for a model upgrade and several year in between, I would have to say I am disappointed for 2 main reasons, neither of which are the sound or comfort. 1. On the Stealth 420x+ if you pushed a button it told you what changed, like Power Button it would say "Powering On" or "Powering Off" or "Super Human hearing enabled". On the 600 it just beeps. No words, just beeps. So learn to speak R2 and you should be ok. Major step back. 2. The headset keeps disconnecting from the Xbox Wireless. In the first 10 hours I have used it I have restarted no less than 4 times because the sound cut out. That isn't fun when you are playing a team game. The sound once setup works fine and sounds great, but the customer experience is disappointed.
